My primary care doctor, Dr. Serna, is amazing and always takes great care of me. I had an appointment with her today, but the office called to let me know she wasn't in and asked if I wanted to reschedule or see another doctor. Since I've been in significant ear pain, I chose to see Dr. Ashizawa just to get a referral to an ENT. My appointment was at 3:00, but he didn't come in until 3:50. After briefly looking in my ear and doing a quick ear drum test, he said nothing was wrong and that there was nothing more he could do. I asked if he could please send a referral to an ENT since I'm in a lot of pain and pressure, but he shrugged and said there was no point because they wouldn't do anything different. That's simply not true, he barely investigated the issue. I left after two hours with no diagnosis or help and am now debating whether to go to the ER or pay out of pocket to see a specialist. I'd highly recommend avoiding Dr. Ashizawa, he seemed completely dismissive and uninterested in helping his patients.

The first time I went to this clinic, I was assigned to a PA, Lauren. Then another PA. About a month ago, I scheduled for an appointment hoping to get helped from an injury sustained after a motor vehicular accident. I was having constant nagging/dull pain at times the pain is even unbearable to my left leg + numbness which made it difficult to perform my job duties as a bedside ortho/trauma nurse and my day to day activities. Dr. Pathak put me on LOA because he said "my job duties could be aggravating the pain" he also ordered an MRI. When I went back for my follow up appointment somehow they assigned me to a new Dr. named Dr. Abassi, who was not familiar of my case. She asked me about my chief complaint etc. mind you, this doctor did not even do a head to toe assessment/ laid hands to check my leg or listen to my lung sounds or heart sounds when she first saw me, she just went over my labs and prescribed me more medications that did not address my initial chief of complaint of pain and numbness to left lower extremity. Today, I was scheduled for another follow up with her to review my MRI results. She basically told me that my MRI results are fine (which is absolutely great) but my symptoms are still there. per her statement " I don't know what to tell you but I don't feel comfortable extending your disability/loa" even after the fact that I am telling her that, my leg is still numb and I was never relieved of my pain. She expects me to go back to work without thinking or even assessing me fully If I am capable to perform my duties at work. She DID NOT provide me with any solution. I kept asking her if she is going to release me to work or referring to another specialist to see what's wrong with me. She kept saying "I don't feel comfortable" despite of me telling her my symptoms. since when did a doctor's assessment should be based on their feelings?! Ridiculous! your patients are coming to see you for a reason and not to know or hear what you feel about their situation! Then she went ahead and told me "I don't know how much more I can help you I am an internist" like seriously??! Frustrating. we went back and forth back and forth because "she doesn't feel comfortable" completing my disability paper while her colleague who did a through assessment on me obviously realize there is a problem so he had to put me on LOA. This office also charged me $225.00 to complete the paperwork required by my work to apply for disability and EDD. only to find out they barely submitted the documents almost a month later because Dr. Abassi doesn't feel comfortable completing the documents. This office DOES NOT even deserve a star! I get better service at an urgent care than my primary doctor. If you are looking for a primary doctor keep looking. This office/ clinic is the worse at continuing care. they kept changing providers who does not have idea about your case.
