I love this shop! It's easy to navigate, in a fantastic location, the staff are friendly, prices are fair, and best of all, they carry Sanrio toys and gifts. I purchased the cutest Hello Kitty purse for a stylish 3-year-old who will love it. It was a much more pleasant experience than trying to hustle through Chinatown and seek out some knock-off version. they used to have another store for adult kids where you could always find a sweet little something, for someone, somewhere, at the last moment. briana m. broke something at the other store when she was little, so being a responsible parent i went to fess up and pay for it. i was flabbergasted when they told me to forget about it! that was the beginning of a beautiful relationship although i'm not certain i ever did train those unlucky kids to look with their eyes, not their hands! so when i come to this store to buy something for a kid of any age, it's usually at the last moment of course, yet i could always find that special something like the wee porcelain dolls for a song, to be wrapped in gossamer with magic wands and shiny sparkle stars, or knights in armor "action figures" for those who admire the romance of arthurian tales, or beautifully rendered animal figures of all sorts, perhaps enough to load on an ark. baby toys of all kinds and educational toys to bring out the hidden genius. as for the employees, they have always been exceedingly patient and helpful considering some of the tantrums they are subjected to. I will absolutely not be returning to this store as I was racially profiled along with a friend of mine, this evening. I have been a patron since childhood and I was looking to show my friend unique items this store offers. We had spent about 15 minutes browsing when an older woman who entered the store and immediately, and quite over-zealously asked us if we needed any help. Her true intentions were transparent. We continued to shop because we had every right to as potential paying customers. She returned to us twice within about five minutes to ask what we were looking for and actually stood about 10 feet behind us for the remainder of our time in the store. A group of white shoppers entered and headed straight to the back and this woman did not give them so much as a second glance; she continued to watch us which made it apparent that we weren't welcome. Absolutely despicable behavior. This was blatant racism and discrimination and I will not be convinced otherwise. I was made to feel very uncomfortable. What is most disturbing is that this is a store for children and I guarantee that I am not the first person to experience this. read more

RUDE staff. More concerned about how their toys are displayed look than giving customers an opportunity to shop.

Interesting, good selection of toys (albeit expensive).... But the salespeople are unbelievably morose and unhelpful. Whatever the opposite of "warm" is. They seem irritated when you come in the store. I always feel like I'm imposing on them by coming in. They should perk up-- it's a toy store, not a funeral parlor. read more

Today I entered the store and was very upset at the way a manager was talking to a customer. I have visited both location on several occasions and I have personally witness the same manager speak to multiply customers and other employees in a nasty manner. Because of this I will never recommend any of the Little things toy store to anyone. If this is the way that business is ran I will spend my money else where. read more

Pretty good. And, strangely, pretty much the ONLY game in Park Slope, which is packed with kids -- go figure. Prices are standard (meaning, not competitive). So you will get better prices at Amazon. But this is a good local store. Kids love it. It is VERY cramped, usually very warm to hot, and things are constantly being re-organized. Staff is fairly friendly. They are tolerant of kids who, of course, want to check things out by hand. So .... solid but nothing to rave about. Still, head and shoulders over the mad houses of Manhattan. read more

This place is amazing. I will never walk into a Toys r us again. I felt like I was being spoiled. I went in there, urgently needing gifts and the staff was extremely helpful with their advice (amazing gift wrapping I might add). Very broad product selection including unique items. read more

The toys here are reasonably priced, for Park Slope. This store also offers hard to find brands and plenty of familiar toy brands, such as Mattel. I have one major complaint about this store. It is that the regular staff members, who have been working her for many years, can be surly at times. If they were more jovial and willing to be helpful, this store would be even more successful than it is. The other complaint, which is not as major, but still significant, is that this store when crowded cannot fit strollers in it. The aisles are too narrow when they are filled with people. On the upside, this store has every toy imaginable. The variety of toys is what makes me give this store 4 stars. read more

The service here is awful. The salespeople are not at all attentive, not speedy and VERY rude. Be careful not to be overcharged at the register -- this happened to me today and the salesperson was combative with me when I pointed it out. With so many great toy stores in Park Slope, this would be my last choice. The selection is good but the salespeople are awful and I can't justify spending any money there. There are usually three salespeople, two talking about themselves and then one ringing up people when their is a long line. Skip it, they just aren't worth it. read more

Great selection. Great staff. A little crowded and hard to get around on the weekends, but that's to be expected. They are open early on Sundays, which is an added plus for last-minute birthday gifts. They get our business and our full support. read more

The unhappiest toy store! The salespeople there are so mean, rude and grumpy, even to each other. They sit and discuss how miserable the customers are right in front of you. One poor stock boy that was working one day was horribly insulted in front of all of the customers being yelled at to just leave that he was a complete idiot. Unfortunately, the store is so central and well stocked that people shop there anyway rather than to head into manhattan for toys. They should fire the entire staff and start fresh. read more

No Stars if I could.... I went in to buy a Skuut bike for my nephew at Little Things. I like to support local stores. The service started off well. A gentlemen went across the street to their storage unit right away to get me one. He returned promptly. I was a pretty simple customer. I knew what I wanted; quick sale for the store. I asked to have it gift wrapped and all hell broke lose... the saleswoman selected the wrapping paper, a purple print. I told her it was for my nephew and asked if there was any other color option. She immediately bit my head off, "Purple is for boys too. We've been doing this a long time. Pshh. " Okay lady. I'm a teacher and very open to kids selecting any color they want so I do understand that boys can like the color purple. However, in this moment I was the paying customer, making an inquiry, and I felt the judgment from the staff was really uncalled for. Not to mention, the face she gave me...it matched this thought: "You snobby, white, entitled, park slope witch. How dare you tell me what color to wrap this gift". Her facial expression was one of complete disgust. I felt embarrassed for a moment and didn't push the issue. Then I noticed that the box my gift was in had some tape on it. I wanted to make sure the box wasn't opened/damaged. I asked if I could take a look before she wrapped the gift. Again I was met with a look of death. She said, "What do you think? We wouldn't give you a damaged box." ....Said the lady who works at a store with a return policy that reads: Store credit only. Things were clearly not going well for me at this store. I thought about not purchasing the item. I googled Toys R US on my blackberry but the store was sold out of skuuts, so I felt stuck. I guess its good that Little Things had an item that is in such demand. To top it all off, the sales lady added a purple bow to the gift. This rubbed me the wrong way. I asked if she could add some green ribbon that I could see hanging on the wall. "No, that's balloon ribbon, not wrapping ribbon." Fine. I paid an left with sour taste in my mouth. I called the store later to talk to the manager about the customer service I had received. I had some difficulty being transferred to the manager at first. I did reach a woman, who was nice enough, but also sounded like the same lady I was dealing with in the store. So, I'm submitting this comment. The customer service was awful. I won't be returning to the store....that's approximately 70 less sales as I am an early childhood educator and attend close to 70 birthdays a year! read more
