I'd really like to see more good BBW joints in the Seattle area. This isn't one of them. This mobile trailer is found at various locations around Snohomish County and at its base near the Reptile Zoo just outside of Monroe. The calendar is on the web page. But why chase bad BBQ. This wood pellet (Traeger) grill smoked BBQ is dry. The smoke flavor is light to the point of being almost non-existent. The rub is okay, but when a brisket is this dry it's just not worth eating. The other meats are okay. The pork is probably the best thing, and it's just good not great. The ribs were okay too. The sides are about the only reason this has two stars instead of one. The mac and cheese is tasty and well made. The beans are good. Look, I don't write any reviews less than three stars and few less than four stars unless I have visited a place multiple times. Any place can have an off day, and I hate giving lower reviews to small businesses. But this is just NOT good BBQ. And, yes, I know a bit about BBQ, with deep roots in Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, and Italy. I've cooked many briskets. Many. With wood. Cooked many pork butts and ribs. Tons. And so has my family (I have two relatives in the Dallas area who cater BBQ). So, this is not an area where I have no experience. Oh, and don't snicker at Italy in the list. I visited Lloyd's for the first time today at the farmer's market in Monroe. I had been looking forward to trying some of the tasty food I keep hearing about. I especially want to try the pork belly bites, but those are only on Fridays. I ordered the most popular dish, the gomer. I asked what the freshest meat was because the reviews varied. Many stated that there was a lot of dry meats, others report tender and perfect. My suggestion if you don't want to be disappointed is to ask what is the freshest for that moment in time. Pork was it today and it was delicious. I think next time I would rather get the meat plate as all the sides piled onto the pork was a bit over the top for me. I wanted to taste each item they have separately, but it was challenging being piled together. But that is what I get for picking the popular item and not what I think I would enjoy more. Gomer was $12. I see the cost has gone from $10, then $11 and now $12. I would not be willing to pay more than $12 but I understand the cost of food has gone up. Curious why the nacho is $16. If I understand correctly it is just the gomer with chips and cheese. I don't think that is worth $4 more. Maybe the quantity is more too??? Overall, I am happy with my first trip to Lloyd's and looking forward to pork belly bites in my future. read more

Lloyd's catered a celebration for life for us and it was amazing.the. Their bbq sauce is the bomb so is the brisket and ribs and the Mac n cheese and omg the beans...EVERYTHING is awesome. Oh, my goodness this place is SO GOOD. I tried their food truck for the first time at the Monroe Farmer's Market and I am hooked. It's gonna be a great summer if they keep coming back. I got "The Koy" which is a rice bowl with a choice of 1 meat, coleslaw, and a creamy siracha dressing. I already want to order it again, it was so good. My wife got "The Gomer" which is a little more what you'd expect for BBQ, a meat choice + coleslaw and topped over mac n cheese. It was also super good. My wife and I stopped by Lloyd's for lunch today and wow. So glad that we did. Food was incredible. Owners were great people. Prices are reasonable and portions are perfect. I had the Gomer and the Mrs. had tacos. The Gomer is a perfect, stacked combination of Pork (meat of choice), Cole Slaw, Baked Beans, and Mac and Cheese. Their picked onions are great as well. I think I Just came at a bad time. There was no one in line, it was cold, and it was a Monday. 1 meat plate with 2 sides for $12.00 ehhh pretty average now days. They give you a load of meat with just the right amount of sides, I definitely got full. I got pulled pork which was cooked perfect but lacked flavor, the BBQ sauce was good with a slight kick, but they didnt put enough on. Baked Beans were soooo good, by far my favorite, I'd come here just for the beans. The Mac n Cheese was a disappointment. So, you guys deserve 5 stars, but nobody gets 5 on the first visit in my book ;) Lets see, where to begin. SUPER easy to get to, tons of parking, etc. The owners are super cool, very nice and easy to talk with. The menu, small and straight to the point. Its a bbq place, not Cheesecake factory. A few meats, and just the perfect sides to go along. I went with their 'gomer', which is a big ole' pile of yum. Choose a meat, pork in this case, which is then topped with mac & cheese, beans, and then coleslaw. OMFG, it was perfect. My wife went with their one meat meal, so she got the pulled pork, mac&Cheese, and slaw. Everything was right on point. The pork was super tender, with a great balanced smokiness. The coleslaw was good, could have used a touch more dressing, but thats just me. The mac and cheese was REALLY fantastic. My wife is very picky when it comes to mac & cheese, and she absolutely loved theirs. Overall, we WILL be back. I HIGHLY recommend Lloyds bbq. One thing tho, this is a food truck in a parking lot. So don't expect seating etc. They've done their best with a few seats and tables, but its not much so set your expectations! read more

Super tasty mac and cheese (unfortunately it was the only food item I had because I'm vegetarian so options are limited). Not sure why there are a few negative comments about the Mac n cheese. It was not greasy at all, the pasta was cooked proper, it definitely had flavor and in response to the Yelper Amanda S. that said "even salt and pepper couldn't help the Mac n cheese", well there's course ground pepper literally in the Mac n cheese (you can see it in her picture). Maybe it was an off day for them, because it was on a Thursday, but...Well, first, it's a food truck and at the time we visited, the smoker wasn't even fired up. We were the only people in line, but suddenly, they were out of mac and cheese, and would have to "whip some up", (at 11:30 am), so the wait was about 15 minutes, at a food truck...need I say more. For the price, I was shocked the small container wasn't heavier. I couldn't tell the difference between the brisket and the pulled pork, they were both shredded beyond recognition and frankly, tasted very similar. IMO, brisket served as a "plate" item, should be sliced, not shredded, save that for the tacos and sammies. The beans tasted like the canned type and I was not fan of the coleslaw, which was essentially flavorless...plenty of dressing, just no flavor. The mac and cheese was heavy on sour cream flavor, or whatever cheese it was they were using; pungent is the term I would use to describe the smell. Taking up space where the previous BBQ spot, Old School BBQ, was at must be a coup on their part, but it's nothing close to OSB, not by a long shot. Prices are high for what you get, the taste is mediocre, but I wish them lots of luck, because finding good Texas style BBQ in Washington is as rare as hen's teeth. read more

Delicious ribs! They're tender and moist. The meat almost falls off the bone... everything ribs should be. The sauce has just a wee kick to it. To me that's spicy. To others, probably not. The baked beans are gorgeous. Again, just a touch of heat, sweet, soft but not mushy. Nicely done. Here's the surprise: great cole slaw! It's so hard to find cole slaw that is creamy and crunchy with a traditional flavor. I'm not sure why. But this is it! Fresh and crisp. What a delight. I'll be back! read more

10 year Texas resident and Franklin (Austin) fanatic here. I know good BBQ when I see it and this is the real deal. Few places outside Seattle around here pass the muster. My only complaint is they always sell out so get there early. Regarding some of the negative reviews: Haters gonna hate Kenny, keep doing what you do and your meat will sell itself. Keep up the good work! Update: Got a smoked Turkey tonight for an early Thanksgiving dinner. I usually fry my own and was a bit skeptical about a smoked turkey turning out dry. The trailer is really nice, and the location is an easy spot to locate. Plenty of parking as well. The only thing I would recommend would be to have the smoker going. The smell alone creates a BBQ like atmosphere that I felt was missing! I ordered the 2 meat plate with 2 sides. I chose the sliced brisket and pulled pork, with beans and mac n cheese for my sides. The price was something I expected, $15, as that is pretty average for a 2 meat bbq plate. My food was served to me hot and the portion was a great size. Everything else about my meal was not what I expected. My brisket did in fact have a nice thin, pink smoke ring to it. But it wasn't moist, nor did it have much smokey flavor to it. Same for my pulled pork. The sides can definitely use major improvement. I know your probably thinking, "you come here for the BBQ, not the sides!" Which is a very true statement, but that doesnt mean the sides arent as important as the BBQ! The baked beans taste very similar to Bushs BBQ baked beans. We looked forward to trying Lloyd's for the first time. So disappointed. We ordered 2 brisket sandwiches & 1 brisket dinner so I can only speak for the brisket & the sides. The brisket was so very dry & over peppered. I tried putting bottled BBQ sauce on mine to help it. It did not help. The cole slaw tasted like bagged slaw from the grocery store. The BBQ beans tasted like canned baked beans with extra black peppered added. The mac & cheese was flavorless & over cooked. My husband & daughter ate some of theirs. I however threw mine away. It cost $40 for 3 of us. Sorry Lloyd's but J&L BBQ blows you out of the water. read more
