Our 83 year old home has original Saltillo Tiles which I don't think have ever been restored since…read morethey were installed. Due to the porosity of clay tile, it can very easily be ruined by the wrong type of cleaning and sealant application. It's a job for professionals. And folks who specialize in this type of tile are hard to find. I found Tyler and his company, Seal Systems through Yelp and called them for an estimate. I was pleased to learn this is ALL they do. They specialize in natural clay tile restoration. Tyler's dad even created a proprietary cleaning solution to address the potential issues of stripping off old sealer. On Day 1, they showed up and stripped the tile on their hands and knees. No machines, just two guys working their a$$es off. On Day 2, the sealant went down, four coats in total (I believe) were spread. (I prefer the high-gloss Saltillo). The tile looks gorgeous. The patina is still there but the whole room has a new life. I love the way it turned out - 100% exceeded my expectations (because old tile restoration can be hit or miss.) If you have clay tile that needs some TLC - hire these guys. They are professional, responsible, dependable, and know what the heck they're doing. Also - family owned business...that's a good thing.

Max threatened to vandalize my home - - rip out my tile and remove cabinet hardware - - unless me…read moreand my significant other rushed back to get home within 15 minutes even though we were both working. All that we wanted was to both get to the house at around 5:30pm to inspect the work but apparently that wasn't good enough for Max. We were not trying to renegotiate the contract. We were trying to enforce the contract to make sure everything was done that we agreed to verbally and written before paying. We both had to abandon our jobs and risk getting fired in order to pay max at around 2:30pm instead of 5:30pm. When we got to the house around 1:15pm, the work wasn't even completed. So why did he threaten to do that? We had to wait another two hours for him to finish before inspecting the work. All the while we are not working at our own jobs. Overall the company did an awful job on my opinion especially when you include the service aspect. Communication was awful too, and I believe there is grout haze all over my marble tile that I may have to hire someone to get off. We were told that the work was going to be finished in two and a half days but it took six days to just put in a new kitchen backsplash! Max didn't even show up to supervise the work during the entire time. It seems that he's not committed to performing everything that he promises to do based on verbal and written estimates. He'll make promises to get the job, but when you ask if he's done everything that he promised before paying him, he'll accuse you of "renegotiating the contract" even though you're just trying to verify that everything was done appropriately. We agreed verbally that I would pay $2100 if he would add knobs to the living room built-ins and adjust the kitchen cabinet. The written quote was for $2000. Initially he verbally quoted $1800. I never said or implied that I wasn't going to pay him. My advice is to the owner is to not threaten to damage the home of clients before the work is even complete. Ultimately to keep him from acting on his threat, I just paid him the money to get him out of my house. Any mistakes I'll hire someone else to fix. See attached text message where he messaged us and attached contract.

During construction, I was traveling and Max keep me up to date with the progress of the construction. Since I wasn't home he also made sure everything was securely locked and he cleaned up everything after the construction was done. It was a great experience from start to finish and things were done in a timely manner. Thanks, Max, definitely I'll be contacting you for future projects.

We've used MTR twice and have two more jobs that we plan on completing with them. Our experience…read morewith MTR has been outstanding from start to finish. What we specifically like about working with MTR: - They wait to begin a job until all materials are in-hand. While that means that we might start a project later than hoped, it means that once the project is started, they finish on-time and with minimal disruption. The work is done FAST. - They communicate regularly and thoroughly. Through email, text and phone calls, I can always count on getting quick answers. - They ensure that their work is clean from beginning to end. They taped off walls and doorways to make sure dust doesn't get tracked throughout the house. And when the work was complete, they thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. The pictures speak for themselves. We've had them rebuild our guest bed and bath and replace our flooring. Special shout-out to Daniella & Albert. They make remodeling fun!

If I could give MTR Construction 100 stars I would! This is a family owned and operated business,…read morethat clearly takes pride in the quality of work they provide and in pleasing the client. From the day we met Albert Jr. for the estimate for our In-law suite, MTR has been there every step of the way. They took our vision, tweaked it so it made sense for the space, worked with our budget, and finished in a more than reasonable time - even with unforeseeable circumstances (Covid-19 {us}, material shortages, vacations {us})! Daniella expertly guided us through the process and kept us informed of permits, arrivals, departures, and every other piece of the massive puzzle that is home renovation. We NEVER had to wonder what was happening next. The crews that worked in our home were so quiet, we almost didn't know they were there. When they left each day, the area was spotless. Even the garage where the materials were kept was swept and neat each evening. And by the way, all materials were ordered & at our home BEFORE the work started! As with any renovation with limited space, there were a couple unexpected challenges. Albert Sr. quickly brought his super-expertise to the project and suggested a few options to solve whatever the issue was. The result? We couldn't be more pleased! The suite is more beautiful than we thought possible! My mother-in-law thanks us every day for her new "hotel suite with its very own bathroom"! Albert Sr., Albert Jr., Daniella, Albert Jr (2), Brian, and all of the others at MTR Construction - thank you, thank you, thank you!!! We can't wait to call you for our next project!
