Court #1. All their courts & nets are we'll maintained.
    Hugo R.

I've been coming to this park to use their courts for over 3 years now and I love it because they have perfect lighting for night matches. It's really not that hard to reach them. They have a sign on the window that says they're out of the office :15 - :45 of every hours to walk the facility. Just call between 15 minutes before or after the hour and they'll answer. The facility is always clean and 90% of the time there's parking. They did remove the numbers to keep score last year, so I was forced to buy my own. It's $8-$10 depending on the time, but we'll worth the price for a clean, we'll lit & maintained facility.

I hadn't realized this park is so large, until today. I have only been there for the yearly street fair, at which time it's hard to see much of anything except crowds of people. But today I walked around and took 24 photos of the facilities. There is at least one baseball field, Dorsey Field. And basketball courts, and tennis courts. There's a small dog park. Dogs are not allowed in the park except for that area. There are two well-equipped kids' playgrounds. There is a large field house that I thought was a library before today. And there is a child drop-off program. And ceramic classes in a separate ceramic studio building. There is a smallish picnic area with cooking facilities. You can access the park from the main entrances on the east side, where the free street parking is located. Or there is stair access from the residential streets on the hill, along the west side of the park. It's a popular neighborhood park, just blocks from Manhattan Beach Pier. Details about the various park rules & facilities can be found in my photos.

This is a great little park with so much to offer. Hoops, tennis, softball, lots of kids stuff (from LL baseball to playgrounds) and a dog run. But what makes this park unique (and 5 stars!) is that it has a ceramics studio! This is a hidden gem in Manhattan Beach. I've been a student there for 6 years and it's always amazed me that people don't know about it. It's a complete studio - - 8-9 wheels for throwing with over 10 types of clay that can be used (and bought there) - 4 very large tables for hand-building and slab-making pieces (plus a slab roller and extruder) - 3 bisque kilns - 2 large final fire kilns - a raku kiln - a large glazing room, with 20+ glazes - numerous plaster molds - and more There are all kinds of classes to take for all ages. There are evening classes M-Th from 6:30-9:30 which are perfect for after work and plenty of daytime classes. Go to the City of Manhattan Beach web site and there is an Activities registration button and follow that. Open to all, not just MB residents. The instructors are pretty cool and open for students to do/learn anything. One last cool thing - if you are an experienced potter, they have what's called an "Open Lab." For a very low cost you can come in and use the studio facilities (no instruction though) for 4 hours. This includes getting your pieces fired that you created in the studio. They have 6 of these Open Labs scattered throughout the week (including weekend). Some really good artists there.

This park is amazing and the perfect spot to have held Movie in the Park!…read more Located on the Chevron refinery premises, this park is on the corner of El Segundo and Sepulveda Blvd. Much like the refinery, the park portion is pretty sprawling. There is a large grass field area, a softball field, sand volleyball, a basketball court, playground, picnic table area and a partridge in a pear tree! I should note that the park is Employee's only and not generally open to the public. Not that I can confirm, however. I took the fam bam to watch Despicable Me 2 here. The doors opened at 4p and the movie was to begin at dusk. Due to the entrance being off a street, the ESPD were kind enough to cordon off an entire lane of El Segundo Blvd so we could have a safe lane to walk on. Parking for disabled guests were IN the park and the rest of the parking was across the street. There were lots of activities for kids available as well as a beer/wine booth for the grown follks. Food booths were also available and ranged from tacos to pizza to funnel cake. The movie ended up starting around 830p. Luckily, all those activities (and beer) were available to occupy all the families out. We didn't quite make it through the movie, but, good times were had by all! Would love to come back here for another fun filled event!

There's two playgrounds and some little things in between. My toddler loves climbing the stairs to get through the tunnel and slide down the big tube slide! I love that it's fully covered so my younger one isn't afraid of going down it too because he can't slip off! The restrooms are also very clean and plentiful. They sit right next to the exercise machines. They also have a parking lot next to the tennis courts but plenty of parking all around on the streets as well! I've seen the wading pool but never got to check it out when it's open but it's pretty big! Hope we get to check it out next year but it's always so much cooler in the South Bay. They have swings and ones where an adult can sit on the end while the child sits in front of them and my babies love it!! So much easier and more fun than just pushing them behind. And this way you can see their full reactions as they swing! Woowoo!! As you can tell, I'm a big fan of this park! Always a hit with the boys and love that it's so fresh and clean! Oh also plenty of benches around! And the ice cream truck is always there!

Great park. Here's why. Let's jump right into this review…read more Aviation Park is located on the same lot as the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. The park offers a track and field. Soccer goals are locked up and only accessible for teams playing a game. But, you can bring portable goals to use. There is exercise equipment on the back end next to the Restrooms. Park is FREE to use, well-lit at night, plenty of FREE parking, and safe. The park can get busy - usually with sport teams practicing and people walking or running around the track. Even during peak times, there is space for all - this has been my experience. Depending on what you are coming to the park to do, finding space on the field is not impossible. The field may be occupied by sport teams practices or games occurring, however, the ends/cornere of the field are great options to run drills and practice solo or with a small group. I have seen people doing soccer and football drills while a soccer game is going on. Overall, I recommend this park. The location, amenities access (turf field & soccer goals), and unkeep are golden in my opinion. People walking and/or running around the track are courtesy and respectful of space.

I am a runner and 90% of the time I have to keep dodging soccer spectators that are standing in the middle of the track. This weekend was a bit different, both soccer teams decided to place half of their team tent blocking the 1st and 2nd lane. Therefore walkers and runners were limited to just two lanes. This was very uncomfortable for many runners. The posted signs and staff needs improvement and maybe people will start to respect the track a bit more.
