This restaurant has been recommended to me many times, so was excited to finally give it a try. The first thing you notice is this place is a vibe! The patio outside was gorgeous, and big. We were seated inside, but it didn't disappoint either. Nice big bar, fun wallpaper and furniture, just overall high end decor and great ambiance. Our waitress was very attentive and happy to offer recommendations if you ask. We started with cocktails and I ordered the Yuzu Paloma. It nicely balanced and I loved the spicy rim. Very easy to drink and something little different. We were between a couple appetizer options and settled on the Crab Louise Wraps. It sounded the most different. It was a nice and refreshing cold salad with fresh lump crab meat, thousand island dressed, boiled eggs, bell pepper, scallion, avocado, and sriracha which added a little heat. The plate had 5 lettuce wraps with some lime for extra acidity. Do wish it was an even number of wraps for easier sharing. I would order these again. For my entree I got the Korean Barbecue Beef with came with rice, avocado, cucumber, chile crunch, and sesame. The entree was a nice portion size and the beef was well cooked. I'm a sauce girl so appreciated the side sauce. Was impressed they gave you so much avocado. The white rice was cooked well but basic in flavor. The cucumber was good, but wish the dish included more vegetable variety. Overall it was a satisfying dish, but wouldn't say I was blown away by anything truly special in the dish. For dessert we shared the banana pudding. It was served in a cocktail type glass. This was quite decadent. Creamy and delicious, like an elevated version of what grandma made. This is the kind of upscale place you could go for a work celebration; a date or meeting up with friends. Outdoor patio is nicely appointed and inside was dark wood with a nice bar. We came here because it was rated highly on Yelp and near the old interstate we were driving on. Why not:)!? Korean barbecue bowl was good with some nice chilled cucumbers. Salty for my taste. First time at Betty on Burke and it will not be my last! I went with a friend to celebrate her birthday and they did not disappoint. From the minute we walked in, we were greeted promptly and seated at our reservation time. They even had handbag clips to put on the edge of the table so we didn't have to put our purses on the floor - loved that! Everything we ordered tasted so good! We got the Rice Paper Tacos as appetizers. They came out looking like art on a plate and they were very gracious to tell us that there's not a wrong way to eat it. I got the Korean BBQ Beef as my entree and it hit the spot! My friend got the Modern Tuna Nicoise as her entree and it looked too pretty to eat, but she said it was delicious! For dessert we got the Passion Fruit Panna Cotta. It was the best way to end the night. We enjoyed our meals and the service was top-notch! Ambiance was nice-we sat in the outdoor area and they had a nice simple table display with a small table lamp that I was intrigued by. I'd never seen one so small but what I liked about it was that it didn't take up space on the table. The ambiance and vibe were great, and even though the inside space is small, I felt like I was still able to have a private dinner with my friend! I also couldn't stop eating the mushrooms in the local burrata salad. The latkes were on the softer side for my liking. Betty on Burke blew our socks off first visit . Look for the helpful sandwich board sign on the sidewalk because the restaurant is tucked away at the back of the building. The parking lot is pay-to-park but the restaurant will validate your parking. Upon entering the restaurant you are transported to a fresh, elegant yet cozy atmosphere. We took advantage of today's cooler temperatures and sat outdoors. There were plenty of fans blowing which not only circulated the air but provided white noise to minimize noise from the other tables. I loved all the plants, the fountain and the cool little lights on the tables. Our server, Anna, immediately won me over by offering a chair for my purse. Started off with drinks, I got the Hugo Spritz and husbands the Holy Basil Spritz. We were both pleased with our drinks but agreed that the fresh mint really leveled up the Hugo. Took me back to our trip to Europe several years ago when that was my drink of choice. He ordered the special of day, a tuna "burger," and I ordered the Chicken Paillard. Again, we were both very pleased with our choices. The shoestring fries were a nice accompaniment to the tuna burger. The chicken paillard was about the thinnest chicken I have ever had, I had worried it might be dry but the marinade kept it tender and flavorful. It was also topped with a lovely lemon sauce. Speaking of sauce the cacio e pepe sauce on the fusilli pasta was delicious. The arugula was a nice addition of flavor and texture to the dish. Thankfully we ordered dishes that were on the lighter side so we had just enough room to share the dessert special of the day, which was a "crostini" of delicious toasted bread topped with ricotta, peaches, and vanilla bourbon ice cream - almost a deconstructed cobbler. After a hot and lazy day by the pool with beer, seltzers, and snacks, we were ready for some real food (and more tasty drinks to keep the party going). We arrived aroun 5pm on Saturday - it was not busy or crowded at all, and we were seated immediately. We opted outside for the covered seating since it was nice and warm still. This spot is just as trendy and chic as Mozelle's - clean decor, light/white aesthetic, nice mood lighting. And the food/drink menu are also on par. I had a couple glasses of prosecco and a small caesar salad appetizer and ravioli for my main dish. My friends had a spritz, burger, and pasta with lobster. We all enjoyed our meals - the drinks were crisp, cold, and refreshing, and the food was high quality, fresh, and flavorful. While the parking lot is owned by one of those "parking trolls", Betty on Burke does validate parking so that you do not have to pay (know you license plate for when you check in with the host). My group of 3 made a reservation for a weeknight, and though it was a rainy winter evening, we stayed warm in the outdoor area with heaters and blankets. Another fabulous brunch today, I came with some out of town family who also thought it was so awesome. Anna our server was so polite and personable and we just loved her . This time round I sat outside in the covered patio. Just lovely out there. Perfect Sunday spot. The furnishings are so just inviting and clean and perfect for the vibe. We started with drinks! Spicy Bloody Mary and holy basil spritz . Both so delicious. Never had a spritz with such good sweet and bitter balance. Love they created this. The Bloody Mary was also so good and perfect spice level. House made Bloody Mary mix. Perfect start. We tried the potato chips on the small plates menu. These are a must get. Thin sliced potatoes but so not greasy. Bottom layer is their labneh infused with caramelized onions. Wow. The combination was so good and perfect . Dip the chips in the labneh and you have a happy palate. Then I tried the Sunday special, Elote corn scrambled eggs with scallops, with chili crunch oil. The moment she told us about this I was in. Also has country ham on top which I don't want but got on the side for someone else to try. One of my guests also went with this option but with country ham! The other ordered the ahi tuna rice paper tacos which knew from previously having them is a great dish. So unique. The scrambled eggs dish was amazing ! Loved the scallops and the chilli crunch gave it a good kick. The eggs were perfectly cooked. Also a nice creamy sauce on top of the scallops which gave it some richness. Another unique dish. They have a nice outdoor area, but it was overcast on the day I came so I ate inside. my server was Brandon and he was five out of five stars. He was very friendly handmade great suggestions. I started with the soup of the day, which was a tasty okra soup. I also had a mimosa, which was also good. I ordered the pork schnitzel which I have seen online and looked very good. The dish did not disappoint. The pork was very crispy and the Verde sauce added a bit of acid. Sadly, I was too full for dessert so next time I will have to try one of them. This is a newer restaurant in Winston Salem located where the Powder Room used to be. The decor has a Miami vibe, classy and upscale while still being relatively casual. Absolutely adorable patio. All the wine and cocktails we had were good. Service was excellent. The menu is varied - you'll find Asian, Italian, American, and even Jewish dishes on this menu. Plates are small so you'll likely want more than one item. Prices are reasonable, but on the higher end of reasonable. You can easily spend a lot with charges, multiple plates, alcohol and dessert. Okay, to start with the good- this place is so cute. We sat inside but the outside seating area you walk through on arrival is so nice! Really great modern decor and the whole place has a very cool vibe. This place states they are vegan friendly and my boyfriend's mom, who is so thoughtful, picked this place for us all to go because she thought it'd be good for me (the only vegan in the group). The choices were highly disappointing. I ordered a bowl which was good but very boring and not filling. My other option was a bowl of mushrooms (served with cheese- I dislike paying for food I'm not going to be eating). The quality of the food and preparation was clearly skilled but my dish was just....boring! Normally, I keep my expectations super low because as I vegan, I don't like to make a big deal about being one. But this place made it sound so vegan friendly that I was really excited! No vegan desserts, either. Not really great place if you are plant-based, but they do have a vegan dish with option to make at least one other dish vegan. Oh, and my favorite part was the waiter arguing with me that the Caesar salad that had a star saying raw eggs can be dangerous to consume, was vegan. I simply ordered something else but the waiter should know what is vegan and what isn't (or just go check in the kitchen instead of insisting that something is vegan when it's clearly marked as not). The waiter interrupted us about every 5 minutes as well. I will say my boyfriend and his mom got the curry with chicken and loved it! Boyfriend's dad got the burger and said it was just okay. There is a non meat burger on the menu but somehow the waiter said that was not a vegan option. All that said. It's a smaller space so it will fill up quickly. The outside area does have a lovely community table though if you don't mind sharing a new spot with new friends. We sat at the beautiful bar and our bartender/server was right there waiting for us. We order some drinks to start off and as we browsed through the menu, our server brought out a small complimentary appetizer. It was the restaurant's rendition of Cheezits and they were so delicious! For my meal I had the smash burger, it was smaller than I expected but made up with big flavor! It was cooked very well and had a balance of juicy and crunch to make for a solid burger.
