I've unfortunately had numerous MRI scans from knee to spine. Every instance has been efficient. Personnel are always pleasant. The changing rooms adequately sized to secure your belongings. I appreciate that they are open late to accommodate work schedules. It can be claustrophobic when inside the machine. The machine is noisy but they give you foam earplugs as well as an over the ear headphones to mute the sounds. I find the sounds are like white noise and am able to relax knowing that I won't be bothered during the procedure. read more

My experience on Friday evening as the last patient of the day was excellent. All the staff were friendly and professional. In particular, the male tech who conducted my exam was very helpful and assisted me in getting up, which was difficult due to pain. No where to sit comfortably, no water offered. There needs to be a cushion to sit on, too hard. Maybe a blanket. read more

Very unfortunate. My (88) year old mother tried to schedule an appt. by phone with MRI of Reston. Her primary care physician sent over the paperwork the day before but they said that they never received anything. I physically watched them fax the order to them, oh well. So today, we drove over there in person to schedule an appt. and they told her, "oh, we don't perform that MRI here and then never offered to help her schedule elsewhere". That piece of information would have been helpful before we drove all the way over there from Chantilly. The person at the front desk said that she was "too busy" even though my mother was the only one at the front desk at the time (approx. 1:30pm on Tuesday February 3, 2026). My friendly and mild-mannered mother told the woman at reception that "in her (88) years she had never received such poor service" and walked out the front door. I didn't just feel bad for my mother but I felt bad for all the elderly people that must go thru something similar. It's not easy to get out at that age and drive across town thru the cold and snow, just to find out that (MRI of Reston) CAN'T and ultimately WON'T help you. I have claustrophia and an open MRI is the only way to go for me. They now have 2 open MRIs at this location and the newest one is 100% less intimidating than the one I'm used to. We had a good experience with this group. Initially, they lost the referral from the neurologist's office. Upon follow-up, they were very apologetic and worked hard to get us scheduled quickly, i.e. the same day that we talked. They were very accommodating and worked hard to fit us in. Good experience all around. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. My MRI took 30 minutes. It was not easy laying perfectly still and trying not to breathe deeply for that long. I really liked how easy it was to get a sooner appointment than other places. I drove a considerable distance to use this facility but I would definitely use them again. The only suggestion that I have is with the tablet check-in. My tablet wasn't functioning well so I had to ask front desk for help and in doing so she asked me personal questions that others could overhear. That won't change my mind about using this location and I will recommend it to others. read more

Check in was simple and I waited about 30 minutes. I was called in and given a little storage room with a key to store my belongings to keep them safe. The nurse checking me in and giving me the info was kind and even came to get me from the bathroom when it was my time. This is a great center, from the call I got the day before the test from a very nice lady, her name is Ann it turned out she is the manager, she said to pull up to the door, call the office and ask for help, we will come out and help you, I was stunned, needless to mention very pleasantly surprised for that extra kind touch. When we were there, we bumped into her again, she held the bathroom door and apologized that the doors aren't as user friendly as much as she wants, then she brought us the MRI disk and the report from the previous MRI we had done. Then she told me to get the car and she will help me get my mother in the wheelchair to the car! Just amazing! I was so grateful and felt this warm welcome from her and the whole experience. Once scheduled the portal and online pre-appointment forms are easy, convenient and were recognized when I reported for my appointment. Personal room and locker to prep and an easy step process for the actual MRI. You can receive both ear plugs and headset protection...the extra pillow is well worth it, too. Unfortunately I've been here more than once. Not the kind of place you want to frequent. Fortunately every time I've been here it's been smooth sailing. The check in process is easy, saving time when I got there. The staff was great too. The technician (MRI guy) was waiting for me after I changed into a gown. I barely sat in the waiting room too after getting checked in. The technician explained everything to me and even though he's said it hundreds of times, it felt like it was for me only. The open MRI was great too, as I am slightly claustrophobic. I hope you don't need their services, but if you do you'll have a great experience if yours is anything like mine. read more
