My only gripe is I wish they maybe did more of a soft icing and some toppings like sprinkles because the royal icing was hard to do any type of nice decoration on. Overall we left with a ton of cookies made and 2 big rolls of sugar cookie dough and chocolate chip cookie dough to Take home. I wish they offered more kids classes. I checked Nov and Dec and nothing showed.

My husband and I came here on a Saturday afternoon to grab some old fashioneds at the bar - we were the only patrons there so service was very quick. Chatted a bunch with the bartender who was very personable. Our drinks were perfectly made and overall, we had a really lovely time. The space was well designed, open and had a nice feel. The water was fruit infused which was a nice touch. As mentioned, we'll absolutely be coming back for a cooking class, but probably for another drink, too!

I had very brief encounters with him but his demeanor towards me seemed very rude. Asked him very simple questions but made me seem like I was asking him dumb questions. Second, the menu was not good. As someone who has been to a lot of Thai restaurants, this might have been for people who are not very familiar with authentic Thai food. I knew the class was over when the instructor told us to soak the rice paper into water for 30-45 seconds (I understand it was not warm water and we used tap water) Still, anyone who has actually has made spring rolls before knows that is way too long. Pad see ew was atrocious. Only used oyster sauce and tamari as sauces... don't really see the point of coming to a cooking class when your cabinet has better selection of spices/sauces. Chicken Khao Soi was decent. Paying 120 dollars for this class was a big mistake. My boyfriend and I just went to Nature's Table last night for a cooking class "How to Eat Vegan on…read more$4 a Day" with Chef Penni. Apparently there was a google deal for $19 a person and we missed it, so we paid $39 each to attend the class, but it was fun! There are numerous stations set up in the kitchen, so for this particular class, we had recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. Everyone picked a station and got to cookin'! The upside of this class was is that we definitely learned some new things and who doesn't want to only spend $4 a day on food? After everyone had finished their dishes, we all had a vegan dinner together! The food was delicious! Vegan does not mean boring in case you were wondering. :) The only downside in my opinion, is that you only get to make one meal. So, really you get to experiment with one dish, rather than multiple ones...and while the kitchen is a pretty good size, there's some bumping into each other, trying to use the stove, rinse dishes, etc. And I found it a little frustrating to not have all the utensils, equipment, bowls, etc that I needed, so I kept having to stop and ask for things. I learned you should shop at Whole Foods and if you can't remember to buy organic. Although the name includes cooking. Did I learn how to cook- not a bit. Like some of the reviews a friend and I bought the Living Social to attend a "class". We decided on the dessert class, well that was the only one we could get into before it expired. Literally the day it expired was the only class we could get in. All the choices of desserts to make sounded yummy, so we didn't really care where we sat but picked lemon bars. I know these are really hard for me to make- but this is a class and we will learn BONUS! So we sat through the Whole Foods spill and don't forgot you can buy these cooking books here at the store. Then the instructor went through each recipe, which was fair. I didn't mind that. However she did say, "When I take these dishes home at night, they seem to taste better after they have sat for awhile" What? I paid for the class and make it, then you get to take the leftovers home? I took a class at another school and we boxed up any leftovers and got to take them home. Seems a little weird, but after the lecture I knew this wasn't your typical cooking class. Finally time to bake and this is what she says. "I have everything label for you to use and everything you need out, so if you need me I will be back there' As I mentioned before, I have trouble making lemon bars so I went asked for some help. The recipe was confusing and she didn't straighten it out for me. ........ Lemon bars were a flop :( Now time to try everyone's do it yourself creation and for the most part they were pretty tasty. I just felt like we were rushed out- so with that being said, lots of leftovers for the staff I suppose? I could go on and on, but hopefully you get the point. Every single thing I've eaten in these classes has been foodgasmically delicious. And I don't use that term lightly. I am not a vegan. Not even close. But there is more than one vegan recipe that has worked its way into my regular rotation, thanks to Cooking for Luv. You'd be surprised how handy it can be to have a few animal-free recipes in your arsenal. Even the DESSERTS are healthy! Not that you can tell by how they taste. Whether you be vegan, vegetarian, omnivore, or whatever, Cooking for Luv is definitely worth it.

So imagine the pleasant surprise when the same friend had the same 4th of July party exactly one year later, only this time to discover that the person responsible for the most amazing food was her! There was so much thought that went into the food.. what I mean is, not only was it delicious, but there was something for everyone (vegans, paleos, veggies, people that just want to pig out and eat deep fried pickles with the best sweet and sour sauce... I didn't even know that was an option in life until that day). I digress. Ok.. so here you have all these different types of food, all delicious AND all following one unified theme.. 4th of July. In other words, even though there was something for everyone it didn't look like a pot luck dinner where everyone brings something different. My mind is being blow b/c I didn't appreciate this awareness until right now, as I am typing. I think this is one of the things that separates people that like to cook and make contrasts for the sake of just being different (nothing wrong with that for sure!), and a true chef. The CCA is doubled with the Espressole Caffe so you can grab a latte, look out for the many different ways you can get your latte! For example, there's a Seattle Styld Latte. The place is pretty tiny so I don't recommend big groups or anyone looking for space to spread out. They do have a patio with lots of seating. The food is prepared by the students which is why I love supporting this place. When you walk in, to your left you'll see the big open windows to watch the culinary students learn and prepare meals. Upstairs you can find more dining seats and tables. They do have complimentary water jugs out which I love because I hate asking for a cup of water. It takes about 10 min for a meal, 5 for coffee depending on how busy they are. They have a dessert bar filled with fresh cookies, scones or muffins. I enjoy coming here! My favorite items are the cafe latte and the English breakfast egg sandwich!
