We brought our little one here to see some farm animals although you can't pet them. She was fascinated with some of them and kept pointing at the goats and cows. One thing that surprised us was that there is a milk dispenser where you bring a 1L bottle to fill up or you can buy a 1L bottle from the farm. You do have to get a token. I'm somewhat lactose intolerant however I was able to drink this milk with no issues. Their cheeses are good so we got some to take home with us. read more

We like this farm and often come here with kids and we like the milk , eggs and cheese off course. The only thing I'm concerned is Monday closure. It is so unexpected to be closed on Monday, and we often drive from Nanaimo just to come back with nothing. It's really disappointing, maybe you can consider to have at least one worker to be there on Mondays so people can buy milk and something else. read more

This is very close to where my parents live on the Island, and they introduced me to their wonderful delicious cheese. I wanted to pick up some to take home, so we popped on by to grab some. It's located on a large Dairy Farm. They have many cheery looking buildings you can tour to see how they make the end product. We didn't have much time before we had to catch our Ferry, so I didn't check it out other then what was close to the store. There are many photo friendly places, and we took advantage of a few. Inside the store, besides the cheese, they had many miscellaneous items for sale. Resin & cedar coasters and cheeseboards for example. There are different flavoured cheeses to chose from. We purchased a Feta Garlic one and one called Herby. They were both very good. The Feta one was a stronger flavour and was a bit on the saltier side. The Herby was softer to spread, but lacked just a bit in terms of flavour. It was perfect when we mixed them together. In the past, I also tried a Cranberry one, which I would buy on my next visit. If you are in the area, be sure to check it out, and when shopping, look for the cheese as I believe it's sold in some Grocery stores. read more

A little gem of a place tucked away at the end of a residential area. Truthfully, my husband and I would have never known about it, if I had not searched for a list of must see places in the area. A working family farm, looks like you can visit all year-round and have a self-guided tour. We were able to walk around at our own pace and see all the different animals: the cows, the goats, rabbits, etc. I was the most fascinated with the robotic milking machine and the explanations of all the recent improvements to the place. There was a nearby play area and a cafe. We had plans for lunch so we stopped by the store to pick up some small blocks of cheese and happily discovered an extensive list of where we could purchase the cheeses closer to home. Overall, it is a good place to keep the young kids entertained for a couple of hours and introduce them to some farm animals in real live. It is also good for the adults to purchase different types of cheeses and have a chuckle over some of the amusing signage posted around the farm. read more

While visiting Qualicum Beach this summer, one of the places my husband and I wanted to visit was Little Qualicum Cheeseworks, because CHEESE! and ANIMALS! Unfortunately, due to the actions of others, we arrived only about 15 or 20 minutes before closing, so we did not have a chance to properly look around, to our disappointment. However, we managed to (very) quickly walk around the farm and see some of the animals and purchase some cheese. We purchased a soft cheese with cranberry, Tipsy Jill, and my favourite, Hot Jill. I loved the cheeses, and I was happy to find that several stores in Vancouver, including Safeway, sell their products. This place was awesome! You need to know about it to search for it, but once you make it there, it's super fun and very cute. It's fairly open to roam around the farm, interact with the animals a little, see how everything is made. It would make a great trip out with little ones but even as three adults, we had a lot of fun. It helps that I LOVE cheese! After a quick tour of the grounds, we stopped into the store and tried essentially every cheese they have on offer. They also have an assortment of fruit based wines (of which we also tried all of them) and went home with a nice little bundle of wines and cheeses. Great experience! read more

I ordered a cheese/meat/cracker tray via an email request. This is what a $150 catering tray looks like...I expected a lot more than what I got. The tray is 1/3 crackers which were already stale when I picked it up because it was all stored together in the fridge...an experienced caterer would never make this mistake. I complained but didn't hear back from anyone. The cheese product itself is good; it's quality and hand crafted. Unfortunately the gap between price and product is too far apart and definitely not worth what I was charged. So disappointed. read more

And not just any cheese, prize winning cheeses! After gorging ourselves on fruit wine and cheese samples we took our purchases, accompanied by Stryder, the adorable big black poodle farm dog, to their lovely picnic area. It even has a sink for you to wash your hands before you eat, since it is impossible to resist petting all of the baby animals that you encounter along the way. They provide a self-guided tour map for you to explore this working farm with very few limitations. They only ask that they respect their property and that you leave it in the pristine condition that you found it. For those familiar with their cheese products from stores or farmer's markets, this store sells some artisan cheeses that you won't necessarily find in the other stores. Their factory is undergoing a major refurb which will not be complete for a short while so we were not able to do a factory tour but that by no means diminished our visit. read more

While I did not have the pleasure of visiting the farm itself, I became acquainted with Little Qualicum Cheeseworks at the Vancouver Winter Farmers Market. They had brought a variety of cheese for sale including Feta, Brie, Qualicum Spice, and Rathtrevor. I wasn't too keen on the Brie, but the Rathtrevor was delicious and the one that I purchased. The Gourlay family got their inspiration for cheese making when they were living in Switzerland. All of the cheese is made with milk from their own cows. They are the first dairy farm in B.C. to be certified by the SPCA so you can feel good about eating cheese made by happy cows! read more

The visit to the Mooberry Farm was fun. There are animals that are so cute: Llamas, sheep, pigs, horses. There's a lot of old country machinery great for picture taking. The little store sells great tasting cheese made on the premises. You should check it out if you're in the area. No entrance fee. read more

OMG, so glad we turned off the road when we saw the little sign for this place! What a find. After we gorged ourselves on cheese samples, we tried all their Mooberry wines. I was not expecting much from fruit wines, but was so very happily surprised that they were delicious!! We walked away with two bottles, the pear and blackberry and now I'm so sad they are gone. I hope I can find somewhere that sells it. To top off the trip, we were able to socialize with some lovely livestock. I had a meaningful bonding experience with a 10 day old calf...so cute! There were also adorable friendly pigs and although we didn't see them...a salamander migration? I feel like they were pulling my leg on that one. Oh, plus, you can watch them make cheese. I love cheese, so that was a thrill. Worth the stop with kids or adults! read more

Ridiculously quaint ! Great family picnic spot. So well laid out that my son's teenage pal said "Where do we pay? That's the beauty of it - you don't. So refreshing in this day and age. Just park and give yourself a guided tour of the farm. The doe-eyed baby cow petting and viewing - free. The mini goat enclosure that you can wander into - free. The 1/2 hour meadow walk and mountain view trail - free. Critter corner (actually forget what's in that enclosure - rabbits? chickens?) -free. After all that free stuff, head over to the on site cheese shop and support this fabulous tiny dairy that makes it's own cheese - Brie, Feta, Fromage Frais - Rathtrevor - Montrey Jill - Qualicum Spice and Fresh Cheese Curds !! Check it out - bring a small cooler with a picnic lunch and fill it up with cheese when you leave!!! read more

our tour group has stopped in , 40 seniors. we all enjoyed it. great wine. very nice gift shop. interesting to learn about the high tech milking system used in this operation. we found it a little hard to find , but, we did not have GPS on. just got to learn how to read and follow the signs. I hope to return here in the future. read more
