My first visit to Little Tibet was on a cold February evening when it was almost empty. I had a nice conversation with the owner who told about his 5-star chef from India and some Tibetan traditions. My second visit was this past Friday evening when it was almost full. The service was still fast and friendly, and I got to speak to the owner again while I paid my bill. The restaurant seats about 40 people with exposed brick (which turned out to be wallpaper), large windows and a brown decor, but did not include many of the usual Tibetan flags or pictures. There is a small bar at the back, and the washroom was nice and clean. There is a tv that shows CP24, and there was music quietly playing in the background this time. The menu is quite extensive, including pretty much every dish I have had at other Tibetan restaurants along with lots of Indian choices, mostly $10-13 each. The first time, I had the Phing-Sha: a bowl of bean thread noodles, beef, potato and black mushrooms in gravy, served with both rice and tingmo (2 steamed buns). There was a little bit of everything, and it was all delicious. Most of their drinks are cheap, but the bartender had not yet arrived, so I just had a $4 Budweiser. My total bill was only $18, including a free cup of butter tea. The owner also suggested the Fish Fry ($13) as one of their specialties, so that is what I had on my second visit. The dish is pieces of battered and fried fish served dry with rice. While the fish was very tasty and the rice was a lot, the lack of sauce or gravy left the rice a little bland. Each meal was preceded by a bowl of shrimp chips, and the butter tea was free again. Overall, another great addition to the list of Tibetan restaurants to choose from in Parkdale, and I will definitely be back. read more

I ordered 2 items from the store. Fried Rice and Chilli Garlic Noodle. They accepted my order only to not receive fried rice. That was the main dish I wanted and this is extremely disappointing. If you don't have the dish, don't accept the order. or double check the order before sending. I would not be ordering again. read more

This Tibetan restaurant has a prominent picture of the Dalai Lama so you know they are (probably) really Tibetans. The food is ok. 16 Then-Thuk with beef (17 Gya-Thuk has the same soup but a different noodle) tasted like a homemade noodle soup. 21 Little Tibet Special Phing-Sha was interesting. It tasted nourishing. It was nice but my dining partner thought it needed salt & she's very sensitive to salt. Curiously, it tasted like nonya chap chye. Pork pan fried momos had thicker skin than gyozas. Their online menu is outdated - they don't have sets with ting mo anymore. read more

Ordered veggie and beef momos today. Pros: beef momos are dense. Likely lean ground beef vs regular. Veggies weee made out of a spinach wrapper. And they are stuffed full! Both were substantial sized momos. 10 in an order. Cons: a bit more expensive than other places Veggie was cabbage, carrots I think potatoes. So nothing too exciting in the filling except the wrapper! I think the beef here is better than the veggie. Their sauce is good, nothing too different. So A-OK read more

Wasn't intending on going here originally, but the places we were originally going (Sugo) had a 1.5 hour wait. This place blew away all expectations. So to be honest we'd never had Tibetan food before so didn't know what to expect. For appetizers we had the beef patties. Compared to traditional Jamaican patties the beef was better (minced not ground), the pastry was thicker, and fluffier vs flaky, and there was a nice hot sauce that came with them. For entrees we had the beef curry on rice and chili chicken on rice. Compared to really good beef curries at Chinese restauraunts, this was on point (not worse) but not better. For the chili chicken, I try chili chicken anywhere I go. I had a go-to spot that very few places can hold a candle too, but to be honest this was possibly the best chili chicken I've ever had. We ordered the chili chicken dry, there was no option to get it on fried rice but the moistness, the flavor, and the temperature of the chili chicken was supreme. read more

This is an excellent eatery in the "Little Tibet" neighborhood near Parkdale. My friend and I received free orange juice when they had run out of free tea, and were very happy with the quality and price point of the food we got. I had tofu eggplant and some kind of other vegetable for $9 (Canadian dollars so like $7.2 USD at that time), and it was a substantial portion with a delicious taste. We had outdoor seating which was great; there was a short delay in getting the food, but the attitude of the staff was so good in other respects that I won't take off points for that. (EDIT: I want to note that the establishment reached out to me with a very gracious and receptive reply to this review after it was initially posted, which is a big credit to them in my opinion!) It turned out I had arrived for dinner on opening day; the quality of the service and food was such a success that I did not notice that this was not already a very well-established restaurant! This is a solid establishment that offers a great menu that will give you a "Little Tibet" experience worth having. We basically walked an hour across town with the hopes of seeing what "Little Tibet" was all about and we weren't disappointed. If you're coming from the east, try coming down through Kensington Market and Dundas St West, and checking out the Trinity Bellwoods Park on the way. In the Queen West area looking for delicious Tibetan eats and came across Little Tibet. Had read favourable reviews in the past and was looking forward to a good meal. Wish I could comment on their food but I never made beyond their patio entrance. Looked like the cook and servers were hanging out on the patio...couldn't get past the grunts we received when we asked if they were open...no one moved to let us into the restaurant. Not a warm welcome at all. Lucky for us that there are so many other good options within walking distance. read more

I've been going here for a few years now (well, before the Pandemic and after things got better) and I have to say it's one of my favourite restaurants in the city. Higher prices, very large menu (including alcohol), decent customer service, quality of food mostly good. Several friends and I decided to try a new Tibetan restaurant while we were in the area, so we ended up here. Based on what I ordered, the soup that I got tasted like hot & sour soup, while it was supposed to be a specialty soup having a bit of a different taste. I ordered chicken momos which cost $1 less than the beef ones and $1 more than the vegetable ones, yet they seemed to be the smallest compared to the other two varieties, which my friends ordered. The mango lassi that I ordered had a mostly icy texture, so it seems that the ice that they added to it wasn't completely blended. This place closed at 10 P.M., yet they let my friends and I stay there to finish up past closing time without pushing us to get going. All-in-all, I mostly liked this place, even though comparing it to the usual Tibetan restaurant I go to in the area, while this one had a way way bigger menu, I prefer the mango lassi at my usual spot, as well as their large soups (although the size is respective to the price between the two places, so I'm not complaining about that here), as well as the consistent sizes and pricing across all of the momos (all flavours the same price and size at my usual Tibetan restaurant unlike at this one). read more

Heard about great Tibetan food but never tried it until I went to Little Tibet restaurant. Their service was superb, really quick and friendly. The waitress was quick to bring out the water and even the complimentary freshly made rice chips. We ordered the chilli chicken, momos and a Tibetan curry dish with sauce. The chilli chicken was amazeballs, never had better. It was a dry chilli chicken, but of course still had sauce on it. The chicken was still crispy, even with the sauce. I like that it was served with rice (as opposed to having to order rice in addition). The momos were freshly made and tasted amazing. I'm only deducting a star because there is a lack of momos. If however you are into Tibetan dining and not too hung up on the momo experience and would like to dabble further than this is a great place to eat. The many food options (especially for vegans) is something to behold. The seasoning and flavours are something to marvel at as they are truly out of this world. I ordered steamed beef momos, beef chilli momos (2thumbs up) and the veg butter chicken momos. Now that it's freezing outside my cravings for spicy comfort food has begun. Tibetan food was all I wanted but I decided to try a new place other than my usual. Little Tibet restaurant is a new one and there was some tables occupied when we walked by it, which was a good sign so we decided to go there. The restaurant is very simply decorated, with a cozy and brightly lit interior. The server was very friendly and attentive. To my disappointment they did not have my go-to, which is the thali. So we decided to first order the vegetable momo's as usual. Then I ordered the prawn chilli, which was made in a chilli garlic sauce and served with rice. My friend ordered the sweet and spicy tofu and a side of tingmo. While we waited we got a basket of complimentary fried crackers/chips (wasn't really sure what they were, but they were good). The momo's arrived first with hot sauce and pickles. Now the momo's were a disappointment. The stuffing was very boring and was nothing in comparison to what we have had at other locations. Our mains were served soon after. Portion sizes were great, enough for one person. My prawns were really flavourful and spicy. It definitely hit the spot. The tofu was also good, according to my friend. However, he said he preferred the tofu he usually gets from our usual Himalayan Kitchen. Prices were comparable to the other establishments around. Overall, I would definitely come here again for the prawns and friendly service, but not for vegetarian momo's. read more

First Tibetan I have tried in the city. The restaurant is small, but very clean. Dishes are very reasonably priced and portion sizes are decent. They offer a variety of different dishes, with their Momos being a must try. Great place for a chilly day in the city. read more

Located in the "L" of a small plaza that faces onto Queen Street the place is really a big box with windows looking out to Queen Street and to the parking lot of the plaza. Behind all the tables out front is a bar in the back and behind that the kitchen. The decor featured brick walled wallpaper and lots of wood that really didn't speak to any Tibetan decor. The menu featured all the food expected from a Tibetan place and I ordered some ting mo and the chilli fish in gravy while my friend had one of their beef specials and a coriander soup. The service was attentive and polite and the amount of food fit the price. While the food was more fragrant and subtle and not as hot as I am used to it was still good enough to warrant a future visit. read more

Was so disappointed with the food (chicken fried rice) hardly had any chicken in it, sprinkled with half frozen peas ) and chilli chicken was little better than the rest. Unassuming little restaurant in a slightly unpleasant area with really good food. We had momos, pork, eggplant and fish dishes and all had varying degrees of spicy-ness. I would go back to this restaurant any day!! My partner and I got the veggie udon noodles and the sizzling sweet and sour chicken, and it was definitely sizzlin!! The food here is amazing. I had a veggie gyathuk and a serving of tingmo and they were both so delicious and fresh. Not to mention it's crazy cheap for super generous portions; my boyfriend and I paid about 20 bucks in total and we could barely finish half of what was on our plates. Go to Tashi Delek instead! I had a meeting in Parkdale and wanted to scout out a nice Tibetan restaurant for when I have friends visiting next month. This place is relatively new and looks very nice/clean, so I tried it. It was kind of early, so I was the only customer. I ordered a noodle and beef dish. And that is what I got, spaghetti noodles in a red sauce, with a few small pieces of fatty beef. So the dish was +95% spaghetti noodles, for 10 bucks! The taste of the sauce was really yucky, made somewhat better by putting on a lot of hot sauce. I didn't finish it. Even tho I was the ONLY customer, and there seemed to be 4-5 people working there, they never came back to my table after giving me the noodle dish. Eventually I went up to the bar to pay. I guess that is how this restaurant works, maybe they could actually tell customers that. So this place looks a lot cleaner and newer that other restaurants in the area, but the food and service suck. For my money I will just keep going back to Tashi Delek, a hole in the wall with amazing Tibetan food! read more

We live so close to Little Tibet and can't believe it took us one year to try it out! We have never had Tibetan food before apart from momos, we ordered beef momo, spicy chicken wings and the Shap-Ta with grace (server recommended this dish). There ARE vegan options outside of "vegandale" (Parkdale!) and this place has some of the absolute best. Little Tibet has quickly become one of our favourite spots on Queen West for Tibetan food when we aren't necessarily craving momos. Highly recommend the Hot and Spicy Tofu as a starter. Chewy, meaty and spicy/sweet triangles of deliciousness! The Vegetable Manchurian is an authentic hakka dish made of these croquettes, for lack of a better word, in a mildly spicy sauce and served with steamed rice. VERY tasty! Another superb dish is the Tofu, Broccoli and Eggplant, which by the name does not sound at all exciting. In fact, the very helpful server actually suggested it as we passed over it initially. Well let me tell you, this is a delicious flavour explosion! The eggplant is cooked to perfection, broccoli crisp but not TOO crisp, and the tofu is similar to that of the Hot and Spicy as mentioned earlier. Crazy good, and also served with steamed rice. There was only one dish on the menu that I wasn't wowed by, and that was the Mixed Market Vegetables. It was just not as flavourful as other options, but I won't hold that against them because their menu is wonderful. Tried this place for the first time the other day for lunch and it was great! Had veggie & chicken Momos, Thein-Tuk & Shaptak. Everything was fresh tasting & delicious, good size servings as well. Price is also pretty decent, it ended up being about $40 for all of that (which filled up 3 adults). The super sweet chef also prepared a special plate of honey chicken wings and curly fries as a treat for my nephew who LOVED them. (I stole a bite too, they were bomb.) read more

My partner and I stumbled upon this new restaurant in Parkdale, when our "go-to" and "back-up" Tibetan restaurants were closed on the Monday of the Lunar New Year. Actually, all other Tibentan spots were closed for the holiday and we had a hankering, so we were so happy to find it open! We knew it had recently opened up in the neighbourhood but hadn't heard much about it. The owner was SUPER friendly, attentive and even brought us some complimentary butter tea and cookies for the Lunar NY.
