We ate brunch here today, and everything was fantastic. Biscuit and gravy was phenomenal and tenders and waffles were also top notch. They are also family owned and local. A return to try more of their food is in the future.

We love noodles. Penne for Your Thoughts has all kinds of yummy baked pasta. They have different combinations and our whole family loves all the flavors. The service was good. We got our food ordered quickly at the front and got our food from the window toward the back. The ambiance was good and we like the Knoxville Sunsphere painting with all kinds of pasta throughout.

One of my favorite things about food trucks is how they go over-the-top with their flavors. Penne For Your Thoughts has definitely translated that to their restaurant!! So good! Everybody is so sweet here! And I love the Waffle Sunsphere!

Great little lunch spot right on Northshore! We had been meaning to try it for quite some time and I am so happy we finally got here. In my son's words, they had the 'best waffle fries he ever had'! We had the vegetarian pasta, cheesy bread, waffle fries and crispy brussels...all were delicious!

I had heard great things about the food and finally decided to try. I was torn between the macaroni and cheese and the penne. I went with Stranger than fiction and an unsweetened basil iced tea with the s'mores bowl for dessert. It was amazing and I had leftovers of both, which was so much better the next day!

This place highly exceeded our expectations. Not just because it happened to be in the middle of Dollywood so they highly exceeded our culinary expectations! Everything was DELICIOUS!!!! The service was absolutely amazing. We asked for plain noodles for our picky kiddos and he was able to deliver. Wow wow wow!!! We will be back every time.

Grinder with waffle fries (Penne for your thoughts) NOTE: drink straws are made from dried pasta
    Sylvia R.

Enjoyed lunch twice at their establishment on Northshore Drive. My favorite is the grinder sandwich served on a fresh baguette. The bread is so moist It taste like its prepared with Love. WARNING: The waffle fries are addicting! Both are phenomenal. Fun fact: you can choose a long piece of pasta to use as a drinking straw.

Thoroughly enjoyed my carb heavy meal from penne for your thoughts. Their food was just as delightful as the names they choose to use for their dishes. I tried the pastative thinking which was penne with Alfredo, pepper, mozzarella and it was overall pretty good! The portion was good, was very full from just that alone.

The Meat Grinder (Italian sub) with Parmesan waffle fries and Basil-infused tea.

Third time here, and I'm returning in the future! This place is absolutely spotlessly clean (including the restrooms) and well organized. It's also small, but I've never seen it crowded. The cashiers are always friendly, patient and helpful, as was todays experience. My wife and I split the Meat Grinder (Italian sub) with the Parmesan waffle fries. It is one awesome tasty and overstuffed sandwich, and those fries are uniquely wonderful too. We find splitting it is (along with the fries) is plenty for lunch. Everything is made fresh to order. I loved their basil-infused tea as well. I mix the sweet and unsweet (I hope that's okay) and get the perfect flavor...for me. It's a great place to eat in the area that offers something different than others. Another nice side note, is their extensive use of recyclable dishware. We look forward to returning to try other menu items.

Their take on a burger; try it! Chopped Dead Gorgeous
    Marcia W.

I found them on Instagram and signed up for a coupon sloffer. Great decision on my part. The service is very good. Miss Jade helped me redeem the electronic savings, and I ate half my CHOPPED DEAD GORGEOUS sandwich there (the portions are huge). When I brought my daughter's order of NAAN OF YOUR BUSINESS home, she fell in love too. Because I opted for the brussels sprouts as a side dish, we were able to share it. While waiting for my food to be prepared, I talked with other patrons who have nothing but good things to say about this place. It's a very neat and clean establishment with a modern eatery vibe. I will definitely be back!

Absolutely AMAZING!! I've been meaning to try this place for awhile now, and I'm so glad I finally stopped in! Super kind and helpful staff, and the food was some of the best I've had in Knoxville, and I've lived here my entire life! Highly recommend.

I felt like the food was a very strong 4 but the service was a 10 which is why we gave them 5 stars. Chris was our server. He explained the specials, the new items, gave us very honest and open feedback about choices when we asked for more information. He took a sincere concern for the food allergies we have and understood how cross contamination occurs. He wanted us to be safe. I LOVE that when we told us about dessert options he mentioned one had alcohol but that it was "cooked out " in the sauce. I'm 9 years sober so it's imperative that I know when there's alcohol in or cooked out of a dessert. Not enough serving staff do this. They had just sat a whole bunch of tables so Chris told us right away they were backed up in the kitchen. He gave us a timeline and let us know if we knew what we wanted he'd get our order in immediately to hopefully help with the time. We did that. Food came out much quicker than expected and he kept communicating with us. Food looked good but unfortunately they brought out the wrong food for me. I ordered fish and chips and got chicken tenders. Chris didn't bring it out to us but immediately when we found out he expedited a new order. It was out in less than 5 minutes and was perfect, even with the no seasoning and extra crispy fries. My husband had the bison burger. He said it was a bit bland and a bit overcooked but otherwise good. He really enjoyed the sweet potato fries with it. There was a nice amount of food left over from my dinner and it was the perfect amount for my husband. Chris welcomed us to come back and see him so we could have someone to rely on who knows our food allergies. He encouraged us to become regulars of his. His communicating skills were excellent. So even when we had a couple problems it was easy to smooth it over because he cared so much. We will definitely be back in his section and try something new. Thanks Chris for an excellent dinner experience.

We're not expecting ultra-authentic Mexican food everywhere, but if you can't even get close, maybe don't put tacos on the menu because this felt genuinely insulting. We ordered the "small" taco board that we were told would feed 2-3 people, and it came with bland shredded chicken that tasted boiled, plus carrots, sugar snap peas, mushrooms, and corn scattered across the board like stir-fry vegetables. It also included the smallest portion of steak with chimichurri (Argentinian not Mexican), bland green salsa, terrible store-bought tasting red salsa, and "homemade" tortillas. There was almost no seasoning or flavor in any of it. The photo attached is just the chicken portion of the board because honestly the rest wasn't even worth photographing. The $15 guacamole was also extremely underwhelming for the price -- tiny portion of chips, one tiny lime wedge, and we were brought salt so we could finish seasoning it ourselves. Service was okay, but overall spending around $75 for two beers, guacamole, and food we barely wanted to finish was frustrating. Sadly, the ambiance and decor were the best part of the experience. Safe to say we will not be coming back.

The live music that is there when we have to listen is a really nice touch. Parking is limited right around the building itself, but there is plenty behind it - just keep driving a few more feet, and you'll see it. The service has been generally great, but our last trip was a bit of a miss - I suppose the difference between brunch/lunch and dinner service. I believe part of the reason was that our 2.5 YO kiddo was ruining the vibe for couples (and the staff as well). If you don't want kids there, then say so. And even if you didn't say it with your words, your actions did. Part of this showed up when we were trying to get a high chair for what felt like 5 minutes - I could see i,t and they went to seat others and had us wait...which created squirming and an unhappy kiddo. After this point, all of the ordering we tried to do in this same sitting was met with a mostly poor attitude and delays from not coming over. The food was delayed and was cold. Again, not going to fight for it and have to wait longer with a little with us. We've not been back since this, and I'm unsure we will try again with a kid. Now that this is out of the way, the dinner experience is night and day different - great service, food, and drinks with little to no issues. So, TL;DR - dinner experience 5/5, lunch/brunch experience 3/5, taking the average of 4 for a 4/5.
