Not only that but my daughter had been getting her arms yanked by the teachers making the other children uncomfortable!!!! My daughter doesn't even go to this daycare anymore!!!!! Why are they speaking about her????!!!!! Taking her out of here has been the best decision I've made by far! They have a plus size teacher named Ms.Karla who constantly yells at the children for little mistakes, and eats food infront of their face knowing they are hungry and will want some (how big!) MsKarla is honestly extremely rude, aggressive and disrespectful!!! They never seem to have the same staff for too long, I honestly fear for the kids who go here who do not have a voice to stand up for themselves!!!!!!!!

As an LCISD teacher myself, I am grateful for all the things my boys have been learning both socially and academically at American Heritage Academy. After the introduction, my husband and I were taken to the back to get a glimpse of the infant room. First of all, there was food on the floor in the area under the table where the older infants are placed, and two cups on the floor. There was a teacher by herself changing out diapers and when the other teacher walked in there was no sense of urgency in cleaning the mess, by the time she did begin to sweep several minutes had already passed, she picked one of the cups placed it on the counter and put the broom back. Took her several more minutes to realize there was more food on the other side and didn't bother to pick up the other cup, and not to mention no one bothered to wash the first cup that was on the floor. The other side of the smaller infants there was no interaction with them what so ever, no sense of compassion, they were just on the floor being observed by the staff, one of the staff had bright pink two inch nails on. When I brought that to the director's attention, he said he has never had a complaint of scratches before and if he did, he would then bring it to attention and change that. Not to mention when I first walked in the front staff did smile and greet, but other staff that came out from the back did not smile or greet or even acknowledge I was there. At the end of the tour I told the director I would not be bringing my baby here due to all of these issues I witnessed firsthand.

When we walked in everything looked very clean and organized, and they had affordable prices, that made it even better. The kids were not just running around, they were enjoying different activities. The staff treated my children as if their voices needed to be silenced and was never allowed to voice when they were getting bulled by the non-minority there. My children were referred to in racial terms by other children there even went as far as my children being referred to as "Monkeys." When the staff was informed, they allowed that child still to attend this facility. The director did not try to offer relief but instead threatened to stop care for my children due to me speaking up and voicing my discomfort. I have really tried to resolve this but my voice of me and my children is being silenced. I apologize in advance now about how long this review will most likely be slightly long…read more "This is why I LOVE Big Dreams Lil Wonders Christian Academy" In the beginning when all my children started at Big Dreams Lil Wonders Christian Academy my main concern was my special needs daughter Anais attending this facility and wondering if the staff members of this facility was able to accommodate her and her needs. WELL I was wrong because not only did the front office staff: Ms. Stewart & Ms.Maya made sure we felt welcomed and listen to ALL concerns, questions and thoughts I was having but they even made sure that they stayed very transparent and communicated with me and understanding my children and myself needs. When it came to the room she was aged to be she met Ms. Keisha and Since BEFORE my daughter Anais was even put in her class, Ms. Keisha has always shown patience, drive, empathy & most important UNDERSTANDING. When it came to Anais. A little back story about Anais is she is a 2 yr old Level 3 AUTISTIC child who is also partial deaf, she was also nonparticipating, immobile, introverted, nonverbal very shy, and timid child. A year and a month later; Anais speaks some words, participates, plays with other classmates and LOVES outside time with her classmates. Ms. Keisha has not only worked with her on developmental obstacles, learning appropriate age behavior skills but as well as performing in the class and working with her one on one; She also includes Anais in EVERYTHING the class does and makes her feel comfortable and confident to try the same things independently. I can't thank the staff enough for all they done for all my children but most importantly a huge special heartfelt thank you to Ms.Stewart & Ms.Keisha. Everyday that comes and it's time to drop off my children I no longer have that worry feeling inside or calling throughout the day checking to make sure she is ok. When it came to my youngest child Amira; Ms. Milagro ( aka abuela ) knocks it out park! Amira has been going since she was 4 weeks old and literally has grown up at this facility. Amira cries when it's time for Ms Milagro to leave for the day and walks in looking for her every morning. She not only understands Spanish, yet she also strives to do what her big sister does! Amira is learning colors, painting and more!!!! These three women are phenomenal and they know what they are doing! It all helped and my son is doing fantastic here, it makes me so happy knowing he is doing better and he's settled in great. He comes home with what he has learned from daycare. And he is just blossoming here and I am excited to have him continue growing and learning here. Thank you Anointed Steps Academy! *Update* My son is now 5 years old and just entered kindergarten. He's been with Mrs. Stacy from 18 months all the way up until his preschool graduation. He recently took an academic assessment test for school to see where he is. When we got his results back he is in the 97th percentile for math and 98th percentile for reading! My son is a smart kid but it was also with the help, support and continuous encouragement of Mrs. Stacy and others. She has a curriculum that is set to make your child succeed and surpass what they are learning in public schools. My son is proof of it. I can never thank her enough for her encouragement and positivity for my son and for each and every child there. She has always put the kids first and genuinely loves and cares about them.

I wanted a secured place that would provide my son care and education; not just babysitting. Mrs. Stacy greeted me, gave me a tour, and answered all my questions. As the director she's organized and firm which are qualities you want in a director. My son started the academy at 7 months and will soon move to the 18 month class. I'm grateful for the staff there; I feel secure in leaving my son in their care. The teachers are informative, friendly, and take pride and passion in caring for the children. It's a true learning environment! I am just amazed at the skills my son has developed.
