This visit was for the keratin lash lift and darkening, and the brow bundle which included lamination, darkening, and waxing. During the lash lift, she put a very hot mask and headband over my eyes and nose. I expressed after a minute that it was very hot on my nose, she suggested pulling my mask down as the metal part on the mask might be making it worse. I pulled it down and she asked if it was better, I said a little bit but it was still hot. She said the mask needs to stay hot and to let her know if it cools down so she can turn the temp up. I now have a blister on my nose and painful redness over my nose and under eyes. During the brow lamination, everything seemed to be going fine. The lamination process burned quite a bit. My brow area was a bit tender after, and she still continued to try and wax it. She waxed the same area over and over, then said "I just gave you a cleanup wax since it can be hard to wax after this much processing, you can come back in a few days for more if you want." Why would she even include waxing in this bundle if she shouldn't be waxing after processing the brows?! I left with my brows looking terrible, there was lots of product still in them. I truly don't know if it was henna or product from the laminating process, but it was very difficult to get out and I lost a lot of brow hair in the process. I would never return to receive any other treatment from her.

Another stylist cut my hair instead, and I was extremely unhappy with the results. I called the salon afterward to express how disappointed I was because my hair wasn't what I had asked for. Because Manny had always done a great job for me in the past, I scheduled another appointment specifically with him, hoping he could fix what had happened. Instead, I left feeling even worse. I only asked for my usual curtain bang trim. Instead, multiple professional hairstylists have since told me that what I received is a straight bang, not a curtain bang. They also pointed out that the bangs are uneven, don't frame my face correctly, are much too thick, and that hair from farther back on my head was pulled forward and cut into the bangs, making them far heavier than they should be. This completely changed the hairstyle I had spent so long growing out. I create content for a living, and my appearance is a major part of my work and how I pay my bills. This haircut has seriously affected my confidence and made it difficult for me to create the content I normally do because I no longer feel like myself. I even went to another local salon for a second opinion, and they confirmed the issues with the haircut and explained that there isn't an easy fix without waiting months for my hair to grow back. To the salon's credit, they did refund me after I reached out, and I appreciate that. However, a refund doesn't give me my hair back or undo the time it will take to grow it out. After everything that happened, I honestly walked away feeling like my concerns weren't taken seriously. I can't say why the haircut turned out the way it did, but after my previous complaint about the first bad haircut, it's hard not to wonder whether that played a role. I truly hope that's not the case, but it's how this experience left me feeling. I never expected to leave a negative review after trusting this salon for over a year.
