Three members of my family recently started Invisalign here, and the application of the brackets was a disaster. They were put on so haphazardly that they look like a toddler did them--they stick out so far that they look bizarre and are incredibly sharp. As an adult who works in a business setting, I am actually embarrassed to take my trays out for dinner because the hardware on my teeth looks so ridiculous. Both of my children were in tears the night they were applied because the brackets were sticking so far into their aligners and tearing up their gums. We had a great experience with an independent orthodontist in another state, so we know this isn't how Invisalign is supposed to feel or look. Furthermore, at our last appointment, after waiting 25 minutes past our time, they gave my son someone else's Invisalign. They didn't realize the mistake until they called me hours later asking me to bring them back because the actual patient was there waiting for them. I saw his full name and information on the box. It's clear this office is part of a private equity-backed group (Lightwave Dental) that cares more about volume and speed than quality care. Alpine/Lightwave - Treat your providers and staff better so they can take care of their patients. These are obviously good people who are doing their best in a system where the bottom line is pushing them into a terrible experience for everyone.

However, the front desk lady and the doctor, Sabine Schtakleff could have been more representative of excellent customer service. Here is the story - my wife had a tooth pulled by this doctor over a year and a half ago. She needed a filling for one of her teeth and scheduled an appointment with this doctor's office. She shows up, checks in, and has the procedure; when checking out with the same front desk clerk, she pays the 500$ and then is introduced to a unique yearly program called the 2023 Prime Membership plan. You pay an annual fee, and you get the services mentioned - it's a great idea! It also provides 10% off of procedures not part of the plan. But wait, you just charged us 500$. Could we have used this on that procedure?NOPE. Sorry, I told you about this program after your procedure the same day, and second, you charged me 500.00. So what are we talking about, 50$, right? Okay, so we went in for cleaning three days after the filling, and I spoke to the front desk clerk. I inquired how come, my wife, was not presented with this program when she checked in three days ago? She said someone had made a mistake! - Ahh.. wait a minute, you are the person that checked her in - so it was you who made a mistake. So no issue yet, I figured I would l talk to the dentist, and clearly, the front clerk warned her about this situation. She was very defensive and continued to talk in circles about,"Oh, we don't go back and correct bills from the past ", But wait, this was the exact second after I was charged. This sound like a horrible business practice. I finally had to stop her from circling around and around. She was under the impression that we just got this paper advertisement today and not three days ago. I get it. If it was after she left the office and a month later was introduced to this plan, then of course! But that is not the situation. What should have happened three days earlier was this - "Hey, you know we have this new program, and if you sign up today, we can give you 10% off today's procedure and future procedures. So you should consider it since you do not have insurance." So I finally say, you won't credit me 50.00 and run the risk of losing a customer. YEP! she started with the circle BS, and I finally said to my wife - okay, what do you want to do. So she got out of the chair, and we walked out, taking our paperwork. Now here is the business thing! All she had to do was say - oh, okay, I didn't realize you were not offered this when you checked in. I would be happy to credit you the 50.00, and we can be a long-lasting relationship. But NO! So sad to see professionals need more business sense regarding customer satisfaction. The big kicker is that when talking to the hygienist, we discussed the possibilities of two implants, and I know those are about 5K each. Your loss, intelligent business person! Good Job!

I think I was more nervous than the kids to try out a new dentist after moving here, but in the end, I had nothing to worry about. First, from a special needs prospective, the staff here can't be beat. There were two technicians working on my daughter and they did an amazing job of putting her at ease while doing the cleaning. Cleaning can be difficult and traumatic for someone who cannot easily open their mouth, lean in this way, tell when it hurts, etc. I was able to sit with her legs in my lap on the chair, and she was relaxed and did not express discomfort at any point. I really appreciated the time and care they gave to my daughter. For my other two, this was the little guy's first appointment, and my middle's first experience with cavities! Again, both instances were far better than expected. The staff is very friendly and patient, which is refreshing when a lot of their day can be accompanied by screaming children. I've never seen anyone "frazzled' or impatient, and they are incredibly receptive to discomfort or fear. The waiting room is great, and the best part--they give tokens to take to the prize machines after the cleaning! My middle child still talks about how fun that is. If I had to offer a criticism (always leave room for improvement, right?) the bar stools in the private rooms are not super comfortable. They have great comfy benches and magazines in the general cleaning area. I cannot recommend Dr. Chandak and the staff at Brooks & Chandak enough. Dr. Chandak went out of her way to explain how everyone's cleaning habits and growth were progressing, and what we could do at home to improve their dental health. Incredibly kind and professional.

My husband has had multiple jobs over these years, so I've switched insurance companies multiple times. I have never had any problems having my insurance processed at any point (we go at least twice a year). A couple of years ago, I moved to North Raleigh, but we continue to use Dr. Venezie, that's how happy I am with the services he provides.
