We stayed here during Fantasy Fest, paying over $10,000 for what was supposed to be a premium property -- instead, it turned into a nightmare. There was major construction directly across the street that we were never informed about, waking us up every morning at 7 AM and blocking our entrance with work vehicles. Their excessive power use caused multiple electrical outages, forcing us to relocate our staff for an entire day. We reached out to Alina, our assigned representative, multiple times and never received a single call back -- there was zero communication the entire stay. Then on checkout morning, exactly at 10:00 AM, Alena, the property manager, stormed into the home unannounced, banging on every door like she was the police, yelling for us to get up, and threatening to call law enforcement. She was extremely aggressive and confrontational, giving major attitude while we were still half-asleep after working 18-hour days all week. Moments later, she brought in her manager Joyce, who escalated the situation even further -- yelling, pointing her fingers in our faces, refusing to let us close the door, and repeatedly threatening that she "knows the PD" and would make sure we go to jail. This was harassment, intimidation, and a complete violation of our privacy and safety. For the amount we paid, the lack of professionalism, communication, and respect was appalling. We will be filing a formal report with Airbnb and strongly urge anyone considering this property to stay far away until the management is replaced.

The rental (through RentKeyWest Vacations) was very pricey (about 5K). The tough part of renting at Key West is whether to go close to town, or close to the beach. We went with the beach and I think it was a good decision. Though we had to get in a car to get to the restaurants and Duvall area, walking into your condo street-side, to look through and see swaying palm trees through the condo-width windows beach-side is worth the $. The condos are literally 30 feet from the water. The balconies are the entire width of the condo, with half the balcony attached to the main living area, and the other half attached to the master bedroom. The parking is very convenient, and there is a pool on each end of the small condos. It's a gated complex, so it feels very secure. Although they are not new, my rental (#204) was updated and well-decorated. It's also about a quarter mile to the stop of one of those hop-on, hop-off tourist trolleys, so you can get away without having a car as long as the trolleys are running, and there are plenty of cabs for later hours. Overall, very comfortable and beautiful accommodations.

This company is the worst selection you can make for your vacations…read more We rent all years a property in the keys and the last time we selected a property manage by "America Caribbean Real Estate" and it was the worst experience we had in our entire life. They had a complete lack of responsiveness. We call several times to get the wireless key to connect to the internet until we desists, so at the end we have to use our smart phones to navigate on the network. Last day, in the checkout they call the police department of Key Colony City to count heads to see if we have more persons that the ones included in the contract. Beside the very bad attitude of the police, in front our children, we were 8 instead of the 9 in the contract. Ridiculous!!! The agent, named Leslie Christensen, was the most un-professional real estate agent we had sought in our life (we were under the impression of a company in the 3rd world). As part of the checkout process, she started, in front of us, to look for reasons to take money from the deposit. At the end there were no reasons at all but you got the feeling of people stealing your money in front of your face. A week later we received the deposit back, and, as expected, they took 25% of the money with the simple reason the cleaning company have to use more laundry loads as the expected. How can be possible you can use more than the bath towels provides by the home owner? Of course, we tried to contact them with no response at all. We submitted a complaint to the BBB and are waiting for the process. This company doesn't care about their customers beyond the money they can take from their deposit. We DO NOT recommend this company at all. In the 20 years we have been in the keys, sometimes more than once in a year, we never sought something like this and unfortunately they ruined our week.

We have rented large properties for the whole family for a month or more and small condos for short trips. Every experience has been perfect for the occasion. One of the best things about working with Historic Hideaways is that there are no hidden fees. When you request a booking, the cleaning fees are already included. We recommend Historic Hideaways to friends and family. My brother's family is now a regular Historic Hideaways customer, as well.
