During my visit, I spoke with a salesman about flooring options and next steps if I wanted to go with one of the tile flooring options. I was told I needed to set-up an appointment with Dave, the contractor for a measurements + an estimate. I am really not a fan of businesses that like to farm out their contracting to outside parties because things never seem to go smoothly when the company isn't involved in the entire process. I received a call from Dave, on Monday 7/25 at 4:12 pm. He asked if he could swing by. I explained that the home we recently purchased is an hour away from where we live currently and I wasn't in the area. I was over an hour away at my other home. I asked Dave if we could set up an appointment for Thursday. Dave said we could. I received a call from Dave on Thursday at 11:58 pm. He told me he had just wrapped up a job and he was available for the rest of the day. I asked if 2 pm was good. He told me 2 pm wouldn't work. At this point, I am thinking I have to be on candid camera because he just told me he was available, but when I mentioned a time, the time didn't work. So, I told Dave I would be available the next day, which was Friday between 2:30-4:00 pm. When did Dave call?? 5:45 pm on Friday. Needless to say, I visited Lomax today to obtain a refund for services not rendered. I don't think Lomax is a bad place to buy flooring from. However, I do believe that they are losing customers and business because of their contractors lack of professionalism

Pat knew this, and knew I couldn't source through him, but was extremely helpful and knowledgeable showing me around the store. He helped educate me on the differences between the options I've already selected, helped order me samples to see the difference in shades, and helped explain that Lomax is the price leader and will match competitors up to 150% with free install over a certain sq footage.... I think that was the right number? He even explained that lots of new construction owners will go with standard included options and hire Lomax to rip out and install superior products cheaper than what the builder would have charged. Really impressed with his level of support, and plan to follow up to put flooring in our unfinished spaces.

While I was impressed with the in stock furniture and customer service when I was purchasing , my opinion changed when I had an issue with an expensive piece of outdoor furniture. I had the chair less than 30 days when it fell apart. I contacted them and was told I would receive a call back later that day which I did not get. Finally I received a call asking for pictures and serial number. I was then sent an email if I had any questions to contact them. I asked if they would replace the chair since it was practically new and I heard no response. I told them since this was a vacation home I would like to quickly resolve this as we would be closing up the house shortly. Again no response. I followed up two days later with a phone call first thing in the morning and was told the manager and her boss were there and she would call me right back with an answer which never happened. I called an hour before closing to see what the answer was and I was told by the manager what did I expect! It was her birthday and a holiday weekend plus they were busy all day with customers. I guess once they have your money you are no longer a customer. To make matters worse the manager said in his opinion I should apologize to the sales person because he felt I was being unreasonable. From day one, calling Whitaker and getting the friendliest person, asking what they could do for me. I wanted all my rooms in my house painted. Within a day a representative, I do not remember names, came out, did a walk through with my wife and myself to see what we needed done. Within two days we had a quote, covering all of my request. The price for the project was reasonable, once the work was done, I found the price was well worth what was being charged. A date was set to start work, along with an approximate number of days to do the painting. Both start and end times were met. The painters were extremely friendly and cooperative. The painters kept me up to date on their progress. I removed many of the small items from the area, and there were many. The painters took down picture frames and moved all of the furniture, and place things back exactly how they were before. They used top quality paint. My wife and I had a personal problem, I wasn't sure I would be able to get ready by the date we agreed upon. I was told to not worry they would work with me, find a better date. The project was started three days from the agreed date. How refreshing to find a contractor caring more about the customer and not their bottom line. I could go on, but I will end this by saying, anyone that is looking for a professional painting company, T. Whitaker Painting, Inc. is the company to go with.
