The free weights are really what I utilize most, and I appreciate that there's never really any wait time to use them. Squat racks are sacred, and I've only once seen someone curling in them, so there's that. For the most part, you've got a lot of space and equipment to use, I only wish they had more of an Olympic weights/platform area. The locker rooms are not the nicest, but there is a dry sauna in the men's area. Showers are a little meh, but again, for the price this place has what you need. Staff is really friendly, and it's a locally owned establishment, which I always like to support. The equipment is clean and I've not once seen something out of order.

If you take his class, expect a variety that will challenge you. He will teach you how to defend yourself without the fluff of point sparring of many of the other schools. He also doesn't expect you to teach the classes for him without pay as upper belts although many of the members of the class voluntarily help each other perfect their techniques. I wish that he had been here 10 years ago. I feel that I wasted my time taking sports karate with high kicks that are ineffective and aggravated my hip. I also feel that some of the things that I helped teach in other schools were not as effective if they were effective at all.

So guess who ends up picking up trash all the time? That's right, me! Sadly, I see more and more trash every time I go, and that is a disgrace. A clean park lies on the citizens like us. Of course you have liability waivers to fill out, but that's expected. What was not expected how much friendly and detailed safety, gun handling, stance work, thought, attention to detail, etc., was given to you throughout your stay. If you have your own weapons, they do not try to up sell you on anything. The suggestions they give comes with explanations and are logical. I'll leave it at this, if you want a safe environment to learn about weapons, with a highly competent staff, this is the place to go. I saw archery stuff to go with the plethora of gun stuff that's all around. I like the many hunting trophies that are around the place as well. I can't wait to go back and try the outdoor shooting range, as well as target practice inside.
