The cleanliness, view, amenities, trails, peacefulness, so many positives... very little negatives... I cannot wait to get back to this gem!

We spent four nights at The Little Valley Mountain Resort in the Snowshoe Lodge cabin in May of 2023! First of all; There is nothing little about this resort. The grounds are expansive. The views are panoramic. The cabins are situated on generous 1 acre lots. This place is Mega Great! Our stay was above and beyond anything we ever imagined. We could not have loved it MORE. We drove up to our cabin on spectacular winding roads surrounded by mother natures most majestic landscapes. The word cabin is a misnomer. This was a large, high ceiling home, designed with warm honey colored wood ceilings and floors with huge windows everywhere! Breathtaking vistas of the glorious Great Smoky Mountains are visible from both inside and outside the cabin. We were thrilled as we walked into this gorgeous appointed cabin with high end leather sofas, dining table, stone fireplace, comfy chairs, sofa pillows, rocking chairs and artwork everywhere. There was a huge hot tub on the main balcony, bubbling away, waiting for us too. Before we moved our luggage in, we sank into the leather couch and gazed out the amazing windows in the cathedral ceiling! Then we stepped outside to the breezy, shaded deck and breathed in the Smoky Mountains air and marveled at the view.  We were in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and we could see all the ridges and mountaintops for miles from our two beautiful decks on both floors. The views just knocked our socks off. My husband's first look out our balcony delighted him as he saw 3 beautiful black bears roaming 40 feet beneath us on the forest floor. People drive many miles and hours just to view these majestic animals in the Smoky Mountain National Park! Don't worry...We never encountered them face to face. The birds-eye view of the Tennessee hills from the Snowshoe Lodge was the best. The kitchen is complete with every thing you would ever need. The furniture is beautiful & perfectly arranged too. The inside of our cabin smelled like a breath of fresh mountain air, not the scent from a can of Glade. Every room was immaculately clean & fresh. The 3 bedrooms and bathrooms were large with generous amounts of space for luggage and clothing. Little Valley Mountain Resort grounds are meticulously kept. It is a secluded jewel with 300 plus acres of grassy knolls, hiking trails, waterfall streams, a beautiful pool and so many amenities I cannot list them all. The entire resort was a feast for our eyes amongst these verdant woodland hills. Little Valley Mountain Resort is nestled away from the crowds & bustle of town so you can enjoy the serenity of the Smoky mountains. It's only a short drive to The Smoky Mountain National Park, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. I cannot leave out there is a Par 3 golf course, Putt Putt courses, tennis & pickle ball courts, a lodge and quaint chapel in this gem called Little Valley Mountain Resort. We cannot wait to return.

BED BUGS AT CABIN "ABOVE THE FALLS" I'd advise everyone to read the good and bad reviews and make your own personal decision but definitely don't believe the company's responses! All the bad reviews we read were true. My mother who was with us got the cabin for our family vacation and we had other family coming up with us late that weekend. We checked in around 5:30pm got situated and started to enjoy our long weekend. First we saw a cockroach then found other critters crawling around wasn't to worried but it gets worse. Luckily we are locals and live a little of a hour away otherwise we would have been sleeping in our cars because it's was 12 at night. One of my relatives that were with the 6 of us was going to bed around 11pm when she noticed 2 dead and one alive BED BUG in the upstairs bed. Called the on call number told them the issue, we put them in a plastic bad and he questioned us if we were for sure it was a bed bug. NOTE that the relative with us is qualified to confirm what it was do to dealing with cases like these at her job. It has been reported to the Tennessee health department for investigation. The guy on the phone asked us if we wanted to continue to stay the night knowing we found bed bugs with picture proof. Then after he told us there was no other available cabins he could transfer us too, he continued to tell us to go stay at a Marriot hotel. Worst experience ever. Nothing was cleaned except the bathroom everything was dusty, floors were dusty it look like they cleaned it a month prior and it's been sitting ever since. Will never be back hopefully they resolve the issue but after reading responses to other reviews about bed bug and people getting bit they deny it all and say they didn't find anything and continue to explain it's a cabin in the woods and there is random bugs that bite in all of there cabins. Would hate to be an out of town person or someone that flew in for vacation. Wasted our time and ruined our long weekend. So much for everyone taking that's Friday off.

We have stayed here twice. What a wonderful way to celebrate family and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Each room was very private with great big comfy beds. The kitchen has everything you need. The living room is spacious and relaxing. We especially enjoyed the upstairs media/play room to spend time with our granddaughters. Hiking within the resort is peaceful and a great workout!

    Lovely handicapped accessible viewing dock!

We had a little mother/daughter getaway this past weekend and it was wonderful! The cabin was clean, and spacious. It does mention 4 bedroom but one bed is a bunk bed in an open area- this suited our party perfect but other groups may prefer more privacy. We had a wheelchair dependent guest and the main floor was well accommodated, although the shower was kinda small for her needs. The hottub was amazing and our kids loved "swimming" each day. The water pressure was low and had a sulfur smell, but it was not too bad. The air hockey table and arcade game did not work, but wifi seemed fine for the kids. All tv's are smart, and we connected to those too. All in All, it was an absolute blast, we will be returning to Little Valley for sure! Contact free check-in is also available! Close to the attractions but far enough away from the hustle and bustle too!!

    Their vision of a closet

Just OK !!! This cabin Morning Mist is in need of some serious updating. We were able to make do since it was a short visit and thankfully our friends were staying at another cabin. It never would have cut it for 4 people, barely accommodated 2. The kitchen is a Mirco Kitchen. I've actually seen bigger ones in hotels and RV's no joke. The staff is very friendly and the cabin was very peaceful. Definitely a plus. We were happy about the hot tub and were thankful for the relief it gave our aching backs after a long drive but this too was only fair as the the pulsating jet wasn't working, but again very much appreciated it. The living room furniture is very comfortable and the wood burning fireplace was wonderful and added to the cozy environment and the internet actually worked. But that's about all the positives I could muster up and I really tried. Now the negatives which are more than the positives sadly. There is not one closet or dresser to organize your clothes. They have coat racks with hangers in each bedroom- seriously !!!! what !!!!! I was floored. I guess you're supposed to live out your suitcase ??? For almost 1200.00 for 3 nights I would at least expect a proper place to keep my clothes. We are really easygoing and I don't think that is much to ask for. They really cheaped out on many aspects of this cabin and charge way too much for what they offer. The downstairs carpet is not only old but also dirty, smelly and torn. Who has shag carpet anymore anyway - come on !!! The toilet is gross looking with rust stains and has constant water around the bottom. The utensils all needed rewashing prior to use. This place needs a major renovation. The pictures are very deceiving with their mini appliances. I guess next time I will need to ask if the appliances are a standard size and if there are any clothes closets or dressers lol. Who would think this would not be part of a home - go figure !!! No, not worth the money at all. Very disappointed

view on the deck of our log cabin

We went during October to see the foliage and it was amazing. The log cabin we rented was for my family and I (6 people total) but it could honestly fit more! Each bed could fit 3 adults max. There were 3 rooms. One of which had a bunk bed and a couch. It looked like an area that was appropriate for kids to stay in. The hot tub was clean, there were toiletries provided (toilet paper, soap, some detergent, etc.). The kitchen had utensils, plates, pots, and pans. The only thing we ever needed to buy was our own food which we did in a Publix about 10-15 mins away. Gatlinburg is about 45-50 mins out. The service was great because my dad actually left something in the cabin and the cabin owner helped find it for us and mailed it right to our billing address! We paid for the mailing fee of course but it was nice of them to find it for us. I'm also glad the place is pet friendly because our little dog could stay with us and enjoy the nature. This was our first time staying in a log cabin and would definitely go to this place again. It was simple and quiet.

This Place is Amazing , we stayed at the Timberwind Cabin , and had a wonderful time , we felt at Home , very clean , spacious, cozy and fully equipped , beautiful view to the mountains , and very close form Pegeon Forge and Gatlinburg, the 2 Ladies at the front office were very Friendly ,Kind and profesional . we will definitely comeback to stay at this resort ,thanks so Much.

This cabin allowed dogs, but they are very strict on allowing your dogs on the bed and furniture. As soon as we walked in, we noticed that the cabin smelled like smoke even though it was a non-smoking cabin and the floors, rugs, kitchen & microwave were filthy and dusty. They didn't supply any extra towels, linens or cleaning products. They had a washer and dryer that works well which we found by accident. The cabin was very beautiful, spacious and very quiet. If you stay here I would defiantly make sure it's clean before you go. The area is very commercialized with lots of traffic which you cannot avoid going to and from the cabin. Please be aware of the tap water in the cabin. We drank bottled water, but gave our dogs the tap water and made coffee with the tap water not knowing that it smelled foul and tasted funny. One of my dogs actually got a rash on his lips from drinking the water. Please make sure to bring bottled water for all of your guest.

We stayed in the Windsong cabin, which is a little more secluded than the other cabins but you can still hear your neighbors talking from the porches. Lots of stairs up to the cabin so carrying a lot of luggage and bags is painful. Cabin was neat and appeared to be clean but there was quite a bit of dust on the ceiling fans. Bedroom is upstairs inside the cabin just in case it isn't clear in the pics. The water had a sulfur odor to it every time we used any faucets. We were told this was due to the cabin being on well water but there shouldn't be sulfur in the well. Fireplace is gas powered and on a one-hour timer so you have to constantly reset it and it doesn't give off much heat anyway. We set the thermostat to 72 at night and woke up freezing cold to the temperature of the cabin being 62 so there's obviously some issue with the heating/air system. On our first day, we found a couple of live cockroaches in the kitchen, which is disturbing of course. Also seems like the foundation of the cabin has shifted to the left as balls on the pool table take a slant to the left and the water level in the hot tub on the porch is higher on the left side as well. We didn't quite have enough towels and washcloths for our stay and after calling the front desk to ask for more, we were told they didn't have enough and we needed to wash them. You only get two full size trash bags so you may have want to bring some of your own. No chalk available for pool sticks, which isn't a deal breaker but still sucks. Overall, it wasn't horrendous but we won't be back.

Check for bed bugs at this cabin rental.

The resort is in the mountains, a few minutes from Dollywood. It's clean and rustic but elegant - think Dolly Parton's style and touch. It's family oriented so it's cozy, not really flashy. I bet during the holidays (now) placed is decked out. Kudos to the staff. From checking in, to dining all the way the family activities (smores), everyone was friendly, helpful and genuinely warm making people feel welcome. Service wasn't feigned or scripted - it was real and even when it was busy, the staff took care of business. Room was comfortable and clean. Not extravagant - think Southern charm. Bathroom wasn't cramped, water pressure good and temperature nice and hot. Quiet (we had a corner room) and we couldn't hear anything. Not even when neighbors opening or closing their door. Even had a workspace if you were working while you were supposed to be on vacation. Amenities included shuttle to and from the park. Pool and Spa (didn't partake). Went to the bar/restaurant - see other review and an on site convenience store. Free parking. I'm sure there are more but that's just all that comes to mind because we were for the park. That's also in another review. Anyway - to sum it up, it's not quite a luxury resort - but a place that offers heartfelt comfort wrapped in Southern Hospitality. If you know Dolly's story, it kinda captures her spirit - warm, sincere and touches of joy. It's a definite "yes" if I needed to pick a place to stay when back in that area, even if I weren't going to the park.

Country Cascades Waterpark Resort is an extremely family-friendly hotel in Pigeon Forge. From the moment we checked in until we left, we were surrounded by friendly people who made sure my family was comfortable and had lots of fun. This hotel has themed suites for families! We stayed in one of their treehouse suites, which has two sets of themed twin bunk beds, as well as a king-sized bed in the main sleeping area. The twin bunk bed area had night lights and a TV in the treehouse nook. My kids were delighted to find a treasure hunt inside our room: a safe full of goodies that they could only unlock once they found all of the clues around the room. We probably could have spent the whole day just having fun inside Country Cascades, even without the waterpark. Inside the resort, there is a bowling alley, arcade, rock climbing wall, gemstone mining, and a gift shop where you can build your own stuffed animal. Kids' activities happen throughout the day, so there's always something to participate in. Plus, the hotel has its own ice cream parlor, pizza restaurant, candy and popcorn shop, coffee shop and breakfast restaurant. Not to mention the waterpark, when you visit during the summer months. Country Cascades is an all-in-one place to stay and play. Country Cascades has its own breakfast restaurant in-house called Granny Cluckets. There's no menu -- instead, the restaurant serves a "family-style" all-you-care-to-eat breakfast skillet, and the table shares all of the food. You're served a big skillet of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, country potatoes, waffles, and biscuits and gravy. Orange juice, water and coffee are also part of the breakfast. One serving is a lot of food for a family of four, but if you're very hungry, you can ask for more and they will give you more. We ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant each morning, and we all agreed that it was a good breakfast. The room was very clean, and although they don't do a full room service, they do take out the trash and replace your towels each day without you having to ask. The one thing that was irksome is that the gym in the hotel is just a treadmill, a stationary bike, and a weight machine. It's very small, and also, they don't allow access to the gym until 7 a.m. That's late for a person like me who needs to rise and grind before her family wakes up! Oh well. I made do, but it would have been nice to at least have an elliptical and 24-hour access.

It has a religious background, and they have bible verses printed on their pamphlets and the check in and check out rules. I love it. I'm glad to see these companies still providing information but not shoving it down people's throats. When we arrived at the Main Office, we provided our information and was asked for the credit card or a credit card for the remainder of the payment due (you pay around 10-20 % online as a deposit before your trip and the remaining upon arrival). The employee that was helping us, swiped the card twice, but when the second transaction with through it still left the pending transaction on the card. Not his fault, but we were out the money on the credit card for the trip since there was "nothing" that could be done. The check in was easy and painless, the check-out was even better. We did have to call regarding the fireplace not working in our cabin, and some sort of animal was in the roof on our departure. The cabin. The cabin was wonderful, quite cozy. The hot tub on the deck was fantastic, as well as all of the appliances .The George Foreman was much better than what we expected. The only downfall to the trip was the water in the jacuzzi tub was sulfur water, and the water for the bathroom sink downstairs was sulfur water. So we didn't use the tub, nor the bathroom sink water. We brushed with bottle water and called it a day. Sulfur water isn't a bad thing, and we are in the mountains so it is expected. So we made do with what we had and still had an amazing time. The drive way is very steep, so if it was snow or ice, there is no way we could have made it up (we were in a 2wd not 4wd). Overall the stay was exactly what we were needing, it was a nice relaxing getaway with privacy. The cabin and people we met on this trip were perfect and helped with any issues we had. We will definitely rent again from Hidden Mountain.

After 20 years, 3-4 times a year (so we've stayed in most of them), each one has always been clean as a whistle. We have figured that we have stayed with them over 60 trips. At least. We've never stayed with anyone else the past 20 years! Our favorite place is at the top of the mountain at the water tower. However three of the four we always stayed at and liked the best, all but one was burned down in the Gatlinburg Fire of 2016. It burned down to their concrete footprint. They finally got one of them rebuilt and just opened back up so we are leaving Friday to go there. It's at the very top of the mountain and you can see for miles and miles. Yet it is only 5 min from the Parkway, behind Dollywood. You would think a cabin on the to of the mountain with its incredible view would be miles from the Parkway but it's only a short 5-8 minutes. I can never praise their staff enough. They are awesome people to work with. Some of our favorite restaurants we never miss are the Applewood for bfast, Guy Fieri's restaurant and arcade ( this is awesome and relatively new and great to go because there is a Crumbl and Ice Cream shop next door that are for that sweet tooth we always seem to get worse up there), Chop House, Cherokee Grill (Gburg), Ogles Farmers Kitchen ( I think this is the name. It right close to going in for Applewood. We've just recently found this and have been multiple times), The Pottery Barn Cafe is usually our first place we hit coming into town. There is also Paula Deens, Chop House, and Johnny Carino's. This is just for starters. Stay here and you won't regret it!!!

After having to leave another cabin we had booked through Timber Tops/Amazing Views cabins ( do not…read moremake the mistake I and many others have made feel free to look up my review )...I was scrambling to find somewhere to stay that wasn't going to cost twice what I was already out. I was getting overwhelmed and upset, this was supposed to be a fun, short stay that was getting over shadowed by an unscrupulous company and a misrepresented and poorly maintained property. Then Ginger answered the phone at Oak Haven like she was manning the phone for the Lord's personal office. She found an available unit with the bedding we needed that she could offer the best rate on for same day check-in. And did it all with the sweetest, kindest and most helpful demeanor. And seemed genuinely interested in helping us get out of the dilemma we were in at the current cabin we'd rented elsewhere. She was a Godsend in a wretched moment where I was ready to pack up and head home! She assured us their office was open for check in til 10pm so there was no reason to change our days plans and race over. We loaded up and went about our day trying to forget what had come before. When we arrived we were met by Josie I believe her name was? I was a lot calmer and not as desperate by this time so she wasn't blazed in my mind quite the same way Ms Ginger was, but this young lady was equally delightful! And.. as a 50 yr old female I feel ok saying it was very refreshing how she was dressed and presented herself! She boosted my hope in younger people! Anyhow, obviously their customer service was a delight..you arrive and the office is at the foothill of the entrance to the resort.. a quick stop for check in, meet their delightful staff- heck grab a fresh coffee, its there! They have a map of the resort, they'll highlight the best path to get to your cabin! The gated resort has a pool, an arcade I believe and a playground maybe other things but we were already pretty planned out. Arriving at the cabin...1st thing we saw was a hard lined propane gas grill, no worries about providing your own tank or running out half way through dinner... and there was a charger by the porch for an electric vehicle. The cabin itself, #54 was a 2br..the entire upstairs was a bedroom w 2 queen beds and an full bathroom. Down stairs was an open concept w a living room, a game area with a retro arcade console, pool table, foosball, board games, extra couch seating - kitchen complete w everything needed large seating area, washer/dryer and a large master w a king, a soaker tub and an en suite bathroom with walk in shower. The screened in porch had lots of seating options, a full patio table rocking chairs, 2 porch swings, lights, ceiling fans, a large hot tub w steps and a handle, and towels hanging by the hot tub!! The beds were all comfortable, everything worked as expected, there was an abundance of towels and kitchen linens, they had after hours emergency #s posted for maintenence emergencies. The resort itself is lovely and is built around a mountain side... the drive through it isn't treacherous, but is steep in areas and might need to be a consideration if you're coming in a winter month, there also wasn't any splendid views to be had other than the beauty of the surrounding area, which has been well preserved and cabins positioned in a way to still seem remote and private. I can honestly say for future visits to the area, Oak Haven will always be where I check out 1st. I truly appreciated all they did to salvage our stay! Thanks so much!

The cabin had pool table, full size pac-man machine, and hot tub. The check in and check out process was simple and flawless. Easy access to the main drag and everything from Sevierville to Gatlinburg. The rental prices were reasonable too.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for four days during the week after Christmas. Found this place…read morebecause I wanted a bed n breakfast & this was the closest I found. It's unfortunate what happened with the fires back in 2016 but the business keeps on pushing through. They still have a decent amount of amenities even without the other spaces they had offered before the fires. The rooms are a decent size, especially for two people. They offer a full sized kitchen which was nice so we didn't have to eat out every night. The balcony is cute & have great views of mt leconte. The bed was comfy & everything was clean. They had plush robes in the closet which were super comfy & great to put on after a hot bath in the spa tub in the bathroom. They also maintain hiking trails right by the lodge & they had a nice set up by the creek, there was a bathroom down there & a fire pit and lots of chairs set up. The lodge is only a mile up the road from downtown & the national park entrance so it's in close proximity to alot of great things. The only issue we ran into was not enough parking but we made it work. Overall had a great experience here & would definitely stay here again.

I took my mom here for her 75th birthday in May of 2018 and had a delightful time. The location,…read morelooking south towards the Great Smoky Mountains National Park was peaceful, and even though it was a short downhill drive to Gatlinburg, it felt like it was miles away. We were greeted by one of the managers when we arrived who made us feel welcome. While there is not daily housekeeping, we had more than enough towels (and coffee pods!) for our three night stay. There was a fire through this area back in 2016. There is no sign of the fire in the remaining lodge building. Off to the side, up a hill, are the foundations of former their lodge buildings and restaurant. The view to the south includes some burned trees in the distance, but I found that it didn't take away from the ambiance. Due to the fire, the does lodge have a more remote feeling due to the lack of telephone, cable, or internet. We didn't miss any of these, and we had reasonable cell phone reception. I look forward to seeing the lodge thrive again and wish the owners the best in their continued renewal.
