Not only Flowers have been removed any item along side has been removed. They claim it has to do with the grass and irrigation system. (I EXPECT TO SEE GREEN GRASS THIS SUMMER) the last I recall it's dead ever summer due to the poor irrigation system they have. Siskiyou has shown not to have dignity or respect towards our cultural value. His father made it very clear that he didn't want any kind of funeral. He also didn't provide any kind of finances to help with cremation. I made some calls from our home in California, and Jessica saved the day! She was so kind and helpful. She suggested that there is a program where his father's body could be sent up north for medical science. There would be no cost to my son. In fact, they would cremate him and provide death certificates at no cost. It was a little tricky with some red tape, but Jessica handled all the arrangements. I did drive from our California home to meet with her and my son. I can attest that the staff was so kind, and that is exactly what is needed during this difficult time. I just got a call that my son's father's cremains are ready. They will be shipped to the funeral home for my son to pick up. This place has no directory, no map, no row markers, nothing to navigate around the cemetery and so after driving around (terrified to accidentally step on a grave) I decided leave. The grounds are in terrible shape, the grave markers/ headstones are covered by weeds and the grass is so tall it's ridiculous. Still a shell of the beauty it used to be (but the cemetery was forsaken for almost 6 years so common sense would cry out that it will take time to restore).But I have seen many improvements. Unfortunately the most difficult obstacle to overcome will be getting water for the grounds. it is easy to complain and point fingers when we lack a complete understanding of a situation. Most people are uneducated in regards to the funeral/cemetery business, and sorry to say: it is indeed a business, tragically. I've seen first hand that the new owners are trying desperately to right a very long long list of wrongs. But the sins of one shouldn't fall on a complete stranger who is actively trying to make things right. there are businesses in the community that have helped tremendously and have been very generous in restoring Eternal Hills. Back to the water though, this region has experienced a drought for years and it has affected many people. Unfortunately there are also businesses (well drilling- the name of said well drilling and I repeat in no way shape or form rhyme with the phrase "dancer thrilling & chump") in this town who like to save face and have empty conversations filled with empty words in regards to the water for the cemetery and hide behind there fancy sophisticated jargon of charging close to half a million dollars ( which unsaid company would obviously deny, price gouging) to fill there pockets but in the same breath masterfully exhibit those beautiful crocodile tears pretty pathetic that our community can get a more fair/righteous deal from Medford than certain local businesses masquerading around with there insincere hysteria.
