This place is absolutely incredible! If you're in line for a while, check out the cooler. It's not "fast" food, but it's the best BBQ and mac n cheese in town. The wait is worth it, even if it takes 15 minutes. The seating area was great, and I'm so glad we stopped. It's a shame it took us so long to find it!

Unbelievably good food. Trust this review and check it out. Food was served quick, hot and ready to eat. Mac & Cheese is the best I've ever had. It has a bit of a kick to it just incase you don't like spicy. The tables were clean and the smell of the BBQ near you is amazing.

Great family run business! Incredible food to boot

Wow wow wow BBQ that's makes this germ a phobe wanna lick her fingers lol! Incredible brisket and everything else. It's meat that just melts off the bone! Go try it you will NOT be disappointed

Everything pretty much sold out halfway through event.

I went to the Southern Skies Music and Whiskey Fest and pretty much everything was sold out about haldway through the event. I really wanted Wagyu so got in line, Dont know how the heck they can justify charging $28 for a sandwich with a side. There was only maybe 1.5 oz of meat no the sandwich. I really had to pee and set up tray on the shelf and well.... the floor ate my sandwich so I had $28 potato salad. That was tasty, but sadly didnt even get to try the sandwich. By their pricing I don't get why they charged so much since everything else was around $18-$24. In response to the OWNER: I am lowering my rating because of the response to by the owner. First.. I posted a picture proof of most things being out of stock. I went there at about 4pm and literally the only thing left was a wagyu sandwich and some sides. I paid cash an it was $27 and change for the sandwich and potato salad. But yet your menu ranges from $18-$24. If your menu ranges from that; but yet you charge $28 for a sandwich because that's all you have left... That's kind of shady. Second ...there was actually about 1.5 oz of meat... I know what 5-6oz of meat looks like and 2 slices of meat sure as heck isn't it. Im a clown? Cool. I have been on yelp and used to be elite because I leave HONEST reviews. I actually READ reviews, look at pics and judge for myself if a place is worth trying or not. I actually did get to try a sliver of meat. Yes it was my fault for not setting my food down on my chair giving someone the opportunity to steal it. So call me toxic, thats fine. I wont ever see you again, recommend it or give you another chance because of your attitude. Welllll... Im from Cali so I wouldn't say you have the best bbq. We have many bbq competitions that are televised. Your work isn't "undone" if people actually READ reviews and your response. I also read responses from owners and if they have a rotten attitude with a "pick me" or "victim complex"... I wont give them my money. Thats the beauty of America... we can spend our money where we want. Im told that people around TN dont even ever use yelp. Ive added about 30 businesses on here around the area because no one seems to use it. I give food reviews if they are deserved and I do reviews for myself so I know if I want to go back to the place. I dont do them for others. Im not blaming anyone for the dropped sandwich. I do blame being charged more than anything on the actual menu that nothing on the menu was $28......

Been searching for good TX barbecue in TN and this wins. Best in all of Knoxville for sure!

Last year as part as my annual trip to lakes near Knoxville, TN I stopped by Smoked Pickle and this year I did the same bringing some buddies. I've been coming to Knoxville for the last 9 years around July 4th eating some bbq each time. Smoked Pickle Barbecue is easily my favorite around Knoxville. It's everything I want in a Texas Style Barbecue. Nice and juicy meats with smokey flavor and peppery barks. We ended up getting two different plates. Got some of the flat and got some of the point. One of my buddies thought he took a bite of the point but upon opening his eyes it was actually a lean cut. Soooo juicy. Everyone else are the ribs before I could take a bite but remembering last year it was great as well. The jalapeño cheddar is a classic at this point and the ones here did not disappoint. Cheese oooozing at each bite. A nice creamy creamed corn that i could eat all day and the Mac so good that we tried to get more but they were already sold out. I'm already excited to stop by the next time im in the area.

    Thanksgiving sandwich

The best barbecue by far in the greater Knoxville area!!! Usually get the three meat plater but had to try the special. Thanksgiving sandwich with cranberry sauce, smoked gouda cheese, their smoked turkey and stuffing. It was as awesome as it sounds.

    Ribs, and potato salad.

We have enjoyed the food that smoked pickle barbecue offers many times over the last couple years. Our favorite items on the menu are the brisket, pulled pork, & jalapeño mac & cheese. We also like their ribs, slaw and their desserts. They really hasn't been an item that we didn't like.

I always judge a BBQ place by their burnt ends, if they get those right, everything else usually follows. Well, Dead End BBQ absolutely nailed it. The burnt ends here are everything you want them to be: perfectly smoky, just the right amount of sweet, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. They tell the whole story of the pitmaster's craft in a single bite. I also tried the smoked bologna, and one bite took me straight back to my adolescence, rich, savory, and with that nostalgic flavor only real wood smoke can give. The Pimento Mac & Cheese was another standout: creamy, cheesy, and with that subtle pimento tang that keeps you going back for "just one more forkful." My daughter went for the brisket, and she raved about how juicy and flavorful it was, with just the right amount of bark. We both appreciated the variety of BBQ sauces available, each bringing its own personality to the table, sweet, tangy, spicy, you can mix and match to your heart's content. Service was friendly and laid-back, and the atmosphere felt like a true BBQ joint should: warm, casual, and a place you want to linger. Dead End BBQ isn't just a meal, it's a reminder of why great barbecue is worth the stop.

Though the food quality is fine, I have never in my life seen such small portions for the sides and the correlating prices. After last night I'm not sure if we will ever return. We were seated outside at a table that was right in front of the in and out doors. We waited almost 15 minutes before someone came to wait on this. Honestly this would have been longer if my husband hadn't gone in to ask about a server for our table. Mind you, there were plenty of servers walking to help the other tables around us as we were waiting. Finally a server walked up, her name started with an A, and she was very flippant with helping us. I ordered a beer and my husband ordered water and son ordered a soda. We also went on and ordered since we had no idea when she would return for our order. She brought the water and soda but no beer and then we didn't see her (at our table) until our food came out. My beer came out with the food, a good 10 minutes after I ordered it. I know you may be thinking that the bar was backed up but her other table (that arrived after) got their drinks right away and also a 2nd order of drinks before I received my beer. She never came to check on us with our food and spent more time at the table that arrived with her friends. Her attitude and personality was vastly different with our table versus her friend's table. When it came time to get us our check. I saw her roll her eyes and walked towards us. I let it slide instead of calling her out on her actions as I just wanted to leave. We paid our check and left. I truly feel like this will be our last time here because of the service we received. We have many friends who travel to Knoxville for various sporting events (since I'm in that industry) and I always recommend Stock and Barrel. After last night, I'll be recommending some other place.

The calendar is on the web page. But why chase bad BBQ. This wood pellet (Traeger) grill smoked BBQ is dry. The smoke flavor is light to the point of being almost non-existent. The rub is okay, but when a brisket is this dry it's just not worth eating. The other meats are okay. The pork is probably the best thing, and it's just good not great. The ribs were okay too. The sides are about the only reason this has two stars instead of one. The mac and cheese is tasty and well made. The beans are good. Look, I don't write any reviews less than three stars and few less than four stars unless I have visited a place multiple times. Any place can have an off day, and I hate giving lower reviews to small businesses. But this is just NOT good BBQ. And, yes, I know a bit about BBQ, with deep roots in Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, and Italy. I've cooked many briskets. Many. With wood. Cooked many pork butts and ribs. Tons. I especially want to try the pork belly bites, but those are only on Fridays. I ordered the most popular dish, the gomer. I asked what the freshest meat was because the reviews varied. Many stated that there was a lot of dry meats, others report tender and perfect. My suggestion if you don't want to be disappointed is to ask what is the freshest for that moment in time. Pork was it today and it was delicious. I think next time I would rather get the meat plate as all the sides piled onto the pork was a bit over the top for me. I wanted to taste each item they have separately, but it was challenging being piled together. But that is what I get for picking the popular item and not what I think I would enjoy more. Gomer was $12. I see the cost has gone from $10, then $11 and now $12. I would not be willing to pay more than $12 but I understand the cost of food has gone up. Curious why the nacho is $16. If I understand correctly it is just the gomer with chips and cheese. I don't think that is worth $4 more. Maybe the quantity is more too??? Overall, I am happy with my first trip to Lloyd's and looking forward to pork belly bites in my future.
