Colorado Family Orthopaedics - Dr. Garramone is the bees knees!

I better check him out. I saw 3 other surgeons to inquire about the pain in my knee. I had 3 different views and I wanted his expert opinion. Well, he agreed with the 1st and 3rd surgeon, that they were onto the right diagnosis and he could take care of it. Dr. Garramone spent as much time as I needed, not rushed out the door after a few moments... unlike some of the other Drs.... just saying... I liked his precise analysis along with his suggestion to also use PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Therapy.. so I said yes to him and scheduled my surgery. I really liked the hospital he was at and I got all emotional when Sky Ridge sent me a get well postcard with everyones signature. I'm a big baby... anyway the hospital was efficient, quick and staff was excellent! My surgery recovery, can I say surgery recovery was Great? Sure, it hurt but I expect when you cut into somebody's body and do stuff to a bone, it's going to hurt! But, Every Day I Got Better! I even took pictures so I could be distant from the healing process and remember exactly what it looked like instead of relying on my memory. I'm currently 7 weeks out from the torn meniscus and a whole bunch of other stuff he did, but again, Every Day, I feel better. Yes, it feels better than it did before and I could tell that after 5 days! Would I recommend him, a big Yes - 5 Stars completely. Go for it!!! VJ

He explained about the necessity of the labrum and told me that`s why I was in such pain all the time. He did surgery on it, told all about the recovery time, what I could and could not do, and after the follow up visit suggested a Platelet-Rich Plasma injection, which I believe helped expidite my healing. I would highly recommend Dr Garramone. His office personnel are extremely attentive, answer any further questions and return calls immediately. Outstanding experience!!

Definitely a five star outpatient surgery center. From checking in to leaving everybody I…read moreinteracted with here was wonderful and I really enjoyed that. They cared about patients and their guests. If you're waiting for your patient, the guest has access to complimentary soda, water , coffee, tea , there are charging stations in the waiting room and it is very comfortable. In the back it is a typical pre-op room with everybody in their private curtain area. The person who brought me was able to sit with me until I had to go into surgery . The operating room itself is nice as well. I had the opportunity to be awake for my surgery and every single nurse that helped my doctor was so helpful. There were about eight people in the room for a finger surgery. The follow up call nurses were very thorough and I have to have another surgery here soon and I am glad that I chose to come here.

I was scheduled for hip replacement surgery. In the preop room the nurses took my temperature and…read moresaid it was over 100 degrees so I must be sick. When I said I wasn't sick they said maybe I was sick and didn't know it. They took my temperature again and it was under 99. I asked them why the difference and they said their thermometer wasn't that accurate anyway. Then they took my blood pressure and said it was too high to do my surgery. They asked me why I didn't take my blood pressure medicine the night before, and I told them someone from their office called me and told me not to take it! Then they said they would take it again using a manual blood pressure machine. It took 4 of them standing around in a conference deciding that they didn't know where it was. When I told the anesthesiologist that I was allergic to a drug commonly give when using general anesthesia, he didn't know what it was and had to look it up on his cell phone! When I asked them why they couldn't give me something to lower the blood pressure, they said that would be only temporary and "we are not a hospital and are not prepared to handle any complications that arise from surgery"! It was amateur hour all the way. I would never go back there.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Shah! We've been going about two years with our now 14…read moreand 16 year-olds. My 14 y.o. daughter has autism and cerebral palsy and for years I had to lay under her and hold her down at the dentist. The first time with Dr. Shah I didn't even have to hold her hand. That first visit Dr. Shah scheduled her over the lunch hour so no other patients would be there and she could focus on her without having anything to distract my daughter. She did the cleaning herself and had extreme patience with my daughter, gave her breaks, and was just amazing. My daughter is non-verbal and wrote about how much she liked it. Every other experience has been wonderful and the visits prepared by daughter for orthodontic work and hugely built up her trust. Dr. Shah many times answers the phone, is available via e-mail, and always calls to follow up on any issues. My son had a big infection in his gums related to his wisdom teeth eruption. Dr. Shah called the next day to check on him and to see how his emergency visit to an oral surgeon went (instead of waiting to hear from the surgeon herself). She is extremely caring, patient, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her for ANY special needs child. She totally "gets" them. She remembers patients in great detail, too. They love her calling them "sweet child". :-) The schedule is usually very open, too. Changes can be made easily, which is something I have to do at times given my daughter's medical needs.
