Unfortunately, the weather interfered with our ability to see as much as we had hoped, but we still had a great time! There is a nice visitor center with a variety of historic and nature info available, including some great info on the CCC work that took place in the park (there's a really nice interactive model of a CCC camp too) and how and where the park name is suspected to have been derived from. There is a real snake to look at, as well. A very nice playground is located nearby, and this section of the park also offers easy access to the Loysalsock Creek and the beach with a snack bar, plus multiple picnic tables and shelterhouses. It's beautiful even just to look at the valley walls and the creek itself. There are several gorgeous vistas available, some by foot and some by foot or car. We especially liked the Loyalsock Canyon Vista, which can be reached on foot or by car. It is located next to the Rock Garden, which is a very neat grouping of giant rocks and boulders that is a lot of fun to check out. The park also offers camping and plenty of trails. Worlds End is located within the Loyalsock State Forest, so there is also a lot more that one could explore in the area.

Ricketts Glen used to be my favorite PA state park, but World's End has totally won me over. The…read moremost important reasons: 1) The hikes here are a little more challenging, a little longer, and just generally more enjoyable for me. 2) The family campground is spacious - the tent sites and modern electric sites are interspersed, but you don't feel like you're right on top of the next site over. 3) The bathroom facilities are clean and warm, no matter what time of year I've visited. Big ups to maintenance and the camp hosts. 4) The camp hosts and visitors center personnel are fantastically kind and helpful. They obviously love this park. 5) Fun stuff like the Forksville General Store, Snack stands, swimming hike, Haystacks, Rock Garden, and all kinds of other interesting places to explore! I've been here with friends, with my family, and by myself, and I've thoroughly enjoyed each trip, so I'll definitely be back for more!

My family and I visited this clean park in July 2025 to find a quiet place to walk our dog. The…read morepark is a 10 minute drive from Williamsport and somewhat hidden from the main highway. On the plus side, the park has a covered pavilion near the entrance. Also, the park has a lot of trees which provides shade on a walking trail that is dog-friendly. The park is connected to Canfield Island, which is a historic location for a Native American village. On the minus side, it did not have open, clear views of the river. Also, the gnats were ferocious in July. Perhaps a walk here in the winter or late fall would be more pleasant (better views of the river and fewer insects). But overall, it's not a bad place to visit in the summer for a walk.

Very quiet, despite the constant traffic on State Routes 11/15 immediately below. Didn't find the nesting raptors in the trees below, nor did we see any deer as we hiked along the Deer Trail, although we came across a family BBQ at one of the covered picnic areas. Near the top were restrooms that were in an actual building rather than the usual porta-potties, but with no running water (although there was hand sanitizer). Well-maintained playground with swings, slides, and monkey bars at the upper parking lot for the kids too. Just be sure to map or GPS your route to avoid having to make numerous U-turns - coming north up Route 11/15, there's no park directional signage (look for the County Line Road sign just before the bridge) and from County Line Road, the park entrance sign is pointing towards visitors coming from the opposite direction.

This is a beautiful park. Lots of trees. Spring Creek runs through it. Some ball fields for the…read morekids and adults who still think they are kids. There is even a covered wooden walking bridge across the creek along a walking trail. There is lots of parking. They also have indoor bathrooms that look to be in decent shape. This is a great place to take the kids after picking up a pizza. They can play on the playground after eating at the picnic tables. The playground equipment is modern. There is even a sandbox. The park is great because it doesn't get too busy. That allows for ducks and some of the wildlife to show up from time to time. Lots of shade for the hot Summertime. Also, the stream is nice and cool to put your feet in and cool off.

PA is full of town parks. Centre County has some of the best in the state…read more Tudek is no exception to that. It has just about everything you would want in a rural park. There is a modern playground. There are athletic courts and fields. There is a really nice walking trail. There are several things that set this one apart, though. It has a dog park, for one. This is something uncommon in this part of the state. The other unique feature is a butterfly garden. It is quite beautiful and scientifically correct for the species of butterfly and bees in this part of the state. There is even a yearly educational program called Wings in the Park which was going on the day we got there. The program had activity stations set up with educational "questions" to help the young and old, alike, learn about the butterfly. There was even a station about bees. This program had information on new methods for growing perennials that are friendly to the butterfly. They had information on conservation efforts in effect in order to save the rapidly disappearing Monarch butterfly. Back to the park itself. The main trail winds through some fields. One of which appears to be a horse pasture. It is really odd, too. You would think with the developments nearby, that you would feel like you were in the middle of a residential area. You don't feel that way. It feels completely rural and relaxing. I imagine this would be a great place to go for a jog. The main trail is paved. But there are little grass covered trails and reflection spots throughout the butterfly garden. So with all this, I can really highly recommend this park. One of the top ones I have been to in along time. I mean... butterfly garden? Yep, with sunflowers, semi exotic looking native birds, and natural beauty, this would be a great place to visit daily.

For those that hold family gatherings or other large grope picnics it also has numerous picnic areas that can be rented. We, until recently, lived only a short distance from the Park. Today we went for a ride and came to the Park to relax and decided to have a dish on Ice Cream. I choose Mint Chip and my wife had Black Raspberry. We sat on the porch and enjoyed our food as well as the beauty of the park. If you have not visited Black Moshannon Park you should give if a try. You will enjoy the beauty and tranquility.

Black Moshannon State Park is the place for people like me, and I reckon I'll return if I ever get the chance to meet Phillips Burg and decide to live in his town one day. The campsites, while basic, did the job with ease. I've never had a better s'more in my life in those fire pits. The falling acorns, however, made me have several Sir Isaac Newton moments and even gave my camping tent a concussion. It was nuts, but I slept like a dead dog every night. The 20 miles of hiking trails are excellent, and the bathhouse was suprisingly clean. I'll be back once I figure out what I'm doing with my life. The end.

We stopped by to do some fossil hunting - nice place. There are also trails, boating, fishing, etc…read more& a small educational/visitor center with displays, etc. Spent a few hours looking for fossils which was enjoyable. We only checked out two sections of the preserve, first the Fossil pit, and the vistor center. The vistor center had a few exhibits that were interesting, the main part of the review was the fossil pit. Called ahead, prior to our visit this past Sunday August 20, 2023...knew what to expact utilize sun screen if needed, bug spray and a hat. Even though se were there for a short time, was able to locate some fossils, and we both had a unique, fun experience, despite the heat. Look forward to coming back and checking out trails for future.
