I have never been so humiliated in my life! I am beyond angry! I go in and right from the start I…read moreshould have known treatment wouldn't go well. When I checked in and told them the VA sent me the nurse at the admissions window started glaring at me and was speaking to me rudely. I finally get in and get out in a bed by the wall in the hallway outside the nurses station. The nurse Andy was not very attentive and after he put in the IV and took my blood and urine sample I didn't see him again until I got his attention and asked about my results. At that point he said he hadn't looked at them yet, he was busy. Ok I get that so I try to be nice because my daughter is. Nurse and I know that things aren't always easy on them. I just laid on the bed on the bed and waited. The Dr. or should I say the PA Alexander Overby had talked to me right after Andy put the IV in, and when I talked to him I told him my concerns. I was shaking really bad and I felt lightheaded and a little dizzy and felt like I was a little drunk. (Hadn't been drinking) The VA was concerned it could be my blood sugars as I have been diagnosed with diabetes recently. I was unsure if it was that or I was having a panic attack as they present the same and I have both conditions. I also showed the PA my swollen legs and feet. All he said was that it looked like I have water retention and it could be from a psychiatric drug, I then told him I am on one. He told me he ordered the tests and after he gets them back he would let me know what happens next. Well I he never came back, the nurse Andy did. He just came to me undid my IV and told me I was diagnosed with Methamphetamine use and that I could go and handed me the discharge papers. I was shocked! I tried to tell him that they didn't even ask what medications I was taking and if he had he would know I take 60mg of adderall every day as prescribed by the Dr. All he said well that can cause the same symptoms too. I didn't know what to say, then I said well can you call my husband to pick me up? My phone is dead. His response was, "The exit is that way" I get back to the front and ask the ladies at the front desk if they could call my husband and the nurse sneered at me and asked why I couldn't use the charging station? The station was clearly in between people. All of this has me fuming and forget about the lack of privacy Andy told me in a crowded hallway that basically I'm a meth abuser!

I've spent the last two days here being treated for a cat bite wound to the face, and I'll be…read moredischarged tomorrow. Overall, I'm highly satisfied with the care I received. Compared to my experience at Stormont Vail, the care here was significantly better more thorough, attentive, and patient-centered. What stood out most was that I was taken seriously. I sought a secondary opinion here, and the team didn't dismiss my concerns. Instead, they presented me with options including the choice between conservative outpatient care or being admitted for inpatient treatment. I appreciated being included in that decision-making process, and I chose inpatient treatment. That choice made a difference in my healing and peace of mind. The reason for four stars instead of five is simply because nothing is ever perfect and a few very minor, personal observations don't outweigh the overwhelmingly positive experience I've had here. They aren't even worth mentioning in detail because they would distract from the excellent clinical care I received. I'm grateful for the team that looked after me and helped me recover safely. I would absolutely recommend this hospital for anyone seeking quality, responsive care especially if you feel your concerns aren't being taken seriously elsewhere.

The ER department from Receptionist to Triage to SOME Nurses, are sub-par. I could not breathe…read moreproperly and coughing to the point of lower bloodOx numbers yet they had me sitting out in the lobby for hours. When I finally did get to the ER portion, after basically forcing it, I was treated rudely and rough by the Nurse. The Dr. did do some tests and such but when my blood Ox obviously went to 80% the wrong assessment was, no worries, you're ok. No I wasn't, my airway was so blocked I could not get a full breath to feel safe. No help. Horrible assessments and horrible nurse. The intake was more concerned with her conversations with co-workers. The triage clearly wanted to get to her clock out time and didn't push me through for help.

I rarely leave reviews like this, but my experience at Saint Luke's East Emergency Department was…read moreextremely disappointing. I arrived at 12:10 a.m. and was not taken to a room until 3:30 a.m. I understand ERs triage by acuity, so the wait alone is not my primary complaint. My concern is what happened once I was roomed. The treatment room was visibly dirty--full trash and dirty-linen receptacles, debris/hair on the floor, and a dirty pillow underneath the bed. I reported it to the nurse and was told it would be addressed. I also took photos documenting the conditions. Dr. Cox was the bright spot of the experience. He was caring, compassionate, and took my concerns seriously. Unfortunately, after he ordered my workup, there were significant delays. Radiology came twice to perform my CT but couldn't proceed because the required IV had not been placed. Despite multiple calls for assistance, my IV wasn't established until more than an hour after Dr. Cox evaluated me. After the shift change, my experience with Dr. Burley was completely different. I found his bedside manner dismissive, accusatory, and lacking compassion. I felt rushed out rather than treated like a patient whose concerns mattered. Between the dirty room, poor responsiveness, delays in ordered care, and dismissive discharge experience, I was extremely disappointed. I appreciate Dr. Cox's professionalism, but based on my overall experience, I would not return to Saint Luke's East for emergency care.
