The staff at the desk is friendly and walks you through their iPad checkin. Staff doing the tests are also very patient. I didn't have to wait that long even though I was walk in. Lobby is spacious. Dressing rooms are clean with laundered gowns and safe areas especially since it's a coed dressing area.

Parking was easy and going inside has directions for the office. Once inside you are greeted very quickly and if you have pre-filled out your information then all the front office needs are your ID, Doctor's Order and insurance. The waiting area is comfortable and once your docs are returned you wait for your appointment. I was called up on time, there is a changing room and bathroom and the technician with have you identify yourself (Hian sp) and then the test is done very quickly and efficiently. I had my written results by the afternoon and my PCP's comments the next day (weird that patients get the results before the doctor butt it's the law). A very satisfactory visit. I will return Tuesday to have my disk of results.

We have been planing a gender reveal party with a numerous amount of family and close friends. We both made it a point to tell her we DON'T want to know the gender of the baby because we have waited this long to learn the news together with our loved ones. So this "genius" technician comes up with the "bright idea" that she is going to call our baby a "he" just for the sake of a placeholder during the appointment. Everything is going good and then we get to the point where she checks the gender, she tells us to close our eyes which we do. Literally 2 or 3 minutes after she checks the gender she says "oh there goes her little ankle"...WTF?!!! How stupid can you be?!! We told her we did not want to know and maybe if she didn't come up with the idiotic idea of calling the baby a "he" the whole time it would not have been such a obvious contrast in gender verbiage when she spilled the beans. Then the "genius" technician goes back to referring to the baby as "he" again like we are idiots. My wife and I went home devastated that she ruined this for us, this is our first baby, we wanted every step to be special and she robbed us of our moment. We went home opened the paper to see the results as we already pretty much knew and of course the paper said "it's a girl". If I ever see her again it's going to take every bit of my being not to curse her out. Word of advice if you come here and don't want to know the gender just tell the technician to just shut up and don't talk the entire appointment.

My biggest issue with this place is the billing department/practices and the front desk. I recently got married and my legal name is on my insurance card but Inova would not allow me to change my name in their records because I did not yet have a photo ID with my new name (I've been waiting months for an appt with the DMV). Every other Inova office seems to understand this and submits my claims to insurance using my legal name. The first time I went to the antenatal testing center, they made me pay $399 upfront for some reason. They then submitted my claim to my insurance using my maiden name so of course it was denied. It took months to get this sorted out. The second time I went, I still did not have my photo ID with my married name, but I brought other documentation. The woman at the front desk was rude and basically yelled at me that I could not change my name without an ID. I told her I don't care what they call me, but they need to submit my insurance claim properly. She assured me they would submit it with my legal name. The claim was submitted yet again with my maiden name and I had to spend over two months getting that sorted out again. Even though my insurance covered, they have not refunded me the $399, though they say they will eventually. The issue is that my HSA vendor has changed since last year so dealing with that refund will be a mess. I would have preferred they not taken that money from me to begin with. Now I know not to pay them up front at all. Do not recommend this place unless you have a lot of time on your hands to spend on the phone with their billing department. Also, go through your insurance claims with a fine toothed comb, since they submit things incorrectly which would erroneously cause insurance to deny your claims.

At least this would open the way for someone who hasn't lost sight of what a privilege it is to be a comforting presence to a frightened patient.

After waiting and hearing nothing, I finally called myself and learned the results had apparently never been sent to my doctor. Patients should not have to chase down imaging results and wonder whether their results were reviewed or communicated. This isn't just an inconvenience, it's a patient care issue. People get imagining done because they are trying to rule out or evaluate potentially serious conditions. If someone simply assumed their doctor had received the report and didn't follow up, important findings could be delayed. Definitely find another center if you care about your health.

Ok, first things first. The office was nice and clean, the receptionist was a little late but not…read morereally a problem. But your there to take blood and this is my main problem. I've gotten my blood taken plenty of times, part of it is because its my job, other parts is because of check ups, blood drawns and what have you. The first person who took my sons blood was horrendous. She missed my son's vein, then started to fish the needle around. My son is 8 and on the thin side. I thought that needle was going to come out of his arm the way she was pushing and shoving it. Finally she gave up and pulled the needle out. She was going to try again and I told her no,and that i had never seen anyone move a needle that much in someone's arm. She got snippy and asked if I wanted someone else to do it. I said yes and she went to get her co worker. As she was on the other room she said that it was because my son had small veins and hadn't had alot of water. Then the other person came up, stuck the needle in and found the vein immediately. She left the needle in as she got the vials of blood she needed. No fuss, no mess. As she was filling things out she was mutterinv "oh, God!" Like I was bothering her. My next action after this is to find her manager and log a complaint.
