Got a watermelon... Let's see how it tastes... Update: The watermelon was alright. The texture was a little off but overall pretty good. The pricing was a little more than you'd get at a store but they also had some things you don't often see at the grocery store. You're paying for convenience really. A small unsuspecting shop off the 101 - bing cherries! Bought a netted bag containing 2 pounds of bing cherries for $8. At the time of purchase, I asked if they were organic; the woman at the register said "yes." However, another Yelper called the store & messaged me that they were not. There are a lot of streetside vendors as you're driving up the 101 and when we sayw Ralph's it was a welcome sight. An abundance of fresh cherries and garlic as well as other specialty items. Some of the best things about this place: - Staff was very friendly and helpful - There is a sink on site you can use to rince your produce in case you're going to eat it in the car - Immaculate bathroom. Ralph's Cherry Hut was built by family and continues to be run by the local family owners. The Cherry Hut has been in the cherry business for over 50 years when it was first built by Grandpa Ralph and the Cherry Hut was not its bright red barn like structure but instead a table and boxes of 2lb cherries for sale on the side of a dirt road which is now the 101. This is an overpriced market trying to look like a fruit stand. We stopped hoping for affordable in-season produce from nearby farms but only bought corn and some garlic as all the fruit was overpriced. A jar of garlic stuffed olives is $11, the same size as a $3 jar from my local grocery store. read more

Very nice staff. Clean one stall restroom. Delicious New Cherries and Nectarines. I love that when asked about the freshness of the garlic braids, that I was given an honest answer. Would give it 0 stars if I could. Just stopped by on the way from vacation. Filled the basket, was looking at strawberries, took one to sample. Lady with a sour face told me that there are no samples, that people eat it all the time and it is horrible (I am quoting). There was no sign or any other indication that they don't want you to sample it. Place looks like farmers stand, not a supermarket. Walked out without buying anything. Jams jellies, juices, soda, salsa, pickled things yes, and much more await you at Ralphs. The Cherry Hut has some vegetables, a lot of fruit, and of course, now when it's June, cherries. When I was there they had both Bings and Ranier, and they both tasted great. There is a little cup of them for you to sample and I must admit I ate quite a few period and cherries aren't cheap, but I think they're worth it and a lot of fun and once a year splurge and go for it to support these guys who once a year sell that beautiful crop of cherries. I may be a bit tainted because as a child I lived in Cherry Valley, on a ranch with 20 acres of cherries. But that's a story for another time.
