Alberto Iraola comes across as professional and mannered but I was extremely shocked by how he turned out to be, especially on the phone. First of all, he advertises his services at a rate that is unjustifiably high. We live in a very nice NW neighborhood but that does not mean we do not know the value of hard work and we're willing to pay for it, but with Alberto Iraola handling Rock Creek Landscaping, the work was hardly ever perfect and the accounting even worse... Half of the time the work charged was not properly done and we let it slide, even tipping the workers extra but when another astronomical bill came in the mail just to clean up our yard, we decided to question it.Oh boy, we realized quickly his temper and attitude was not someone we wanted to be working at our house. Before the end of the season, I informed Alberto Iraola (with a month notice) that we would not be needing his services anymore. Not only did he overcharge me on purpose to recoup some more money, but he also lied multiple times by saying he had never received a Zelle payment I made two months back. When I asked politely why there were so many"mistakes" on my bill and said I would not pay the balance until it is clearly explained, he first threatened to add late fees to the previous balance (which I had paid on Zelle) and then when he admitted I did make a payment on Zelle instead of apologizing, Alberto Iraola became extremely aggressive and threatening. I could not believe my ears, Alberto Iraola blurred out a whole slew of insults and racist remarks at me, for no apparent reason- especially targeting me being a "woman" and insulting my race and culture - which we've never even discussed... If you are a woman, have girls in your house, or are simply a respectful and decent human being, I would not hire Alberto Iraola and his team at Rock Creek Landscaping.

The downspouts in the back of my yard had no run from their termination points, and the one that…read moredid collapsed a few weeks ago. I contacted Nature's Friends to sort out my issues and Cliff was over at my house in no time. He talked through any prior water retention issues I had, and came up with a plan to future proof our house from any flooding that could happen with big storms. The crew were back out within a few days and executed the plan as Cliff specified. The laborers placed one of the pop-ups a little too close to the house, and without any intervention, the day-of-supervisor spoke with me to let me know they would extend it according to plan, and corrected everything. They also replaced my sump pump, which was not the easiest thing due to a seized grate closure (see pics), and at a fraction of the price quoted by plumbers. I was really impressed with how quick everything was completed, and for a job like this (digging long trenches to run PVC), my yard looks nearly immaculate. They gave me instructions to heal the grass patches so my lawn would look as it did before in no time. After the work was done, Cliff reached out to make sure all was working well when it rained. I highly recommend reaching out to Nature's Friend for any of your needs -- you can tell they really care about their customers, and I will be reaching out to them for any future landscaping needs.

Very unfortunate and bad experience with Dunlevy. Over a multi-year period, after installing an…read moreentirely new front yard and garden, a number of plants died, and then many of the replacement plants died. Our yard was very swampy (which Dunlevy installed) and the grass continually died out. The most we ever got from them was a shrug, and a suggestion that it was the best they could do, even though we had annual contracts with them, requiring us to pay them large monthly sums for continual upkeep of our yard and garden. When plants (many, many of them) died, we would be told to "wait" and see what happened in the spring. Eventually the dead plants would get replaced, but there was never a time that our yard and garden looked completely alive. In a couple of areas, it was obvious that several bushes were not getting the appropriate amount of water, even though Dunlevy installed the irrigation system and we constantly expressed concern about coverage. Time after time, we would point out dying plants to them. When a replacement plant (and even replacements for the replacements) would die, we would ask why things would continue to die in the same exact area. "Sometimes plants just get sick," we were told. In the last year Dunlevy worked for us, a group of bushes, flox and other perennials in a couple of different locations (front and back yards) died out in a pattern (like a stream). It happened after an application of weed killer or some other type of grass treatment. Dunlevy told us to "wait" and see what happened. These areas continued to brown out and die until we pitched a fit about it. When he couldn't explain things nor develop a solution to keep our plants alive, Dunlevy said, "obviously we can't meet your expectations". It shouldn't be expecting too much of a very highly paid landscape service to help plants grow, instead of watching them die. When Dunlevy left us, we owed them approximately $2,000 for prior work. However, they owed us for a more than $4,300 - $1,200 granite bench that their workers broke, and replacements for all of the dead plants that were guaranteed (which we eventually had replaced by another landscaper at a cost of over $3,100). To this day, Dunlevy refuses to pay us the difference between what they owe us and what they say we owe them.
