Makes me wish I lived in the area. This is a great hidden gem of the area, run by local asian people. It has a variety of options including set menus and combos! The great thing about this place is the options for both authentic cuisine and the more western styled items for your non asian friends like chicken balls, general tsos chicken! Food is good and prices reasonable. I was a bit overwhelmed by the choices from different Asian cultures so not sure what their focus is. It seems to be a "jack of all trades / master of none" as I did not find the pad Thai very flavorful. I would still not hesitate to try other dishes. I haven't been in a while but there was a very noisy fridge in the dining area so this place loses a point for atmosphere. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by Liu's Cuisine. The menu is huge and they don't seem to focus on one thing, so we were a bit unsure when we ordered delivery. It was quite decent food but nothing stood out as spectacular. Delivery also took about an hour and fifteen minutes, which was at least half an hour longer than they suggested on the phone. Credit where it's due: we did receive a free order of fried rice, which I'm guessing was to make up for the delay. We tried beef pho, red chicken curry, and pad thai. Each dish wasn't bad, but again, none of the particularly stood out as fantastic eats. I truly believe that if they cut back their menu and really perfected a couple styles of cooking, they would have wonderful success and fantastic food. I do intend to try this place again! read more

Ordered the Thai food - I feel so bad for saying this but it was truly one of the worst meals I've ever eaten. If I could give zero, I would. Others have had good experiences, this was just something else. Spring rolls that were still frozen in the inside, chicken pad Thai that is slimy and cold. Rice that is burnt and stale. Never again. I tried the Chicken Pad Thai and the Chicken Fried Rice here. They were not bad, but I didn't like the quality. I have had much better pad thai and fried rice at other restaurants, and the taste here would be below average for me (thus the 2 star rating). The staff was friendly and very polite, and we didn't have any issues on that front. The price was reasonable and they even have a menu posted on their windows so you can decide what you want to eat before entering the restaurant. Either way, I wouldn't go back here since I didn't really like the food, but again, the service was excellent. read more

Ordered takeout Chinese family dinner for three. Great price, but you get what you pay for. Bland and greasy, nothing special.

I just ordered this tonight and I felt compelled to write a review. I ordered red Thai curry, and crispy Thai noodles. They came in the standard white styrofoam packaging that I have come to expect from take out places, but when I actually peeled back the lid I was mortified. What was supposed to be a "red Thai curry" actually ended up being a bland flavour less mess in a curry type of soup stock. The chicken looked and tasted as if it was microwaved. The "crispy" noodles were no better, they were bland and covered in a sauce that tasted like a mix of that bright red sweet and sour sauce, and soy sauce. The only thing that was as advertised with this meal was the white rice.... I would not recommend this place to anyone EVER. We ordered a number of items a-la-carte for delivery last night. First time ordering from Liu's. Unfortunately, it will be the last. We ordered Hunan style chicken, Beef and Brocolli, Sechuan Noodles with Beef, and a couple of fried rices. Inexplicably, all three dishes looked and tasted EXACTLY the same. I'm not kidding. Same color, sauce, taste. It's like the chef just put different vegetables in three different pans and just poured on the same thin, pale, oily sauce. I could have overlooked it if the taste had at least been amazing, but it was really bland and had very little character. The beef was also the low quality rubbery stuff that I would normally expect from the the usual Americanized fluorescent-red sweet and sour chicken ball takeout places. TIP: For a $13/dish, use a proper piece cut of meat since there's only about 80 grams of it in each dish anyway. The vegetables were quite decent. A little rushed as they were all still really crunchy, but at least they gave the dishes some substance. The fried rice was middle of the road. I appreciated the bits/strips of BBQ pork, and the consistency was nice. Pros: Quick delivery, decent BBQ Pork fried rice. Fresh vegetables. Friendly delivery guy. Cons: Massively outweighing the pros: Bland food and dishes that are all the same. In any case, we gave them their shot to have our business. Have gone in several times throughout the years, and contrary to several places that have opened nearby, their quality and taste has shown consistent improvement over time, which takes a lot of effort and passion. As far as comforting Chinese food goes, all the usual favourites are crispy, flavorful and delicious. read more
