I have used Local First twice. The first service was to replace a broken spring. They were able to come very quickly. The technician went above and beyond, tuning up a very noisy door so it operated almost like new. Just now they replaced my door. The old door came apart as it was opening, trapping a car in the garage and leaving a large gap in the doorway. Asher came by the next day to give me an estimate, and while he was here he opened the door enough that I could get the car out and then was able to close the door to secure the garage. He did that at no charge and with no promise of getting the replacement job. The replacement cost was very reasonable and was completed two days later. The new door is much better than the old and operates much more smoothly. I can't recommend this service more highly! read more

I recently found myself in need of a garage door pro when my tension spring broke leaving my door nearly impossible to open. I turned to Yelp and found about a half dozen people with great reviews. I used the "get a quote" tool on Yelp and asked that half a dozen people to provide a quote to repair my Torquemaster spring system. All of them came back and told me that the spring I had as not repairable and wanted to install a more traditional spring. The prices ranged from $300 - $500 but Asher from Local First was quick to respond to my questions, he had great reviews, and his price was near the cheapest. When he arrived, he quickly analyzed my installation and then went to work. Before I knew it, he had completed the swap out, and the door was back in working order. He removed all of the old components and had the work area cleaned up in just over an hour. Long story short, Asher is excellent, and his prices are fair. read more

I called Local First to help repair our garage door after a spring broke. Initially, I was very impressed as the company offered to come out the same day at 12pm and fix our garage. They promised a call 30 minutes before the service person arrived, at 11:30am. They also said they carried a variety of springs on the truck so didn't need me to find out the model number of our garage foor. 12pm came and went, no one arrived. At 1:15pm I received a call from a number I didn't recognize and the service was so bad I couldn't hear the other person on the phone. They kept calling back and finally got to a place where I could hear them better. The man asked me what was wrong with my garage (he hadn't been briefed) and then told me he could be out at 3pm. When I mentioned the appointment was supposed to be at noon and I asked to speak to his manager, the individual hung up on me. Shortly after, I left a voicemail with Local First letting them know that I would be looking for another company to come service our garage door. Immediately after, I receive another phone number, the same one that the man called me from prior and Don told me they could be out within 15 mins and they had never received my inquiry and I must have been speaking to a different company, so I must have been mistaken. Local First was the ONLY company I called and I let Don know and he continued to insist that it was not Local First who had provided the bad service and they never received my appointment request in the first place. Yet, he was calling me from the same number the service person called me from 15 minutes prior. Needless to say, I do not recommend using this company. They don't show up when they say they're going to, they aren't honest and customer service is obviously far from their first priority. read more

He was completely happy to just fix it and didn't try to sell us on anything. . He is so knowledgeable and professional. He was able to assess the problem and fix it immediately with the equipment in his vehicle. His estimate to fully replace our door was also given promptly and was very reasonable. read more

We called them today when our garage door broke. They gave us the option of fixing it or replacing it but warned us that if we fixed it, we'd be fixing it again in 3 months. They weren't pushy and weren't trying to sell us anything but seemed honestly concerned about ensuring that they left us with a fixed garage. When we chose to replace the door they were honest and up front about all the costs and everything and gave us some advice on what would be most cost effective. We now have an insulated garage door that works! Also he said if anything goes wrong he'd waive the fee to come out. We will be recommending them to our friends and family. read more

When other places told us we needed to replace the whole garage door, Asher came out the next day and fixed the existing one for a fraction of the cost, saying that if it didn't work he wouldn't charge anything. A few weeks later when it wouldn't open all the way (probably because of the cold), he was kind enough to walk me through troubleshooting steps on the phone so I could fix it myself. Unfortunately, most of the other companies on Yelp could not fit me in until later in the week and it was snowy weather. I rarely write reviews but Asher's service at Local First Garage Door Service warrants it. Recently my garage door became inoperable and I was looking for a company that could repair it. I spoke Asher and he was happy to come out to take a look. It was a Sunday so I was nervous about extra charges but had to get it done. He arrived within the window he promised which I couldn't believe was only two hours from the time we spoke. He arrived and thoroughly explained the problem, quoted me the price and did not pressure me with any upsell. He resolved the issue quickly and even offered some tips and timeframes for what he noticed. I will definately call Asher in the future for any repair as well as pass hi name along to friends.
