I've had the good fortune of getting to know a couple of them personally and I have found them to be some of the most upstanding people I've met since I've moved to Knoxville. The facilities are clean, the kids have a structured routine of daily activities geared towards their specific age group (each age group is separated into their own rooms), and they get plenty of time to run around outside (or in the gym if it's cold/rainy). They offer a weekly Music 'n' Motion class you can sign your child up for and they often have parties for the kids to celebrate birthdays or the holidays. They also recently participated in the Fantasy of Trees parade down at the convention center. My only complaint is that the daily reports communicating to the parent(s) what their child did and how they behaved is a little inconsistent. However, the teachers are always willing to talk to you personally about how your child is doing. All in all, I'm thankful to have found such a great place for my son to be while I work and go to school.

I sent my son here after…read morehe had previously attended a very well run daycare in Downtown Knox, but had to transfer him to a West Knox care facility when we moved.. He showed up a bright eyed, well behaved, and happy little boy - and left a year later constantly crying because he didn't want to go to school, coming home with bruises and scratch marks, and apologizing to me most nights because everyone called him a "bad kid". NO THREE YEAR OLD SHOULD EVER FEEL THE WAY THEY HAVE MADE MY CHILD FEEL. If you want to send your child to a care center that smells like dirty diapers constantly because they only change the trash once a day, or forces your child to pee with the door open so a classroom full of kids can see, feeds kids lunches out of cans everyday, and only allows children (2) half hour recess sessions a day - even on the most beautiful of days - then this is definitely the place for you. Oh, did I mention that they won't provide you with tax documents, or accept any payments other than cash/check? No camera's in the facility or classrooms either. No locks on the doors. Anyone can walk in at any time. This care facility is truly something out of my worst nightmare based sometime in the early 80's. There's a huge lack of mental stimulation needed to help children in their most impressionable stages, and they are forced to, instead, find ways to entertain themselves in small, dark, and dingy classrooms where they are playing with toys that are mostly broken and contribute next to nothing to their cognitive development. If you're looking for good, reliable, and educationally challenging care for your child in the West Knox area - I highly suggest you continue looking elsewhere. We checked-out four different facilities and decided on Cedar Bluff Play School. We've been quite pleased since day one and don't regret our decision one bit. The staff and owners are very personable and are absolutely great with little ones. Our daughter couldn't be happier to see the CBPS folks when we drop her off and that means a lot as a parent. As for the gal who left a 1 star review...well, you can't make everyone happy. And, as I mentioned above, we looked at several different facilities before deciding on CBPS. 1 Star?! Yeah, right. No way! Young children have dirty diapers that have to be changed, but I've never smelled dirty diapers at CBPS. They're there somewhere, but I haven't stumbled upon them or their scent. Feeding kids out of cans?! They have a kitchen and the meals are cooked daily. In fact, the owners make sure there are plenty of supplies so that children get all they want to eat. (No kid is going hungry on their watch). Kids forced to entertain themselves in small, dark and dingy classrooms w/broken toys?! I don't know where this lady had her child, but it wasn't the CBPS our girl attends... You're not going to find a better group of people to care for your children. These folks are fantastic!

If your kid sneezes once she will call you to come get them. They're kids, there's gonna be a sneeze and snot here and there. No one is trying to send their kid to school if they're actually sick. 2) leader emailed the parents BLAMING them for causing some of the teachers for getting Covid. Like it was Covid, everyone was getting it, and you act like the teachers don't interact with a single person outside of school? And 3) we went an entire month of school being cancelled bc of Knox county closures for sickness, then the school itself had sickness. Then there was no consideration for a prorated fee that month. Not even asking for a free month just a little something back since literally NO SERVICES were provided. 4) You pay for a key fob for the year to "access the school," but are discouraged from ever coming in to the school and instead just let them bring kids in and out every day. Fine whatever, but then they don't give you a refund at end for returning the fob and will charge you to replace if lost. I want to reiterate the individual teachers are great. The leader/boss and the school policies are out of touch with reality, condescending, and irrational.

My two youngest children attended this wonderful place, and the only thing I can say - THANK YOU! Total, we had 3 years long experience with this school, and during all this time, our children never got virus/bacteria from school. Yes, most of the times, they will not let you bring in a child who coughs or has runny nose, but you can feel safe - only healthy children will be around your child there. It is important if in your family, you have seniors or more children that you care about. Also, in cold weather, they will not let children go outside without appropriate clothes on. They preserve child's health. Daily, children spend 5 hours in school, and every hour is full of learning opportunities, fun, and creative activities. The number and the quality of crafts that children bring home every day is very impressive! Teachers are absolutely incredible, especially, Mrs. Lindsay (3 years old group). They really love children, and they truly care about children! Parents and children love this place! We have a big experience with different preschools, but this one is definitely exceptional!
