We visited local grounds while we were in town for a port stop on our cruise. My cruise came in to Ward Cove and we got a shuttle to the marina area. I walked to local grounds from that area and it was not challenging or particularly long. It was a gorgeous walk. Highly recommend doing that if you are in the area as a tourist because this coffee was probably one of the best coffees I had on my entire trip, including the coffee I had in Seattle! The shop is decorated super cute and had a lot of great options for food and drinks. I loved the merch too. The wait was not too long considering they were pretty busy when I went with a sudden rush of travelers. The baristas were nice and my drink was great. Very happy we stopped into this local coffee spot while cruising through the port area. They are clearly well liked by both locals and tourists with a line for their offerings. From locally made treats to solid coffee options, it's a must do if you are in the area for travel. I had a chocolate chip scone, and a dark chocolate iced mocha. Both were delectable and I'd absolutely recommend them. The staff was really welcoming to every guest and took time to ensure orders were correct. The staff were friendly and very quick with the line. I tried a lemonade, it was perfectly sweet and not too watered down. There were plenty of people enjoying coffee and food inside as well which led me to believe their other menu items were also enjoyable. They have two floors and restrooms available upstairs. We were chilly walking from the piers in Ketchikan and stopped in for a warm drink. This was the cutest coffee shop inside! The decor is so fresh and inviting. They had a variety of things on their menu. I saw they had a London Fog on the menu and was super excited. It took a couple minutes to get my drink and I loved it! Shared the mocha with my partner, I thought it was just me but we both agreed that it was way too sweet! Sister-in-law shared the lemonade with her hubby - they both seemed to enjoy it. The weather was absolutely beautiful, warmer than usual... So when I walked upstairs to use the restroom I was surprised they had more seating! Even though the coffee was excellent the business seemed a bit overwhelmed on this day By the amount of people that were downtown with five cruise ships in harbor and the wait was long for my coffee. It was really the only negative part of my experience here and something to keep in mind on a heavy cruise day if you don't want to wait in a slow moving line. Having said that, I am not holding that against the business and am understanding of the circumstances on this particular day and am noting it for future customers if they are after a "fast" cup of coffee on a day a lot of ships are in harbor at the same time. read more

This was our first stop after docking, it's a very cute shoo and smelled delicious upon entering. The barista who also happened to be the cashier was quite rude when taking our order. Since we're all service folk we chalked it up to her being overwhelmed and rolled with it. But her rudeness continued, when delivering the coffee and spilling it "I spilled your coffee" she noted without an apology or offer to clean it up, when we noticed one of the beverages was incorrectly made and asked if she could correct this she begrudgingly did and then proceeded to toss the remaining coffee in the trash. When asked if we could just have it, she blatantly ignored us and then out of nowhere another worker came in, looked at us and put a paper of sorts in the cup. Just to prove it was trash I guess? It all just rubbed us the wrong way, almost as if they were going out of their way to make us feel unwelcome. The coffee itself was meh, nothing particularly special and if this is the service they offer regularly I'd skip this local establishment. read more

The barista was unfriendly and did not greet us. She not only did Not acknowledge us but kept us waiting while she prepared her own personal drink. This is unacceptable! Seriously, preparing her personal drink takes precedence over being attentive to the paying customer? This barista could use more training in customer service. When I asked for some cream and honey for my tea, she again kept us waiting, not saying a word, and was just lackadaisical like we were putting her out to ask for anything extra. Not service-oriented at all! There are other places in town with friendlier service like Alaska Coffee. Go there instead and skip this place! read more

Now they have seating upstairs. The restroom ran out of hand soap and their garbage can was overflowing at 11 am. This was a cute little place in Ketchikan. It's in a fairly large building for a tiny little coffee stand. They had a line when we went in so it took a few minutes to order.
