**October 2025: Sunday Morning Visit** My friend and I were staying in the area and I wanted to check out a local farmers market. LJB Farms came up in my searches and honestly I'm so happy it did as it was exactly what I pictured. The farm had a large pumpkin patch with multiple areas photos spot areas, an outdoor market space as well as a store with fresh produce, and various local items including honey, nuts, braids of garlic, and other artisanal items. I'm not sure if this is a weekend thing, but they had a couple of pop up vendors that sold various hot food like roasted corn. We had already eaten breakfast, but I would have loved to have tried something. I also found the prices of items here much more reasonable than other more touristy farmers markets. The patrons here looked like they were locals, so I felt that his establishment was more authentic to the area. I kind of wished I bought a cooler so that I could buy the frozen raviolis (they sounded delicious), and a carton of eggs, but I guess that'll be something to note on a future visit! GET THE CORN HERE! The corn is 3 for $1 and they are super sweet! There is a limit of 100. I like to keep the husk on, but I saw the veterans taking them off before buying them. A few corns weren't perfect inside so now I get it. Watermelon was $12, but they were huge and good! The biggest watermelon I ate in my whole life and that's coming from a guy that eats a lot of watermelons and pees nonstop. read more

On a regular day, no festivities or special holiday going on. Was on the way up from Carmel and wanted to check out some local non tourist trap farm. This fits the bill. I love the fact that the farm here sells almost ripe or will spoil produce at a bargain instead of throwing them out. Green peppers at $2 a bag, red at $3; I think each bag weighs at least 3 lbs. that's a deal when they're about the same price per pound. White corn were stripped down with some leaves covering it, but the tips were chopped off. 4 for a $1, I really like the idea of salvage and offering a chance for those who like a bargain too! They have other produce neatly displayed behind refrigerated doors or under a cooling system. Peppers, broccoli, cauliflowers, leeks, kale etc. Prices were very reasonable. Strawberries were beautiful, had large boxes of overripe for $4 but not like they were attracting flies or wilted ready for jamming. Still a good eat on the road or dinner dessert if you fancy. A lot of Marianne's ice cream for sale, some jams and nuts and of course garlic. read more

LJB is the way to go if you want local ingredients or specialty foods that you can't get at a regular grocery store. The parking is a little hectic, but you get used to it after a few trips. The ice cream freezers are my favorite spot in the store! read more

You come here for a little bit of everything... There's a pumpkin patch around Halloween and Christmas trees in December. There's a big boutique in the spring (maybe the summer too). Year round, you can get farm fresh produce -- whatever is in season. Some is directly from their fields. There's Gizdich pies (although they sellout fast) and jam. Yum! There's a ton of other speciality items. Try Roxanne's granola. There's also amazing rocky road fudge made from two sisters who live in Gilroy. In you're in the area, it's worth a stop. read more

I usually stop by LJB to get corn and jam while in Gilroy. Their frozen ravioli is delicious. So are the ice cream sandwiches. For the last few years, our PTA has gotten pumpkins for every student from LJB. The pumpkins make the kids so happy. The pumpkins are so awesome. read more

Fresh and diverse produce, friendly family feel, good service, clean area! We went there last week and got strawberries, ginger, and local honey. All were so tasty and have lasted well since bringing them home. LJB also sells ice cream sandwiches (I think they get it from a place in Santa Cruz?); they're sooo good!! I love how quaint this place is. It beats the hustle and bustle of farmers market with just the same type of farm fresh produce. If you miss the farmers market, I've found some of the vender's products here. Other items are locally grown or made. Prices are a little high for my taste. I've been to the pumpkin patch here last year during covid and it was small. However the pumpkin selection was great along with the price. My toddler enjoyed himself and it was just big enough for him. I'm looking forward to this years pumpkin patch and curious how it'll look this time around. Family owned for sure. The Halloween/Fall decorations were cute. Quite a few photo opportunities throughout the farm. A small hay maze. No entry fee and free parking. They had parking attendants guiding people on where to park, nice touch. Left after a while due to the extreme heat weather and no real shade offered. The tables they had out did have umbrellas on them but the shade was small and only for the people who were right under it. Which on a weekend, there was a lot of people. I absolutely loved that they had a dog walking around freely to greet customers. This was probably the best part of my suicide trip up to NorCal. He is so friendly and so cute! There's a lot of these booths/ farms along the highway and we were hunting for our garlic leis. We purchased one for $12 previously but couldn't remember where that location was, but I'm glad we stopped at this location to meet the dog :) We paid $16 for the large. We were also hunting for avocados, which we'd seen from 6-10 for $1 (?) Can't remember, but it's much more expensive here: 2 avocados for $3. read more

They still have mini baby pumpkins & various squashes available here as well as pomegranates. I found some chimichurri sauce in the fridge there. Omg, it's so good! It's fresh, homemade, & preservatie free! It's extremely hard to find fresh anywhere outside of a Brazilian place! If you don't know what that is, it's an amazing sauce made with olive oil, garlic, parsley, & a few other savory herbs. It's not spicy. It's great on meat, veggies, bread, or as a dip! They sell 3 different flavors, garlic lovers, jalapeño, & original. I got the original one. It's $13 a jar, but so worth it! There are also sime old tractors here. The owner & his son are friendly according to my husband. They share his passion for tractors as well. They also sell homemade pies, honey, jam, beef jerky, & hot sauce there as well. read more
