This is our second experience with a swim school like this. The first with my son who did weekly small group classes. It was less expensive but he spent maybe 10 of the 30 minutes just sitting there with little instruction. A was aggravating to watch. For my daughter, we went with Little Kickers which was more expensive but much more effective and therefore valuable. We've had a variety of instructors over the year's including the famous Annie. We're currently with Becka who totally vibes with our daughter and is the kind of person just meant to teach swim lessons to little kids. Our daughter is now 5 and is completely water safe and working toward mastering her four strokes. Effective! read more

We love taking our kiddo to Little Kickers. It is such a great atmosphere with excellent swim instructors. The facilities are clean and kept up well. The pool is heated and the system for beginning and end of lessons is very clear. I love that there is plenty of space for parents to sit and wait. Little Kickers has unfortunately gotten worse. We've had probably 7 "teachers" in the place few months. Their barrier to entry of an employee has continued to decline and we haven't been overly impressed with the new teachers as of late. Layer on the helicopter parents who think putting their 1 year old in swim school is doing anything for them and I just have to shake my head. We are new to the swim experience, but so far we have had nothing but positive experiences. The staff at the front desk is warm, friendly, and go above and beyond to assist you. The system for drop off and pick up is clear and easy with a screen depicting the lane your instructor is in, numbered signs around the pool, and intercom announcements for when classes are about to begin or end. I love the extra time at the end to chat with the instructor. We had Cory and we truly loved how kind and patient he was with our 5 month old. I watched him chatting to our child the entire time, slowly easing him into the water, and engaging him with toys. We look forward to seeing his progress over the long term. The locker rooms are clean, organized, and a nice size so there's plenty of rooms available to prepare for class. I love that they have two changing tables as well. The lobby has ample seating spaces to watch the little kickers through the glass and there is a small selection of retail items which are extremely cute and practical. Though the parking lot is large, I do appreciate that they have dedicated spots out front for parking. While it can be hard to snag one of those spots during busier times, it is nice to be able to keep my little one less exposed to the elements after pool time. read more

Dropping my rating down to a 2. Shortly after writing my last review the facility decided to change their structure and change the level for each child. They claimed it was to make sure that kids have more water safety, however my child was dropped from level 8 to level 4. He apparently needs to pass one skill to pass level 4 but has yet to work with his instructor on the one skill. Everything else in level 4 are things he passed to be in the previous level 8. Not to mention the fact that his favorite teacher stopped teaching on Fridays, and we got placed with someone who is so inconsistent that he literally has met with her maybe 5-7 times in the last 3 months due to her being out and their 900 closures! I am pretty sure they changed everything just to keep kids enrolled for a longer period of time. My daughter who was originally on the last level of swimming lessons was then dropped to a level 8 of 9 and was told that she had to pass swim team skills in order to pass all levels of swimming lessons. My daughter had no desire to be on swim team so why would she have to pass swim team skills to pass a swimming lesson? Makes no sense!!!!! I pulled her from the facility, but she has about 7 drop in lessons that she has to use and can only use them on 5 designated days of the year that are convenient for no one except maybe the greedy owners of this facility! In March, the facility decided to take a 2 week spring break. This meant that 2 of my lessons were cancelled in a month where you are supposed to have 4 available lessons. In April one of our lessons was cancelled due to someone having an accident in the pool. Then, recently we just found out that they are now cancelling a lesson at the end of May due to an "extended memorial day weekend", so yet again, I am only getting 3 lessons out of the month, and they keep telling me that they are just giving me a reschedule. I have 9 reschedules on my account for my son that I am not able to use because the only times they ever have open times are during the middle of the week at like 10 am. I like most normal people have a job so I can't just up and leave to take my kid to swim lessons. We also have activities all other days of the week, so getting over there on any other day is challenging to say the least. I also just received another email saying that my sons lesson was cancelled again on June 2 (so that would be 2 Fridays in a row for those that are counting). They told me I could schedule a drop in lesson on that day for him, so when I said fine, schedule a drop in lesson for him, they told me that they don't have a schedule up yet, so they don't know when he can come in that day. How do you not have a schedule out for a date that is in 2 weeks? And why would you tell me to schedule a drop in lesson for the day if you don't have a schedule out? I sent them an email on Wednesday, May 10, and never heard back. I followed up on Friday, May 12, and still never heard back. I finally called the facility this morning on Monday, May 15, and asked to speak to management, and they claimed they have no idea when management will be in. This facility has gone massively down hill since the beginning of the year. They claim they are making all of these changes for the better, yet I have seen nothing good come of any of the changes that have been made other than them taking my money and not providing their services! It is literally like pulling teeth to get anyone to respond to you here. It's absolutely ridiculous and infuriating! read more

We're 2 lessons (we're registered for once a week lessons) in for my 7 month old and so far I've been very impressed. The registration process was easy and straightforward and I like how you can call, text, and email the front desk. The facility is super clean and bright and everyone is really nice. He seems to be mostly enjoying his lessons- I think it's a lot to take in and get used to fit a little guy- but his instructor (Jules) is so patient and wonderful with him. I really app he patience as well as her cheerful and playful demeanor towards him. Plus she keeps his lesson moving with tons of different activities and toys. We LOVE Little Kickers. Our son started at 6 months doing drop in lessons. We took a summer off and then went to weekly lessons. He has been with his instructor, Chey, for almost a year and really enjoys working with her. She has found the perfect balance of letting him lead the way while also pushing him outside of his comfort zone. We don't care if he ever gets into competitive swimming. I am so impressed with this swim school! My children couldn't be more opposite when it comes to the water. My son (4) is terrified of getting splashed and my daughter (2) has no fear at all. Both are scary for a mom. Walking into Little Kickers, I was a little anxious, but was immediately put at ease with the friendly front desk and clean facilities! Both kids had 30 minute lessons and absolutely loved their instructors. Stella is our 4 (almost 5) year old granddaughter who has been taking swimming lessons with coach Amber for quite some time. She loves her coach and is always eager to go to her lessons. We take her out of preschool for that reason on the day of her lesson. Amber is an excellent teacher who is always kind, patient and very well prepared. Her coaching skills are wonderful. Stella is developing into an accomplished little swimmer who is completely comfortable in the water. Little Kickers is incredible! Their one-on-one lessons provide such a terrific learning environment. The entire lesson period is devoted to your kiddo and your kiddo alone. We have two boys, 4.5 and 2, that look at swimming as the highlight of their week! Saylor works with our younger kiddo and she is so gentle and patient, yet knows how to get him to step out of his comfort zone and gain confidence! Chey works with our older kiddo and she is the perfect match! She knows how to push him and improve his skills while talking to him and instructing him in a way he understands and can visualize. Our older son went to Little Kickers before they had their own space and it was a lovely experience. Currently our twins attend and there are some pros and cons. Instructor absences and turnover seems high. Rescheduling takes some effort but is doable however it depends on the instructor on if the rescheduled lesson is worth it. We have had great reschedules and awful reschedules. Our current scheduled instructors, Eryn L and Lin are great! Update: SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES - I received an emailed receipt of a refund for December on December 7th. I reached out today because the funds had not yet hit my account and was told that they didn't notify their billing department. It's been over a week, they would've just kept my money if I didn't reach out. Also, why do I have a receipt of a transaction that never happened? We really wanted to like Little Kickers and have our son here for the long term but they are the most inconsistent swim school. This isn't our son's first swim school, he went to one weekly when we lived in San Francisco and started when he was 5 months old. He loves the water! However, at Little Kickers, he is matched up with a new coach almost every single class. He hasn't been able to work on his swimming because he hasn't had the chance to get used to an instructor. His initial instructor called out on his first class, then only showed up to 3 of his 6 classes at Little Kickers. We spoke to the team and told them our concern and asked to switch to a more consistent coach so they partnered him with a different one. Lo and behold, his first day with her and she's called out, and they also got the name of his new coach wrong. Inconsistent, confused, and unorganized. We've decided to pull our son from Little Kickers so that he can actually focus on swimming. read more

We love Little Kickers! My 18 month old has been going here for weekly classes for the past few months. In the beginning, it's rough bc most young babies/toddlers take a while to get used to the environment and some even scream and cry the whole 30 minutes (cannot confirm nor deny this was my child). Consistency is good though, and after a few weeks my little one started toddling right up to his instructor Cory to get in the water. We have had makeup classes with several different instructors and they have all been great. As my father in law put it when he went to watch a class, "they all must have the patience of a saint." Little Kickers is located in the same complex as Ace Hardware, a liquor store, and an amazing bakery called Detour, so if as a parent you get tired of watching your child scream --I mean, swim-- you can always go browse for tools, vodka, or croissants. Parking is plentiful. Staff take your temp and your child's temp when you go in and then you can use the bathrooms or the changing rooms to change your child if you need to. Showers and hair dryer stations were recently re-opened. They currently allow one parent per child policy. When it's time for your class, you line up in front of the door and a staff member lets you into the pool area. There's a white board with the instructor names and the lanes they are assigned to, so that's where you find your person. The lanes are split in half so each instructor essentially has a half lane to work with your kid in. They've all got bins of toys and accessories to use during the lesson. They have chairs spaced apart in the parent viewing area but depending on the day and time, it can get super crowded with kids and parents and not everyone may get a seat. (Friday evenings tend to be very busy, so I wouldn't recommend starting out your kid on a Friday night.) At the end of the class, you go back into the pool area to pick up your kid and I'm pretty sure the instructors have to tell you that your kid did great, even if they didn't, to make you feel better. They'll also give you a quick summary of skills they worked on in class. read more

My son has liked all his instructors, although I'm not sure how much progress he has actually made and the lessons are quite pricey. The main reason for the 2 star review is because management is disorganized and inconsistent. The owners closed the school for 2 weeks earlier this year and promised great changes, but those don't seem to have panned out. The owners send emails and have their faces on the walls in the building (they love to tell their hometown/family-owned-business story), but in almost two years of going there, I never once saw them at the swim school or had the chance to meet them. Instead it feels like you have to go through a lot of layers to get an answer to an email or a text, or sometimes you just don't get an answer and oh well! I'm going to put my son in group lessons elsewhere for a fraction of the cost and see how it goes. read more

We've been taking our son here for about 4 years since he was a baby. I love the set up of the school. The pool is nice and has huge floor to ceiling windows on two sides to allow parents to watch their child's entire lesson. The changing area and whole establishment is clean and kid friendly. We've had two stable instructors that my son has loved. However, the staff turnover is high. In between times when he had a consistent coach my son would be placed with random instructors who had no idea his skill level or what he was working on. I nearly always felt that these lessons were a waste of money. The administration has terrible communication and seems to not care at all about legitimate concerns when they are brought up. This last time that our instructor abruptly left, we politely asked to put our recurring lessons on hold until a consistent coach could be found. We were told this wasn't their policy and were charged for the month regardless. This was the last straw for us and we no longer want to deal with the management and administration issues. Sadly, I think we will be breaking ties with little kickers and looking for a different swim school. read more

Tiny pool that's always packed and overwhelmingly smells like chlorine. It always felt like the instructors didn't want to be there... we spent the summer being on the wait list for regular lessons and doing drop -ins. Only to find out that once the schedule renews-- you end up being at the bottom of the list again. Almost like the bottom of the pool. Doesn't make any sense to me. Since we switched to Lifetime -- my kid became a much better swimmer ( in a much bigger and cleaner pool). Would def look elsewhere. read more

Showed up, they canceled both of my children's sessions as someone had vomited in the pool. It would've been nice if they had called before we showed up. We have enjoyed our experience at Little Kickers. The one on one instruction has allowed my kids to progress their skills much faster than in group lessons.
