They have the best selection of dried chili peppers and a large variety of nuts and dried fruits available year round. Every fall, they host a great local pumpkin patch for the kids, which features a variety of food trucks. There is plenty of parking, and it's easily accessible right off the 101. We arrived about an hour before closing and there were only a few other people picking cherries. We walked up and were told what to look for and what cherries to avoid. We were handed bags and told how far on the property we could venture. The price was around $6.99 a pound. It's more expensive than the store for bing cherries, but you can't beat the quality, freshness and supporting a family business. We picked cherries for about 20 minutes and of course took the opportunity to take some pictures. We picked about a pound and a half and were on our way. This was a great quick stop and we had a healthy snack on our road trip. I would recommend stopping if you are in the area.

Went cherry picking here in early June…read more Very simple. You "check in", they give you a bag(s) and a grasper for high up ones if you're serious (we weren't that serious). You walk around picking the cherries you want. The trees are marked to indicate the different varietals. You put them in your bag, and you go back to the table to pay for what you picked. Great date idea. There are a couple photo spots designed for Instagram type photos. We didn't use those, just took regular pics. And the whole thing cost like $10 for both of us. That's less than 2 coffees and you get the cherries too. Make sure to check in advance as crops aren't always predictable.

I would recommend shoes you don't mind getting dirty or stained. Parking was small but we still found parking at the entrance maybe cuz we went toward end of the season and later in the afternoon. If going on warm spring weather , bring a hat or umbrella., there were still plenty of shades under cherry trees as walk tree to tree or row to row . We got carried away and end up picking 6 lb +, cost added up fast . 6.50$ per pound for cherry and 3.50$ / lb for apricots . Both cherry and apricots were sweet ! Distanced only 20 mins from San Jose Central area , which is great location if you are in nearby town/city .

A little roadside adventure at Casa de Fruta! On our way…read morehome from the coast, we spotted Casa de Fruta and just had to stop! The roadside appeal was fantastic and definitely caught our attention! We decided to grab some lunch and, of course, couldn't leave without checking out the gift shop for a bottle of wine. We were seated pretty quickly and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time, but unfortunately, the service was a bit underwhelming. Our waitress never really checked back with us, and we eventually had to flag someone down just to get a refill. BUT... the outside of this place is AMAZING! There is so much to see and do! A beautiful pond, water wheel, train, carousel and plenty of fun things to explore. It really makes for a great little stop while traveling. The gift shop was fun to wander through too, with wine, nuts, dried fruits and all kinds of cute little knick-knacks. We'll definitely stop at Casa de Fruta again when we're passing through--but next time, we'll probably skip the restaurant and stick to exploring, shopping and enjoying the scenery! They finally closed down their old restrooms and upgraded to a large style restroom building that can accommodate multiple people at once. In the men's restroom, there are multiple stalls and urinals available now, which is a huge improvement compared to what they used to have with that small, tiny restroom by the parking area. The service was good overall. There are a lot of younger employees working there, and while most of them were very enthusiastic, the some just seemed like they were just there, but I have no real complaints about the experience. I would definitely recommend coming to visit and relax here during your road trip since there is a little something for everyone to enjoy.

It's sweet but still maintains the tartness/acidity of the berries so it helps your ability to eat more of it. My husband finished almost an entire pie in one day. The bad: My aunt said the apple pie is too sweet and therefore prefers the more tart/sour berry pie. I wish I tried the pie with ice cream because that would have been a nice compliment. The interesting: They're family owned and have been around for decades. You can pick fruits here too.
