Our child worked with Jessica for the majority of our time there, and to say she's exceptional would be an understatement. She brings a rare combination of clinical expertise, intuition, and warmth that made each session not only productive but truly enjoyable--for both our child and us as parents. Jessica has a gift for teaching through fun. She used creative play, games, and imagination to keep our child engaged in every session, all while targeting meaningful progress. She celebrated every milestone, no matter how small, helping to build confidence and excitement along the way. She was highly observant and adjusted exercises in real time based on how our child was doing physically and emotionally that day. It was clear she always had our child's full picture in mind--advocating not just for physical progress but overall well-being. As parents, we also felt incredibly supported. Jessica explained everything clearly, without ever talking down to us, and gave helpful tips for reinforcing progress at home. She created a welcoming, encouraging space that our child genuinely looked forward to visiting. While Jessica was out, Andrea stepped in to continue our care--and did a fantastic job. She ensured our child stayed on track and brought her own thoughtful, expert approach to each session. I was also told before my appointment that our insurance was in network with the practice and it was a hassle when I showed up, they infact did not take my insurance so I had to self pay in order to be seen. While I was waiting in the lobby for my insurance to be verified I saw the owner aggressively ripping up papers and yelling at one of the Doctors, saying he would fire her if she used a certain medical office for referrals. I was genuinely concerned for the girl at the front desk so I asked her what was going on and she seemed very baffled. I loved Dr. Miller but in good conscience I could NEVER go back and give my money to practice that feels that it is okay to act that way, especially in front of patients. I have followed Dr. Sills wherever she's gone and I would follow her to the moon and back if I had to (although I'm pretty sure she's staying put for a long time). I love the personal care she gives everyone in our family. I actually have great health insurance but I prefer Dr. Sills and her method so much more. She is always accessible by email and she takes her time with you at every visit. You are never a number and you are never waiting with a billion other people that are sick and contagious. Try her. You absolutely won't regret it.

We bought into the expansion package with Dr. Prather for palate expansion because she had an appliance that I wanted for my child. The biggest problem is that at the end of the treatment, we did not gain the width we were told we'd achieve despite excellent compliance. When I asked questions, nothing was addressed or adequately solved. The solution was to tell me that I just needed to start "phase two" and pay for an entire other treatment plan, obviously for thousands more. Please beware of money grabs and get second opinions; beware of any dental practice running a spa.

We were given a 3-4 week away appointment. (No empathy shown from staff. ) This inevitably caused a lot of tears and hopelessness due to the state of our baby and the powerlessness we felt in the situation. Thank God we were advised by a lactation consultant to go to Dr. Baxter in Birmingham! (Sounds like a crazy drive but it isn't and is worth it plus June coffee company is there.) He has emergency appointments RESERVED for parents like us and prioritizes us due to the gravity of the situation. Also... Dr. Baxter just so happens to have written the book on best practices, TongueTied. He also prays over the patient/fam before laser surgery. Truly beautiful PLEASE go where your child will be valued and receive top level of care!

He has a way to answer stupid questions without making you feel dumb. He doesn't over prescribe or do more than is needed. We really like his theologies in parenting and the "do's and don'ts". He's been super helpful. The office staff are a bit scatter brained at times. They don't always know what's going on or have to get help for what should be simple things. Not all of them. But a few need some coaching. The wait is LONG though. I don't know if they overbook or what, but we've waited well over an hour every time we've gone. Not just waiting room either, like once we get to the room itself, over an hour. I'd rather schedule a later appointment and not wait. Other than the wait, seriously, Dr. Dodd is the best.
