I was so excited to try this place and had hoped this would be my new go to spot since it's so close to my house but I was very underwhelmed. I ordered the Mongolian beef, honey chicken, egg rolls and fried rice. The beef was mushy and tasted so strongly of black pepper; nothing like I was expecting and hoping for. The chicken had good flavor, but there was just so much sauce, it was a soggy sponge by the time we tried it. Ordered hot and spicy chicken online the description says fried chicken with a spicy sauce. What I received appeared to be grilled chicken stir fry with a ton of onions and jalapeños. We called to question the order and description listed on the website for it and the manager was extremely rude and offered no help to fix the order or exchange for something else. Hopefully they fix the description on the website because we would not have ordered it if that was what was described. "Sides" section of the togo container had the entree part, which means a lot less entree food-6 shrimp total. The shrimp tasted good and the vegetables were great. This is a family ran business that I have tried to support for many years. The food is good. My problem is that when a mistake is made with the order and the customer is inconvenienced, they do not do anything to correct it and make it a better experience for the customer. For example, once I ordered wontons and drove all the way home before I realized I did not have any. When I called, they were willing to make me some but were determined I would still pay the $2 for them. No one cared about my time or gas when they messed up the order. They wanted the $2! Forward to recently, I gave the lady a written order in which I have the pic. She chose to write it on her pad. I go back later at my very short lunch break to pick up food for my coworkers and me and she forgot a lady's order of egg rolls. She kindly argued that it wasn't her mistake and then tells me I can wait for her to make more and would have to pay the difference. I was not waiting. I didn't have time. I complained later to them in writing in which I didn't receive a response. I also told the lady when I was there that my take out box had a hole in it a few weeks ago when I picked up. It was not a hole made after pick up bc the missing piece was not in the box and looked more like a manufacturing defect. There's no way it wasn't seen on the lid when plating. I think it was another moment when they tried to save a few cents at the expense of the customer. I'm very disappointed. If they would take care of their customers and chalk up the loss of a $1 here and there when they inconvenience customers, etc. then maybe it will save them some bigger losses later. read more

First of all, the service here is AWESOME! The lady who I'm assuming owns this place is always working the front and she is so welcoming and sweet. The food always comes out quick and you can tell that they are a clean restaurant. Not to mention, everything they cook is delicious and hot when it comes out! Definitely a hole in the wall that you don't want to miss out on. My favorites are the hot and sour soup and the orange or sesame chicken. This is the best place for Chinese food on the Northshore. I drive over 20 minutes out of my way for it because I can't even eat at other places anymore. The black pepper chicken is my go-to. They saute it in black pepper sauce instead of frying it, and that's changed my world. My boyfriend always goes for the scrumptious coconut shrimp, which I can't help but snag a few from him. I was looking forward to trying this Chinese restaurant because my family is going to be buying a home nearby. I picked up my lunch order and brought it home. Took a few bites of the house lo mien and wasn't that impressed. I ate the other items I bought which were very good and I put the remainder of the lo mien in the fridge. The next day I decided to give it another try. Within 30 minutes of eating I got light headed and was so dizzy I was scared. About twenty minutes later I was throwing up in the bathroom trash as I sat on the toilet!!! I could hardly walk to the chair. I continued to vomit for the next two hours!! I was having hot flashes and chills at the same time!! I have never ever experienced anything like this!! It's now 8 hours later and I'm still having stomach cramps and acid reflux. Unfortunately, I will never again return. This was absolutely the worst chinese food I have ever had. It was like a movie in which you question if the chicken is actually chicken. It looked like the white fat that you would normally pull off of a real piece of chicken. The vegetables were disgusting and the soup was crap. Spent $31 and threw it all in the trash after about 3 minutes. I will never go back and I will tell everyone how bad it is. Also, it seemed strange to me at the time but there was a child working behind the counter (handling money) who couldn't have been more than 10 years old. I went in and she didn't let me choose which 3 I wanted! She asked, I pointed and told her, and she said "no, you get this" and shoveled it in. It wasn't very tasty and was extremely oily!!! The only thing left on the buffet was three spicey dishes and some sesame chicken. The young woman serving said she was glad she had made a lot of it around 9am in the morning. The family that owns it is very friendly as well as very social. 10/10 the child that helped run the small establishment seemed to genuinely enjoy being there and we laughed and talked until we left. Best Chinese food found so far in the Covington/Mandeville area. It has been hard to find authentic, flavorful and spicy Chinese dishes here, but Liu's Wok was great! Ordered the Kung Pao Chicken, Orange Beef and Beef with Snow Peas - sauces on all three were delicious and not greasy, the spicy dishes had a decent amount of heat and the veggies were perfect. And it was very reasonably priced too. We will definitely be going back. read more
