I had given the installers a low rating because they were two days late. Well, they got here today and the floor is already looking great. Very professional, cleaning up after themselves, and nice guys. Nice surprise! The people we dealt with at the store in Redford were extremely helpful as well. I will never purchase or have a floor installed by this company again! If I could have given no stars I would have done so but to be fair the staff at the actual store location are awesome. I purchased this floor last year (2023). The problem came in during the first day of installation. The first issue was that the installers cut up and threw out my carpet. I paid for the carpet to be rolled up and placed to the side. I was going to put the carpet in my basement because it was only two years old. I contacted the company and they only offered me $300 to correct their mistake. The second issue is that the installers did not prepare the subfloor properly in one area of my house so the flooring had too much bounce in it. I should also mention, when I bought the flooring I informed the sales person of the trouble area so he told me what to purchase for the installers to properly install the floor. I bought the materials from LL flooring. Due to them not doing it properly I had to call Jim who I believe is over the installation dept so they had to come out and fix it. So in the process of them leveling the subfloor they left sawdust all over my furniture and newly painted walls. The third, yes third issue is that I'm still having issues in the same area they "fixed" and the floor panels are cracking in several areas. I should mention it's only two of us in my household. So I called a few days before my warranty expired and Jim came out to look at the issues. The last conversation I had with Jim was that he was going to locate a box of the flooring and have installers to come out and fix the issues. This was in June, I haven't heard from him since then. Him and his assistant have stopped responding to my texts. A few weeks ago I contacted LL flooring and they screwed me over again. They offered me a $400 credit for them to fix the floor. Why would I PAY for them to fix the floor they didn't install correctly!! That's Ludacris!! I would never refer anyone to this place!! I will be lucky if this floor last another year! Fantastic experience getting LVP here. Forget the bs you go through at the big box stores and check this place out. First off they are friendly and extremely helpful. Second they are reasonably priced for the product they are selling. I felt like I could call or drive back with any questions or problems and they would and have walked me through the issues. Try that at Home Depot or Lowes. Even the guy putting my order in my car was friendly and gave me pointers on the product I purchased. Thanks you guys for all your help. Next project that involves flooring I will make sure my first stop in at your store I can't comment yet on the long term durability of the LVP I purchased but it looks and seems very durable. It was easy to install and actually seemed appropriate for some commercial applications. Lots of LVP manufacturers and places to buy but I'm glad I went with Corelux at Lumber Liquidators. read more

Since there is only a written review, I apologize to the Redford Mi store as they were very helpful with the selection and the issues raised during the install but one bad apple ruins the bushel so they all get the same review. Our contract allowed a 5 day install, with the statement it probably would not take that long. The person from the install company was prompt and got all the measurements quickly. The order was delivered in plenty of time. When scheduling the install the install company's contact said 2 or 3 days max. But we never got a full day's work from the installer; he came late in the morning, took a lunch break and left by 2 or 3. After the 2nd day he realized that there were boxes that did not match the floor. I told him it was for a wall, which he should have known from the work order. He also did not bother to check the parts so he could get a good understanding of the project and preview for damages. He finished the floor but had trouble with some of the trim; he said he was talking to his boss for a solution which never came. The wall was 2/3 done and it looked like he would be short of material. I asked him if he had enough and he said some material was damaged in shipment but he would contact LL for replacements. He said once we got the parts he would come out and finish. He contacted LL after that but should have done that immediately not a day or so later. As it worked out Fed EX delivered to the wrong address and I wound up picking up the replacements from a store 30 miles away to make sure I got them. I contacted the Installer and he said he was too busy and it would take 2 to 3 weeks for him to get back. I guess a client that had some issues but still signed off on some of the project as a favor for him and is overdue from the contract date is no longer important. He did work the Saturday after the due date to finish what he could. He was playing catch-up for the lack of effort during the week. But he the work performed was of low quality. The trim has gaps at the corners as his measurements or cuts were slightly off. Some of it is coming loose already. After the wait time I contacted LL service and the install company to get a date and got a run around and no answers. I finally contacted the Installer and when he told me he was still too busy I became very emphatic and loud demanding my job get finished. No foul language was used. But I still got no answer other than to demand an apology, which he should have given me for his lousy service and work. I contacted the install company about his attitude but never got a response. So since he was not coming back and he was not worth having I got a private installer to finish the job, at additional expense. The new installer found that the parts for the missing trim were in the delivered items and finished the trim. I also found some other issues including a safety issue that the LL installer had not done properly. Had the installer checked the parts he may have gotten the floor done. The new people did excellent work. I contacted LL to get a refund and the operator said she would get back with me but never did. I did not sign off on the wall but I assumed the installer got paid because I never got a refund for the job that was not completed at all, let alone on time. I cannot yet speak of the quality of the material, it seems good. LL had the best color match to the rest of the house and the price seemed reasonable. But I cannot recommend LL flooring because of the install experience. read more

As a first time buyer you really don't have any idea of hardwood/laminate and it can be a little bit stressful trying to understand all things around getting new floor. The sales guys in the store(all of them), the coordinator and installation team were very helpful and patient all the time with my questions and concerns with very nice attitude. The material delivery and installation was on time with the quality I expect. The guys at the store never hurry me, even when they have more clients, honestly they will Make you walk of the store with a smile and you will keep that smile once your floor project is done. Lumber Liquidators was suggested to me by my handyman for having high quality flooring at reasonable prices, so I tried the one in Redford, MI. I admit from the outside appearance I was a little hesitant, but once you dodge the potholes in the parking lot and make your way inside it's worth it. The showroom is well lit and there are several hundred options to choose from. I liked that samples were even used on the floor and walls for decorative purposes. I was helped by Rob (and later Blake) who were both very professional and never once used any sales pitch or pressure to get me to buy right away. The samples I took home were free and large enough to actually get an idea on what it'd look like. Best of all the ending price was a couple hundred lower than I had thought it would be. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for hard flooring. read more

A few months ago I contracted lumber liquidators to replace 1200 sq ft of flooring in my home. I received multiple quotes for the project and even though lumber liquidators was the most expensive, I went with them after being sold on their quality of work and customer service backing. My hopes being, by paying a little more and getting it done right the first time I would not have to deal with this again for another 20 years or so. I selected some of the most expensive and durable LVP flooring and so on. The project went along fine but when it came to the finishing touches, there were a lot of corners cut and small items that needed to be repaired along with a major safety issue at the top of the stairs. I reached out to Aaron who I was told was the manager at the Redford location, showed him pictures, talked in person (calmly and friendly), and he assured that he would get these items taken care of ASAP. Well, two weeks went by and still nothing so I went in and spoke to him again. He again assured me he would contact the subcontractor they used and have them come out and fix it. Again I heard nothing. So I called the store for 3 days straight asking for him so that I could get an update or even get a contact number for the company who was supposed to finish the work and kept being told he was with a customer or out to lunch and he would call me back. That was about a month ago by the way and I've still never heard back from him. At some point he decided that since I've already paid a great deal of money for this large project that there was no need to remedy the trip hazard they created at the top of my staircase or even finish the work that was left incomplete. We never had any disagreements, never had a heated conversation, it was all clean and nice with me thanking him for helping me get this stuff buttoned up. But he apparently decided he no longer wanted to do his job. I finally gave up and was forced to reach out to their corporate customer care and start the process all over again. The representative was very helpful, apologized for his behavior and neglect in correcting what was an obvious safety issue created by the installers, and worked quickly to resolve it. She contacted the installers, they contacted me, and the issues were corrected. At the end of the day, the floor looks great, but I didn't get "hooked up" I didn't get a discount, I paid full price and even more than other companies quoted me so that I wouldn't have to deal with issues like this. This was incredibly unprofessional and neglectful. I do not recommend this location and will not return to lumber liquidators for future projects. It's a bummer, I had high hopes. read more

We visited Lumber Liquidators on the referral of a builder who had done some minor construction for us during a project by B-Dry. It was a great referral! We wanted to cover the old damaged asbestos tile in our basement with new tile. After hearing all the options available, from the extremely helpful store manager, we found suitable tile at a terrific price and had it installed by our builder. We had 24 boxes of tile left after the installation and Lumber Liquidators cheerfully refunded the cost of the unused tile. The staff were helpful and really nice. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for flooring at bargain prices! read more

The staff is not very professional and they take forever to ring you up, schedule your delivery, and installation, etc. Our tobacco road hand scraped hardwood floors are amazing and even better than we thought they would be after looking at them in the showroom. They also allowed us to cancel our install last minute which is why they get 4 starts instead of 1. The price was fair but did not reflect the additional cost of padding, trim, transition parts, delivery, etc. They also charge for an install measurement/estimate which is a bit behind the industry standard. read more

The worst customer service I have ever encountered. It takes weeks for them to respond to a service request call. They said they would escalate our problem to the regional manager who would contact us. We never heard from him. The last time we called we had to leave a message. That was weeks ago and no one has bothered to return our call. Do not waste your money with this company. We will never deal with them again. I wish we could give them a minus rating. read more

Their vendor who called as we were trying to schedule a time for them to measure the floor, was so rude. The woman was rude, I called back 4 times and left two voicemails and no one returned my call. Called Lumber Liquidators to get my refund and let them know we were taking our business elswhere and the woman on the phone never even apologized! awful customer service. My experience at this LL location was positive! This was my first adventure at picking out wood flooring and I found the task overwhelming. Mike helped me narrow down choices after explaining the different types of flooring and the Janka scale. On a subsequent visit, Christie was instrumental in helping me with stair noses and calculating last minute details. This experience was positive because of the knowledgable staff, who were patient with me as I fumbled through the tasks associated with a first time flooring buyer. They were also very accommodating it came to delivering the wood and when I needed to return a few leftover boxes. * I recommend! read more

While my beef is primarily with the conduct of Lumber Liquidators Corporation and one particular product of theirs, I previously posted this review for their Toano, VA corporate headquarters / flagship store, I dealt with this Redford store, am appalled with their behavior as well, so I'll re-post here. Somebody at LL apparently complained about my original review, conned, paid or threatened yelp into deleting my review and 7 other 1-star reviews from the Toano location's page. This review needs to stand as a WARNING regarding toxicity of one of their products, still proudly sold at this Redford store, and via the lumber liquidators website. Original review: TOXIC NIGHTMARE First and foremost, AVOID their CoreLuxe XD Dark Hollow Oak EVP product like the plague... After riding in a station wagon w/ the windows up, AC on for 25 min, my throat burned, I felt dizzy, and the car reeked like chemicals / urine. 4 hours later, I'm still feeling foggy, my throat hurts, and I've got to find other flooring in a hurry... We already ripped out all of the carpeting, my installer was there today to start! I ordered 75 boxes (~2100sqft) of this stuff from their store in Redford, MI on 5/6/17. I chose their product in no small part because they boasted of having two different certifications from UL for low emission of volatile organic compounds. They shipped 1 pallet of 50 boxes + 1 pallet w/ 7 boxes of the correct product + 18 boxes of something else entirely. Neither I, nor the guy helping me load noticed the different labels, I had to return to get the right stuff. Said dizziness, fumes I noticed on the longer (traffic) journey home the second time. I had my installer verify that the odor was coming from the flooring itself, not the cardboard packaging or wood pallet I stacked it on. I drove w/ the windows down to return it, couldn't get the sales person to even sniff the stuff. I took a photo of the label on one of the boxes after unloading, filed a formal complaint w/ UL re the clearly undeserved certification. I also complained about the horrid quality of the matching transition molding and stair nose they sell to complement this garbage. Rather than being made from thick PVC, they comprise a thin soft printed vinyl tape stuck to a very thin milky white extrusion... No way that stuff is going to last more than a few months of foot traffic, especially on stair edges. The sample I was shown *after* I placed the order, was already peeling at the end. When I asked the same salesperson who refused to sniff the toxic boxes about the molding, her reply was that she's had the same in her house for 3 years and it's fine, ALL of their molding is made that way. So far, (in 4 hrs since returning the product, 3hrs since filing the UL complaint, 1 hr since sending a formal complaint allegedly to their CEO) I've received a personal response from the UL stating they are starting a formal inquiry, and an automated response re the CEO complaint. BEWARE of anything from this company, who apparently has learned nothing from the 2015 scandal over formaldehyde content in their particle board / laminate flooring. If it's not one atrocity, it's another. -------------------- Update: Since this original ordeal and review, I was offered a deal on the rejected lot of flooring, after being assured by LL's Chief Compliance Officer, Jill Witter, that a group of LL executives, who happened to be making the rounds of Detroit area stores, visited the Redford store, all took a whiff, agreed that this flooring no longer reeked. This was 3 days after I returned all of it. I visited the store again, took one whiff, it still reeked. Both the store manager and 1 sales person *refused* to take a sniff, probably fearing for their jobs. I smell nothing by denial and cover-up, and am appalled that they are still selling this dangerous product and taking active efforts to quell honest accounts of their misdeeds in forums such as this. read more

I purchased my hardwood floor and paid for lumber liquidators to install the floor as well because I just don't have the time to do it myself. Where to begin, I was told in Michigan there is only one company doing the install. Then a third party (different sign on the truck) showed up claimed to be the same company at first but under questioning revealed that they are subcontracted. I should have stopped them there but the guys seemed decent enough. They installed the floor without leveling the floor and there are spots now after 5 days that moved a full 1 inch in the vertical when i walk upon it. I chose a floor that is full floating because i am covering a slab and it has glue together joints. Now after the install, the subcontractor is suggesting that i need to drill holes in the floor and pump foam underneath. I think they did not level the floor like they were supposed to. We first called the store which said we can to call a 1-800 HARDWOOD number. the 1-800 number people suggested we work with the contractor that wants to drill holes in the new floor. I called the installer (not the subcontractor) and have left two messages but have not gotten a call back. I called the store again in Redford, MI and was told that this is not their issue now and its the installer's problem. I think i just paid a ton of money for a floor that is going to crack in a few years. read more

So I order laminate flooring on April 24th after browsing in the the store. The gentleman who help me did a great job even down to making sure the information was verified. I was told I should be getting a call at the beginning of May to come pick up my order........ Now we jump to today. First I called trying to find out what was the status of my order. I was told I couldn't be located in the system. Then I gave them my phone number and my wife's phone number. I still couldn't be found in the system. So initially I was headed there to get a refund for the inconvenience, but cooler heads prevail so I asked could they look it up based on address (this was while I was in the store of course). They found the order and told me the phone number listed which was incorrect, so I grabbed the pick ticket and left out. I walked back in to verify the secondary number on the account (which belongs to my wife) and the number read was correct. I then asked why wasn't the secondary number called, and the response I received was "Unless someone informs us that the primary number being called is the wrong number or the phone call states that the number is disconnected or not in service; then we will call the secondary number". I could've had my floor laid down before the end of this week had the secondary number been called after no response was received the primary number. All in all we received our laminate flooring but I will not recommend that anyone goes to this location. read more

I recently went to the store Clinton Township which was quite a distance from my house,but the closest location. The flooring in my kitchen was discontinued, but when I e-mailed Lumbar Liquidators they said to bring in a sample of the floor and they will help me find the best match. When I went to the store I have never been treated so rudely. The person that originally helped was somewhat nice, but pretty much threw his arms in the air laughing and telling me that my sample is discontinued (which I knew). I was ready to buy a new floor, but when I asked another guy his opinion as to one that I found he didn't even look said "I have no idea". I left the store very discouraged as I had just wasted half my day. I ended up going to Lowe's and received the help I needed and found a perfect floor and purchased it. I had to go back in a few times for other stuff and the Manager Christie was amazing also! Rob Rocco also helped us this last time we went in and he was so helpful and kind. The only positive part of this experience was the original sales pitch. We purchased hardwood flooring in the early summer and are still dealing with headaches. Several of the boxes of flooring that were delivered to our home ended up being the wrong color, so the installers couldn't finish the job. That meant that we had to wait an extra five weeks for the right flooring to be delivered, acclimated, and installed. This led to additional labor delays and costs for other projects. The "offer" they gave us to "make things right" was so poor as to not be worth it. After it was installed, there were many issues of the flooring pieces separating. The installers were respectful (nothing bad to say about them), but trying to schedule warranty servicing was a joke. The contact e-mail listed on the warranty is useless. When I (finally) talked to someone through the warranty department, the rep admitted she had never heard of the e-mail address and didn't think anyone was supposed to respond to e-mail claims. I would avoid at all costs. read more

I purchased the flooring in September and hired the contractors to install the floor through Lumber Liquidators. The install date was a few weeks out and I was told it would take about 3 days. We had issues with the product during the install, Lumber Liquidators blamed their installers and the installers blamed Lumber Liquidators. The install took over 2 months to put in all the flooring however they did not install the trim at all or finish the nose molding to the stairs to a satisfactory condition. I have been calling the corporate office for months only to receive a call back once to offer me a small amount of a refund to not have them finish the work. I wanted to speak with my wife about that option back in December and have been calling back multiple times a week only to be told supervisors are not available and that they will call me back in 24 to 48 hours. I finally was able to speak to a supervisor in the customer service department February 4th and was told she doesn't have the authority to help me and that the supervisor on my file will call me back in 24 to 48 hours. It is now February 10th and I still have not received a call back. I am currently on hold and I was informed a minute ago that the supervisors are in meetings at the times I call. I have called morning, afternoon, and evening and every time I call I get the same answer that they are not available. This process is so frustrating and ridiculous.
