This really is a great model of something that we need to have in communities across the country. As our public schools fail and drop programs that encourage music and the arts these are the types of non-profits that will need to step in and fill the role.

Joy of Music School provides music lessons and instruments to children of families who cannot afford such luxuries. I use the term "luxury" because in most public school systems, the music and orchestra programs have been removed from the budget. I have personally visited Joy of Music School and have seen them in action. All the teachers are volunteers. The program has been life changing for many kids. Some students go on to major universities on music scholarships. For others it is an outlet from their daily lives, and for some it is simply a way to stay out of trouble. In any case, this is a cause worth funding. I would highly recommend The Joy of Music School on multiple levels. I am a proud supporter.

All of that BS on top of the horrible parking situation where you'll pay $50 a month to get parking tickets, disgusting locker rooms, constant early closures and broken equipment. Overall the place is dirty and I get it it's a public laundromat I shouldn't expect spotless. But cleaner floors and better maintenance would be great. The machines are expensive as well. They're all front-load washers which is what it is. But at least four were broken down and everyone was 3.75, the larger washers are 6.00. The dryers are 1.00 for 12 minutes and instead of offering more time for an additional.25 it's another dollar for a set of 12 minutes there are no other options for drying. The bathroom which is not public is locked after 8 pm and the attendant will not unlock it for anyone. The parking lot is small maybe enough parking for 5 cars? They do offer a drop-off laundry service but they don't display the price I guess you have to call for it. The wifi password is #Kingbob1

It is unusual to get a young, healthy, trained horse surrendered. They get the best care by knowledgeable, experienced horse lovers. I've had the good fortune of getting to know a couple of them personally and I have found them to be some of the most upstanding people I've met since I've moved to Knoxville. The facilities are clean, the kids have a structured routine of daily activities geared towards their specific age group (each age group is separated into their own rooms), and they get plenty of time to run around outside (or in the gym if it's cold/rainy). They offer a weekly Music 'n' Motion class you can sign your child up for and they often have parties for the kids to celebrate birthdays or the holidays. They also recently participated in the Fantasy of Trees parade down at the convention center. My only complaint is that the daily reports communicating to the parent(s) what their child did and how they behaved is a little inconsistent. However, the teachers are always willing to talk to you personally about how your child is doing. All in all, I'm thankful to have found such a great place for my son to be while I work and go to school.
