[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a great local downtown place to relax, enjoy some good conversation and catch up with friends or just take time for yourself to unwind a bit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance here is low lighting with soft chill background music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's not a particularly big place and you won't find large bustling crowds here so if you need to take a break from that sort of scene this is a great place for that.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall selection is not massive, you won't find a 30 page book of wines or anything here but what they do have is high quality and good selection at reasonable prices. They also tend to carry organic wines which is nice. In addition they usually have a small selection of alternatives like a black lager on draft and a cider they had available. They also have a rose on tap which I would recommend. Also while they don't have a full food menu they have a good selection of prepared snacks such as olives, pickled vegetables and probably my favorite, a high quality serving of sourdough bread with what I believe was a goat cheese, olive oil and salt/pepper mixture bread dip which was really good and pairs great with most everything on the menu. Service is great too, the staff always seem friendly and knowledgeable. The smaller location means you generally won't need to wait much if at all for service and the staff is attentive to when people might need topping off. Overall would highly recommend.

Lazy Sunday looking for something open to have a drink and a quick bite saw people walking in here so we stopped in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is very cozy candle lighting intimate tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They had a wine and food pairing while we were there. So we order the food with the wine pairing. The wine was brought out first my husbands was supposed to be a red, and they brought to whites. They switched it immediately when we brought it to their attention. The food then came and it was mouth watering delicious. I got their lasagna, the picture and in person looked like it was going to be very dry but it was the opposite. Well prepared just enough cheese with each layer and the mushrooms on top cooked to perfection. My husband he got their pork loin and when I say he wouldn't stop raving about the taste. He made me try it just so I would agree, which I did. I don't know how often they do kitchen pairings but we will definitely be back when they do it again. The wines did pair nicely but the food by far was the star.

Our first visit to Little Pep on Trade Street. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a cool little wine bar in the Arts District of Winston Salem.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had a late lunch, so the light bites were perfect. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. We had the Bobbie Boy Bakery bread and the Cured Meats.

They're always so accommodating when we come in for book club. They also have the best snacks around town. This dip and bread was to absolutely die for. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We came in with a small group to discuss for book club and they were able to find us a spot that worked although they were fairly busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love that they offer table service. I could also live off of their olives which were complimentary this visit and I don't remember that from our previous visit. Their menu changes seasonally to make sure they're using the freshest ingredients.

What a wonderful little gem of a place. The folks pouring the drinks are always so accommodating and patient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Instead of a loud, rowdy bar like vibe it instead has folks gathering .. from families to friends catching up , and I truly appreciate that kind of vibe the older I get.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very small seating - so maybe very large groups it might not be the best as it's more intimate of a setting .. but on quieter days it's perfect.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We've been on Thursday evenings, once it was a $5 wine tasting from wine in one area and the other event was an oyster and cider event. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What a fun, atmosphere to foster a thriving community.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am excited to come back here to see what other events they'll have. Also they have orange wine - which was delightful!

Little Pep is a small gem located in the Arts District right in downtown Winston Salem. Specializing in wine and small plates, they're the perfect place to pop-in for a drink and snack when browsing along Trade Street. The kalimotxo is our tried and true favorite drink, and we've had several great wines too! Their menu seems to change seasonally, so there are always new things to try. They even have a small shopping area with wine by the bottle and varied dried goods and snacks. We always have quick, friendly service, too!

New favorite watering hole! I love supporting small and local, and I also love wine, so naturally this is a go-to for me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I am so happy Little Pep opened up- it's the perfect blend of cozy/chic/trendy and their offerings are diverse and high quality.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Even better they are open on Wednesdays now. A bit on the pricier end but worth it for a great experience all around. I had their watermelon wine spritzer most recently and it was delicious. Their sparkling wines are always a hit too.

Finally a cute little wine bar for our downtown ! I adore this place already, great little eclectic menu, small plates, friendly staff, knowledgeable at that. Great wine glasses and some truly interesting wines. They have definitely done some research on the natural wines selection. Inside was super cute with great seating and a nice bar area. Also couple of tables outside. They also have some retail foods and wine you can buy. I love the clean fresh decor. We wanted to try something different so we asked our server and she suggested their Rosè, and it was definitely different but in a good way! Clean, good smells, great color and easy drinking. We also tried their bread service, which comes from Bobby boys, always good! Hearty bread and some good butter and some pickled veggies. Went down well with the wine. It was great place for our pre dinner drinks. I loved seeing it busy already too... I hope Winston supports this new business well and I plan on coming back frequently. Gotta support women owned businesses! Nice job guys with your vision, it has truly been captured well.

I've been here multiple times and each time is just another magical experience. On this particular occasion we had two different options off their sweets menu. The toast was glazed with honey, had a dollop of butter and a sesame seed crust that was perfectly toasted. The cider apple with ice cream not only looked delicious but also tasted it! Each bite was the perfection!

Awesome place in downtown Winston Salem to hang out and have some wine in a chill & relaxing environment. The interior is decorated with pink themed colors and long bench seating and small tables throughout. The menu includes small snacks wine and beer. The owner came by our table and spoke to us about some of the artwork that was done by them. Very nice people running this place!

My husband was assaulted inside the bar, and the people responsible left before police arrived. To make matters worse, we were told the cameras only livestream and do not record, which was incredibly frustrating because it meant there was no recorded footage available to help identify the people involved. Everyone deserves to enjoy a night out without worrying about their safety. Based on our experience, I would choose a bar with better security measures and recorded surveillance instead.

We sampled a little bit of everything: the hot vanilla lattes, the Cubano, the cortado, and an almond croissant that tasted like it floated straight down from pastry heaven. Every single item was a flawless 10/10. The staff? Exceptionally warm and welcoming. We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner--genuine, kind, and clearly passionate about the craft. The barista was equally lovely, adding to the charm of the whole experience. And the ambiance... wow. Clean, sleek, filled with natural light, and boasting an immaculate interior that feels both modern and inviting. To top it all off, they also offer a wonderful selection of wine and beer, perfect for unwinding or elevating your evening. This place doesn't just serve coffee; it sets the standard. It was excellent. I ordered the usual coffee shop, staple: and oat milk iced mocha latte. I asked for about half of the usual mocha they put in it, but I don't think that it was enough because I could barely taste the chocolate. When I go back, I will get the full serving of chocolate. Other than that, the coffee was delicious and satisfying. My friend got a cappuccino that he said was excellent as well. The place had the most beautiful aroma of freshly roasted coffee. Neither of us got anything to eat, but they did have a couple of options. I'm pretty sure one of them was a croissant of some sort and we will have to try that when we go back.

When we were seated the only menu they gave us was of the V-day limited menu. It also said "$140" for two people. This was 2 entrees (super small), 2 entrees and 2 desserts the size of a Little Debbie cupcake. The steak would have been great had it not been smothered with a huge dose of super salty brown gravy. It was so hard to eat. My husband got the chicken breast. It was not bad. A little on the dry side and it alot of seasoning. Go figure. The server was great. Very friendly. The acoustics are bad in there so the saxophone player on top of the music was pretty loud but he did a great job. Then the bill comes. An automatic 22% gratuity was added to the bill. Not cool. I can understand charging 22% for a large party but not for 2 people. Not for a limited menu that only included 3 entree choices, 2 very small dessert choices, and 3 small appetizer choices. The glass of wine I had was $15. We were not blown away by the food. It's a shame because in our opinion if we are going to spend over $200 for a dinner, I would hope for much more than what was served. We felt taken advantage of. I don't know what this place is like on a regular basis but we won't be back to find out.

My son and I were in Winston-Salem for the International Black Theatre Festival with Visit Winston,…read moreand when I learned we had free time for lunch, one recommendation immediately caught my attention. Between the rave reviews and the beautifully designed space, I knew this would be our stop. The first thing I noticed when we arrived was that the parking lot was on the smaller side, but any concern disappeared the moment we checked in. The hostess greeted us warmly, asked for my license plate so she could validate our parking, and had us seated almost immediately. It was such a thoughtful touch and set the tone for the experience. On the way to our table, I couldn't help but notice the inviting patio, perfect for lingering over lunch on a beautiful day. That said, I had reserved an indoor table, and I'm glad I did. The dining room is intimate, stylish, and effortlessly chic. It's the kind of restaurant that feels equally suited for a catch-up with friends as it does for a date night. The tables are close together, creating a lively atmosphere, so it's worth keeping that in mind if you prefer a little more privacy. Our server, Aundria, made an already wonderful experience even better. She was warm, attentive, and knew the menu inside and out. It was also refreshing to see the entire team working together so seamlessly, with everyone stepping in to help one another throughout the meal. I ordered the lobster roll with shoestring fries, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The lobster was fresh, buttery, and generously portioned, making it one of those dishes I'd happily order again. Before we left, I asked Aundria what she reaches for when she dines there. Without hesitation, she recommended the Korean Beef Bowl, which has already earned a spot on my list for my next visit. As if the experience couldn't have ended on a sweeter note, it started raining just as we were leaving. The hostess grabbed an umbrella and walked me to my car, a simple gesture that perfectly reflected the hospitality we experienced from start to finish. Great food is memorable, but genuine hospitality is what keeps me coming back. This restaurant delivered both, and it's officially earned a place on my list of Winston-Salem favorites.

The "Korean Beef Bowl" came with about a cup of each beef, rice, cucumbers and maybe 1/4th of an avocado for $24. This looked and tasted like a $14 dollar plate at best (seriously, no kimchi even in a Korean bowl?); I left hungry. My wife got the Thai coconut curry, $30 bucks which included an $8 up charge for chicken, in which there were maybe 8 paper thin slices. The curry part was non existent both in volume and in taste. There was barely any sauce, very bland, and it essentially tasted like unseasoned noodles and vegetables. I would gladly come back for a happy hour and enjoy their other drink options and appetizers, but I just cannot justify paying the exorbitant prices for how mediocre the food ultimately was. I wish I had taken a picture of the food to add weight to the review but it was so lackluster looking that it just was not worth photographing in the moment.
