It wasn't what we were expecting, with very little ziplining (1 'big' zipline lasting about 20s, a smaller 5s one, and finally propelling down at the end of the tree trek). We were a group of four adults, with a man and his daughter joining us with our guide. The whole thing seems to be geared more to the 8-14 age group, as the kids/young teens were light and short enough to walk the tightropes etc as intended. For the rest of us, especially the three men in our group, the height of the wires and the way things were balanced made it very difficult for anyone over the height of 5'5 to comfortably navigate themselves through the trees. My boyfriend is 6'2, as was the father who joined us, and they had a lot of trouble with the wires hitting their heads and shoulders at the wrong angles. The one younger person in our group had a much easier time as the ropes and wires were never interfering with her trek. About halfway through our trek, a manager in a black ball camp came to the base of the zipline/tree trek areas and began to shout at the guides. It seemed everyone was doing something wrong in his opinion, even the guests were shouted at (one fellow for not doing a particular tightrope the "challenging" way, another for starting slowly on one of the tougher lines). He made everyone very nervous, and I don't think he realized how unprofessional his behaviour was. Nobody wants to see the guide in charge of ensuring your safety be continually (and loudly!) berated. All in all, I'd say this would be fine for kids or young teens, but as far as the website's claim about being good for groups or corporate training, I'd look somewhere else. Our group would like to go again, but we're going to see if we can find a place geared more specifically toward adults.

I had a great time here!…read more Eaglecrest accommodated the extra-large group of 14 climbers we had, even though the maximum group was somewhere closer to 10. I was under the impression it was going to be 3 hours of zip-lining, but it wasn't, it was mostly a high-ropes course. It was a bit disappointing at the time, but was still fun though! The high ropes course had three levels of difficulty, and you got back on the ground between each difficulty, giving anybody who wanted it, the chance to stay on the ground. The staff there were pretty knowledgeable and helpful throughout. One young man in particular, Tyler, was very helpful and encouraging to the slower, more afraid members of our group. He knew exactly who to joke with and who needed words of encouragement and was very charismatic in general. We all completed the entire course, and it was a very rewarding experience. A bit of a team-building exercise, as you could yell back and forth to the trees in front or behind you to encourage people in your group. It was some physical activity, but not too strenuous. I did have some difficulty doing the games 'properly' as I am a little shorter than most, and was pretty close to the minimum height. Some of the games I couldn't reach the top ropes on, and some I couldn't reach the second foot rope on, so I had to do it all 'cheating' with both feet on one rope. I still had lots of fun though. We were also allowed to bring cameras with us which was really cool. Tyler warned me about having my camera on and dangling at my hip, because the lens would scrape and get damaged but I chose to ignore his advice. My camera was fine in the end, and I got lots of great shots of everybody [and more importantly didn't hold up the group]. I would recommend having someone on the ground to take pictures as well. All in all, a fun experience, a great way to get up and get moving a little bit, as well as enjoy the fresh air outside. Would definitely return [but not too soon as the courses would be exactly the same. Would go back next year though!]

One day, a cheese omelette and sausages then french toast; asparagus scramble and blueberry pancakes the next. They are surrounded by several km of trails that they built and named after their dogs, and provided us with snowshoes to trek around in the cold Highland winter. While we didn't have time to make use of the hot tub in the solarium upstairs, we could definitely see the appeal. There is a lot of neat history behind the place, and Don was happy to share their stories about the building and their vintage/antique furniture. I booked us the dinner package from their website, and after a long day of winter hiking and sledding, we were treated to a warm and lovely dinner by the fireplace. Jessie served us Cornish hen with maple glazed carrots, roast vegetables and peas, with a side of creamed cauliflower, served family style. Highly recommended visit if you are planning to visit the nearby campgrounds or trails, or just want a nice secluded getaway. I would like to come back in the spring or fall for some foraging and hiking.

One thing many mentioned was the food was really horrible but I filled her canteen with extra $$ so she could get extra snacks! Definitely be returning next year - she met So many great friends and is looking forward to it again! Shows are free of charge, but afterwards they'll solicit donations: all donations go to Camp Oochigeas, a summer camp on Lake Muskoka for children living with cancer. Loosely arranged around a flimsy storyline, the show is good old-fashioned, super-cheesy fun. You can either take your boat up to the show and anchor it far enough out to stay out of the way of the performers, or you can spread a blanket on the hillside at Windsor Park. We prefer watching from the boat as you don't have to contend with the massive crowds in the park, and you can drink your Alexander Keith's much more freely... Tho the storyline changes each summer -- storybook characters one year, Harry Potter another, the Olympics in '08, 007 this year -- you can always count on the following: *People will ski barefoot; *Girls will ski holding the tow rope handle with one foot; *There will be a pyramid; *Someone will ski on snow skis; *Someone will ski on a canoe paddle; *Folks will go off the ski ramp; *Someone will wakeboard; *Someone will hydrofoil (my personal fave); *The emcee will be over-the-top with Velveeta commentary. At the time we visited, the visitor's center was closed, but next year I really want to visit when it's open. There's an observation deck there to watch the boats being hauled up and down. There's also some nice parkette areas to have a picnic at, and some walkways to view the Big Chute and the lakes. A must see if you're anywhere nearby!

AO was well stocked even in the mid season and we had plenty of great options to choose from and lovely staff to help with our sélection. It was a bonus that all kids jacket and pants were on sale for 30% off. Woot! While we were browsing for the pants, we decided to get the binding adjusted on her skis and the gentleman (Bob) was so helpful with tweaking my daughter's gears to make her first day back on the slopes as easy and enjoyable as possible. It's shops like this that I miss in Toronto, with that extra attention to customers experience and willingness to go that extra mile to make it great. Thank you, Bob and staff for helping us be ready for our first day back on the slopes. We will be back to visit the shop next time we are in the area and need to pick up some great stuff!
