This is a great little neighborhood park in Travis Heights. Smaller, sister park to the Big Stacy Park. It's got a wading pool ( currently out of commission), playground, volleyball courts, tennis courts, fields, picnic areas, and it's connected by Blunn Creek trails (easily walkable from one park to the other). Good area for walking your dog, grabbing a quick picnic, playing in the playground, or getting in a game of tennis. My dog is a big fan of the slide. My tennis is rusty to say the least. My best friend and I came to this park for a play date with our toddler. There are several playscapes as well as many slides of all sizes. There are tennis courts and swings for big and small children. There are different connecting trails and adequate space for bike riding. The sun this time of year shines so beautifully on the green hills at this park around 4:20 pm. Only reason only 4 and not 5 stars is that there is an abandoned pool that is dirty and empty . This is my kid's favorite park. When I mention going to a playground she specifically asks to go to the the one with the swirly green slide. She loves it here. I love that she loves it. There are plenty of spaces here for kids to ride a bike or scooter too. Other things that stand out here are the variety of playgrounds they have here. One for the tiny ones, one for the little bit bigger kids and then a regular sized one for big/all kids. Little Stacy Neighborhood Park is beautifully shaded and surely to be hit for the family. read more

This park is simply the cutest and the fact that it is hidden is even better! They have tennis courts, basketball courts, lots of wooded area to explore and completely covered by large trees so it's always shaded!! I love how cute and calming vibe this park gives! We LOVE this shady, well maintained neighbourhood park. It has plenty of equipment so that it never feels totally overrun even on busy days. It is far enough from the road that you're not constantly worrying about traffic. There are paved trails round the edge for exploring / bike riding / scooting. Lots of big shady trees, tennis courts, benches + picnic tables + basket ball hoops. Everything you could possible need to exhaust a rambunctious toddler come rain or shine. read more

So far so good. What a beautiful place. Naturally beautiful. Huge park area. Tennis courts. Swimming pool...that I know nothing about but do intend on asking. Covered in trees...can only imagine how wonderful it is to swim here.. My kids love it. So do I. Its not crowded. There are plenty of different things to keep the kids entertained. I love it. The bathrooms are actually not that bad. This is the place I do not care to visit while at parks ...however my son absolutely had to go.. Well.. Let's go see... OK? It want bad. I mean Walmart's bathrooms are FAR worse. I was pleased with that. Thankful actually. I appreciated how everything was situated. Different little areas made it nice if there were note kids there. Luckily we pretty much had the playground to ourselves. I'm excited to go back to the pool. It appears like a great place to teach my kids how to swim and its free. And its shallow. Goes from 9inches to a whopping 2 ft. Perfect for teaching them and allowing them to explore on their own without feeling intimidated or overwhelmed. We had a great evening at the park. Quiet little park in a residential neighborhood. There were quite a few kids and parents there on a late Thursday afternoon. Its good for the younger kids with smaller play structures. My boys had fun tiring themselves out. read more

A bit surprisingly run-down given the high-end neighborhood in which it it is located, Little Stacy Park is still a reasonable place to bring the little kiddies for a fun afternoon, if you can stand a place a bit rough around the edges. The main attraction is the large wading pool, which gets no deeper than 2 feet or so, so it is perfect for babies getting used to the water for the first time, toddlers asserting a bit of independence and kids up to about 6. Unfortunately, the pool also seems to attract families who do not monitor their rowdy older children. When we were there, a girl of about 8 was running around beating on other kids' floaties and grabbing things out of the hands of toddlers and refusing to return them - her parents nowhere to be found. The lifeguards didn't do anything to help. Finally, another parent had to go over and stop the girl, and was rewarded with the girl splashing her full in the face at short range. Nice. Despite that bit of discord, however, my own kids (3 and 5) had a terrific time both in the pool and the playground. One particular feature of the pool that I really like is that there is a huge oak tree right at the edge of the pool, and much of the pool is in shade later in the afternoon. If you or child are sun sensitive, this place is perfect. And what is not to love about paddling about under a huge, ancient oak tree? I will say that I was not particularly excited about having to walk by a large party on the way out of the park - boom box music blaring, and one woman screaming on her cell phone using language totally inappropriate when kids are around. I'm not a prude - I swear too - but hey, there's a time and place, and at a park full of kids is not the right time or place. In reading over my review, I sound more negative than I really intended to be - the park really is nice, lots of families and little kids running around. We just happened to have a few mildly unpleasant interactions on the day we went. Nothing major in the big scheme of things. read more

Very relaxing and they have five grills with picnic tables have a picnic and barbeque with you family. This is a really great hidden place in south congress area. Very well shaded area as every has mentioned on here. They have bath rooms available here. The playground is safe for the children to play on. It was just very nice to have a place to relax while the kids get their energy out. read more

Took the kiddo here for the first time today for a playdate. Love the shade! Why don't all Texas playgrounds have shade? This particular shade is provided by big, lovely trees, and comes with a cooling breeze. The playground is in good repair, and is far enough off the road that the kids have to work to get into trouble. There are some paved paths that wind around that are great for trikes and bikes. I wish the pool was open, but I'm looking forward to checking it out on our next adventure. read more

The little pool at Little Stacy is so much fun! The pool isn't very deep so you don't have to worry too much if you have little ones that haven't completely mastered the art of swimming yet. I think it is maybe 2ft deep at it's deepest part. They also have a lifeguard on duty. The pool opens at 1pm but it is closed on Wednesday. The park is really nice too. They have a big play structure and picnic benches in the shade. I love this park! read more

I wish I would have found this earlier in the summer!! We love Little Stacy Pool!! I would've given it 5 stars, but due to the short amount of time it's open, I had to knock it down and the fact the bathrooms are kind of a trot. However, we have always had a pleasant experience while visiting the pool. The lifeguards are always polite, and one saved my pretzel stix from a rogue squirrel... Yep. Better watch out if you bring snacks, the squirrels & birds work together to get your snacks!! The water is always "just right", not cold like Barton Springs and not too warm. The 9" shallow end is perfect for my 17 month old, and pretty great for me, too. My 3 year old typically hangs out in the "deep end", all 2 feet of it. Just a nice little pool that's free next to a quiet, secluded park. read more

I have to admit it. I love little parks. This park is especially nice with the trees that off such goo shade for my car and me! It was a quite warm day in Austin and I just wanted to stop and read for a while. The shade was wonderful and the small breeze made it nice. There was a tennis courts and playground for little children and a constant flow of runners, mos with babes and workers (it was the lunch hour) yet still a wonderful peace to it all. The squirrels are quite feisty and literally get in your face, looking for goodies I am sure, then disappear up the trees. If I were a local this would be a wonderful spot to visit again and again. read more

Best free swimming pool and park for little kids in Austin, hands down. Great big trees. Just the right size. Deep enough for me to sit in and have fun, not too deep that my three year old can't stand up anywhere in the pool. Lifeguard on duty as well. Huge playground. Closed Mondays. Would be 5 stars if it was open for longer during the year. May in Texas is always going to be hot enough for a swim! Recent trip to the dry pool rather disappointing. Anyway, the opening dates/hours for 2010 are June 8 through August 20, Tuesday to Sunday (closed Monday), noon to 7pm. These dates/hours are NOT on the Austin Parks website. Anyhow (remembering from last summer) little Stacy is a wonderful pool for babies and small children. It is under a big tree and almost totally shaded. I never had a problem with parking on weekdays, though not sure if I ever tried on a weekend. I never found the kids playing there rough like some of the other reviewers did. Boisterous at most, and occasionally lacking parents nearby, true. Little Stacy is small enough and shallow enough (and with the rep of being a "baby pool") that I'd guess most kids over 10 would prefer to be at Big Stacy instead. read more

I love this park. It's surrounded and covered by trees providing just the right shade from the Texas sun. The parkground's various playscapes accomodates our baby who's 10 months to a 12 year old! This is also a tennis court and a volleyball court for older kids/adults. When we stumbled upon this park, it felt like we discovered a well kept secret. It wasn't crowded when we went and it I'll be perfect in the summer bc the playground is mostly in the shade. There was a little pool that had no water. This is a super cute neighborhood park! Fairly small but very nice! Has a cute little trail and a little stream! A beautiful bridge takes you to a small area with a playground, basketball court, and tennis courts! Has a few benches and tables around the park! Little Stacy is a favorite for my 3-year-old and has been since she could toddle. We also have play groups there and we love it. The pool is awesome in the summer months. The nice big trees shade the pool and the playground. Wide sidewalks are great for bike learners. Lots of gravel for scooping, when they are little. A great playscape. Tennis courts are nice too, if you play, or if they are empty, you can bring balls and let the kids run around on them. I have nothing but good things to say about this park. It's fabulous! read more
