Been coming here for years and without a doubt I appreciate the service and quality of work/ care I get from their staff. I am not a fan, the employees of course are lovely, but the doctor/dentist (Dr. Gibson). I can't even think of his name right now, but he is very wishy-washy and he is awkward. The communication has been very unfortunate between what my needs are and referring me to a periodontist. In addition, I wanted to get my teeth cleaned every four months and they literally told me. No, they said they could schedule two times a year, who does that? Then I did have a checkup and a schedule for a teeth cleaning and I specifically said that I have some pain and a worrisome spot so I've been waiting a week for this appointment in pain, a couple of hours before my appointment they just canceled, they don't call me. They text me and say we're just going to refer you to someone else, what? That is irresponsible, negligent impossibly hurtful to me as I have patiently been waiting for this appointment. I am not happy at all. I have been going here for years, but because this dentist works with my periodontist. I figured I would stick it out, but I've had enough. It is not worth it. I need genuine, trustworthy, communication, not wishy-washy and unclear communication. Very unfortunate. I know it is hard to judge ourselves because everybody else sees something else but I am truly patient and I do my best to communicate on a thorough level but maybe I was too gentle with what I needed. read more

I do not recommend this dentist. Staff is unprofessional, they want you in and out. I'm extremely frustrated with my experience and traumatized. I went in for my routine cleaning. I have a filling in my front tooth that I've had for a decade. When cleaning my teeth usually they are very careful around that area. This time she scraped all the filling practically off my tooth. Once the cleaning was done, my front tooth felt exposed but I figured it was because of the deep cleaning. 2 months go by and slowly but surely the filling was peeling off, but luckily did not fully fall off. I went back in explaining my concern and they told me that I needed a crown and they were not going to do a "cosmetic" filling moving forward. I told them I do not want a crown on a healthy tooth that has a chip. Dr. Gibson came in giving me the run down of my teeth. Clearly avoiding the fact that it's their fault my filling came off. He then proceeded to shave off the area in a very forceful way even the drill did not seem steady and practically hit another part of my teeth. He did not do the filling like previously. His assistant with the worst attitude did a cheap filling. Not sure what kind of bonding this is but it's not the normal quality filling you get on a tooth. Basically put a bandage and said good luck hope it last you a few months. This place does not care about your well being. I am left with this wonky bond that doesn't feel like a normal filling. Charged my insurance but gave me a whopping $165 back to "fix" the issue. Sadly they are doing this to others as well. Do yourself a favor and avoid coming here! read more

I would highly recommend some of the reasons are: *Integrity *Quality of care *Honest Without naming the other dentist that I was seeing and went to about a situation these other dentist recommend work that I didn't need getting an implant in one case and the other a total mouth restoration as it turns out I just need some orthodontics and my broken tooth can be fixed with the root canal and a crown versus an implant which if I didn't get the orthodontic work done first I would just end up breaking again. It's hard to find an honest, caring dentist that's part of dental plans I will recommend that everyone come see come to Livermore dental The hygienist are great too plus the office staff and they're not trying to push and sell you what you don't want. read more

Let me just start by saying, "Wow!"Dr Gibson and his staff are wonderful! My 90 year old mother moved to the area a few years ago but had not established herself with any Dental office. I drove up from Nevada, where I live and when I got to town my mother informed me she was having tooth pain, but it was late, Thursday afternoon. I called the office and amazingly, they got her right in, the same day. They determined that her wisdom tooth was infected and cracked. They referred her to a specialist for an extraction, gave her a prescription for antibiotics and gave her a gel to apply topically to the infected tooth. They could not have been more helpful and delightful! To top it off, we were scrambling through her insurance cards and I am not even sure if we gave them one that specifies that she has dental insurance. Let me just say, She and I both were so happy that we met Dr Gibson and his staff and she will now happily be using him as her dentist. read more

Livermore Dental failed to inform me of the cost of care after I asked them every single time I went in how much I would be expected to pay, and now they claim I owe them a bunch of money even though I already paid them $1000 out of pocket. I've been coming here for since I was a kid on my parents insurance, and assumed that they would be a good option once I was on my own. I had anthem Blue Cross insurance, and they claimed that my insurance would be accepted, but I still asked EVERY TIME how much I would pay out of pocket, and each time it was "don't worry about it!" or some similar dismissive answer. I came in 4-5 times over the course of a year and a half for regular cleaning and then a couple deep cleanings and then finally they called me and said "we can't do any more work until you pay down this $2000 bill on your account" I paid them around $1000 out of pocket, and they still wanted more. I called my insurance and they basically said they never worked with Livermore Dental at all. Failing to inform a healthy, ambulatory patient of the cost of care is unethical, and horrible business practice. I wish I could do more to expose this terrible business, so I'll be lodging a complaint to the board of ethics. read more

This is long overdue. My sister did all my dentistry for years until she moved out of state and suddenly last year at 55 years old had to find a local dentist in Livermore. At the time I needed implants, 2 of them, and I was lucky enough to find Dr. Gibson and his office. Dr. Gibson has to be one of the nicest men I have ever met professionally or personally. He kindness and care to his patients is something you will not find in other dental practices (even my sisters...LOL!). He is the BEST! He helped me with the pricing in terms of a payment plan and worked with me around some financial struggles I was facing to have it just work and get my 2 front teeth completed. This weekend I broke a tooth, out of the blue, was eating a Tootsie Roll (I admit..) and the sucker just took a chuck of my back molar with it. I called Monday and initially the office said they couldn't help me in the time frame I was looking for. Because I couldn't miss work I was looking around for another office to help me as the tooth was pounding. Then a lady called from Dr Gibson's office and said that Dr Gibson would see me at the time I needed, he would stay a little later. I wasn't surprised to hear of Dr. Gibson's sacrifice, and man oh man, I was so relieved to know he would be looking at me. They got me in the next day and he literally saved my tooth from utter disrepair. He said if I had waited any longer I would have lost the tooth. He gave me a temporary crown on the spot and ordered me the permanent crown same day so I will have it a couple of weeks. I can't thank Dr. Gibson enough and his staff is very friendly. I had a terrible experience with my first dentist in Livermore and it made me extremely nervous to trust a new one. I first came here 3 years ago and the service was exceptional from start to finish. My most recent visit here was the same, absolutely perfect. The front staff were very helpful finding a time to fit me in last minute, even with the back and forth it took us to find a time to work with my busy work schedule. My cleaning was done by Karen today. She was very understanding with my concerns and very gentle with my cleaning. I noted I was moving out of state in 1 month and was worried I wouldn't be able to get back in prior to my move to get my cavity filled. The staff and Dr. Gibson made time today for not only a cleaning but also to fill my cavity and cracked tooth. The 2 technicians that worked with me today were Theresa and Cherise. Both were wonderful and understanding of my fear of needles. They eased my worries before and during my procedure today and made my experience amazing. I have changed or have had treatment done by at least 7 general dentists or specialists, only Livermore Dental Care is the one that I will keep going to. Dr. Gibson and his team are super nice with patience to answer all your questions, trying everything to make you feel comfortable. Cleaning is done by their hygienists and all of them are very gentle, and Dr. Gibson will come at the end to check the X-ray, and make sure the cleaning is done well, and always ask if I have any concerns or questions. Last but not the least, their admin staff are super nice too. My son also got his dental care there in the past 3 years and feel comfortable. I highly recommended especially for those who had bad experience with dentists in the past. read more

I had a sort of dental emergency and called early this morning, I was able to be seen this afternoon, the receptionist on the phone was so pleasant and helpful. I am so sad that my dentist Dr Lim has been laid off because of Covid 19. The only dentist left, the owner of the business didn't even notice the hygienist didn't do a good job to clean my teeth. When I returned home I checked my teeth with the angle mirror there was still a lot of stain on my teeth. The owner dentist just briefly said that I had a lot of cavities to fill without much explanation and left the room. Just four mouths ago I saw Dr Lim and she didn't say anything of me having cavities. I don't trust him so I went to the other dentist to check it. I have a terrible toothache and called Livermore Dental Care Thursday morning to see if I could in to see a dentist that day or Friday. I was told they had no appointments that day and were closed on Friday. I was also told someone would call me to discuss my situation. I got a voicemail at 5:30 that evening saying that they would refer me to a specialist. The caller did not give me a referral but said to call Monday to get it. It's Saturday and I am in terrible pain. I found a dentist to see me that I have to pay out of pocket because they can't verify my insurance on the weekend. I am so angry with Livermore Dental Care.
