Very clean, with fantastic and friendly customer service. I joined because of the pool and have been happy so far with the water aerobics in the morning. Husband has taken to the outside walking path. The locker rooms are clean, as well as the gym floor and the equipment. I haven't tried any of the other services, but I did try their protein shakes. The 2 different ones I tried were good, and if it keeps me from hurrying home and feeling the need to eat everything in it is a win. There is an 18-month contract, they are a little more expensive than other gyms, but the other gyms don't have a sauna, hot tub, and pool. read more

Run by high school staff. Parents live in Lufkin and pay for 3 memberships, two of which are not used often. Came in to do a quick workout while in town for business, and to see my parents. I was told to leave or pay a $35 day pass. No reasoning or other options were given and worker was rude. Went to Anytime Fitness for a $12 day pass instead. F.I.F.T.H Quarter Performance also has $20 day passes. Quality gyms in vacation towns don't even charge $35 for a day pass. Thats insane. read more

So far so good! Been a member for a month. Now there is always room for improvement. Wish they had a indoor basketball hoop. The outside one needs a little bit of work (concrete has cracks and dips in it). Staff has been friendly, a cool place to get away and workout for a while, very therapeutic. Pool is nice. Showers could use better curtains and better water pressure would be more sanitary for showers. read more

I had a membership for two years and staff was always rude and the weight room was always a mess. My friend (who is in the Army) had orders for deployment and had to cancel their membership a year earlier and livewell wouldn't honor the deployment orders and made them play over $300 to buy out their contract. Like who does that? All I know is that I will not be coming back. Livewell is only out to get your money and they don't care for their customers at all. The salon is a wreck as well. I bought a month of tans and even if I were the first in line to tan, if you were friends with the person working the front desk, they'd go on first. When I said something to the manager, she kinda just said, "hahaha did they really?" All just smiles. It was so unprofessional. While all this was happening I witnessed a hairdresser (who had completely butchered this poor lady's hair) blame her customer's "awkward shaped head" as the cause of her client's awful haircut. I was completely appalled. I will never go back to livewell's gym or salon even if someone paid me to go. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Great place to work out, swim, play tennis and group exercise. Facilities are clean and well cared for with nice landscaping. Monthly memberships are a good value. Livewell is unique to Lufkin and a huge asset to the area. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I grew up in Lufkin and I would visit Livewell every so often. It used to be a nice gym with state of the art facilities. I came into town and went in to get a workout. I must say, over the years it has completely lost lost it's image and I have absolutely no respect. I went in today and it was horrible! The machines are from the dinosaur ages and the staff was rude. I'm used to going to a gym where everything is organized and up kept. The weights were everywhere and I had to scrounge to get what I wanted. The crazy part is that the cable machine screeched loudly and didn't work, I felt like I was moving a mountain and the staff didn't even acknowledge it. If they're going to charge guests $13 a person, they really need to update their equipment and hire friendly staff. I would NOT recommend this place, go to anytime fitness instead, I know I will. read more

Since the new ownership, Livewell has become more vibrant, cleaner and better managed. I don't have interactions with the class instructors, and they seem somewhat stuck up to me. Therefore, I use the machines, courts and trail - and have been more and more pleased. The other clients are friendly and welcoming, with very few 'lunks'. This makes a comfortable environment where people are allowed to progress at their own rate. I look forward to my visits. read more

This place is what I needed! Not only is the staff helpful and friendly, but I love how clean it is. I go to workout and they have all I need. I also love the pool and sauna/ steam room! They have so much more to offer than other gyms around here! The childcare is also a plus... I would highly recommend this place to everyone! read more

I had a membership for a while and when I switched banks I didn't update my auto draft for the monthly dues. After almost a year of not paying I finally received a bill for 600 dollars or so. I thought, oh well maybe I can settle for partial payment. I called to arrange something and the lady said she would get back to me. I was so pleasantly surprised when a very nice lady called me back and said they were forgiving the entire debt. I could scarcely believe it. Se said she knew I worked offshore and that I hardly ever went to the gym, and not to worry about it. Before she hung up she said that if I ever felt like coming back they could work something out with me being gone half the year. I wasn't thinking about joining another gym, but after talking with the new owner at LiveWell That's the only place I would even consider. It was so nice to be treated like a person and not just another customer. I sincerely wish the new owners great success. read more
