Wow... this place was so good! We ordered ahead for a small party and were glad we showed up about 20 minutes early because the line was already backed up. Pro tip: if you order online, arrive early since you never know how long the wait might be. The Texas-style brisket was an absolute must-have, great flavor and some of the best I've had. The Carolina pork was also delicious, especially with their red sauce, which took it to another level. The smoked sausage links, filled with brisket and pork, were incredible. The mac and cheese was one of the best I've ever had, with green chilis that gave it amazing flavor. The Texas beans and slaw were both excellent too. You have to check out their huge smoker, it's impressive! They only have covered outdoor seating, but it's comfortable, and they even have bubbles on the tables to keep kids entertained while you wait. Even the porta potties were surprisingly nice. We spent over $100 on this order, We ordered turkey, but received pork. They were touching their face and beards while preparing food the whole time. We will never go back. read more

I went to the Southern Skies Music and Whiskey Fest and pretty much everything was sold out about haldway through the event. I really wanted Wagyu so got in line, Dont know how the heck they can justify charging $28 for a sandwich with a side. There was only maybe 1.5 oz of meat no the sandwich. I really had to pee and set up tray on the shelf and well.... the floor ate my sandwich so I had $28 potato salad. That was tasty, but sadly didnt even get to try the sandwich. By their pricing I don't get why they charged so much since everything else was around $18-$24. In response to the OWNER: I am lowering my rating because of the response to by the owner. First.. I posted a picture proof of most things being out of stock. I went there at about 4pm and literally the only thing left was a wagyu sandwich and some sides. I paid cash an it was $27 and change for the sandwich and potato salad. But yet your menu ranges from $18-$24. If your menu ranges from that; but yet you charge $28 for a sandwich because that's all you have left... That's kind of shady. Second ...there was actually about 1.5 oz of meat... I know what 5-6oz of meat looks like and 2 slices of meat sure as heck isn't it. Im a clown? Cool. I have been on yelp and used to be elite because I leave HONEST reviews. I actually READ reviews, look at pics and judge for myself if a place is worth trying or not. I actually did get to try a sliver of meat. Yes it was my fault for not setting my food down on my chair giving someone the opportunity to steal it. So call me toxic, thats fine. I love good barbecue. As I travel I look for local barbecue joints. We just stopped by Smoked Pickle on Ebenezer and it is, by far, the best in not just Knoxville but across East Tennessee. I had the brisket, pork ribs, and pulled pork along with sides of mac and cheese, jalapeño corn, and loaded potato salad. The smoked meats did not need a sauce, although the thick spicy sauce is very good. The meat is spiced well and the smoke permeates each bite. The sides were great and complemented the meat. Portions are generous. Take time to head out to west Knox and frequent this business. It will be a regular stop for my family. read more

Last year as part as my annual trip to lakes near Knoxville, TN I stopped by Smoked Pickle and this year I did the same bringing some buddies. I've been coming to Knoxville for the last 9 years around July 4th eating some bbq each time. Smoked Pickle Barbecue is easily my favorite around Knoxville. It's everything I want in a Texas Style Barbecue. Nice and juicy meats with smokey flavor and peppery barks. We ended up getting two different plates. Got some of the flat and got some of the point. One of my buddies thought he took a bite of the point but upon opening his eyes it was actually a lean cut. Soooo juicy. Everyone else are the ribs before I could take a bite but remembering last year it was great as well. The jalapeño cheddar is a classic at this point and the ones here did not disappoint. Cheese oooozing at each bite. A nice creamy creamed corn that i could eat all day and the Mac so good that we tried to get more but they were already sold out. The ribs were got were not your typical fall off the bone ribs, the meat was hard to remove in some spots. Loved the potato salad and the mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. This place is a food truck next door to Pip's Iron Works. Has several outdoor picnic tables if you want to eat there. Their hours are Thursday through Saturday 11-7 or until sold out. Had the brisket which was great. Moist, tender, no need for a knife. No need for sauce either, which tells you this is great brisket. Had slaw which was a little bland. Needed more bite from the vinegar. Had the street corn salad which was a special of the day, good. More along the lines of a creamed corn than a cut off the cob grilled corn. Saw the sign for this place and decided to look it up! Saw great food pics and solid ratings so gave it a try. Easy to get into the parking and lots of seating with shade which is good. I ordered The Lawson pulled pork sandwich with a side of truffle tots and an extra tennessee white BBQ sauce. Total was $17.48 plus tip, so definitely a little pricier, but not outrageous for a small business in Knoxville. Food came out quick and girl who served me was efficient. As for the food, the tots had a ton of flavor and were nice and crispy. 10/10! The sandwich was yummy, the BBQ was moist and really piled on there. Both items did come out kinda cold so I had to heat it up. But would consider coming back to try it again as the flavor was great! read more
