This is a real coffee shop, maybe the only one in ketchikan. All the other coffee shops sell a lot of hot food so I consider them fake coffee shops. You have to walk a little into the heart of downtown but it's worth it and the crowds are smaller. The staff are super understanding and helpful, it's a family run small business, the demeanor of the property is very much coffee shop coded and is a great first stop. One of our group got biscuits and gravy and it was still cold, so she asked for it to be reheated and he apologized profusely. It was no big deal, and the customer service was excellent. We were staying at the Inn at Creek Street, which is an easy walk for a delicious, light breakfast. The staff was incredibly friendly and made sure we knew when to come back for hot salmon dill scones! They were worth the wait (well balanced flavors), and I enjoyed my biscuit while I waited. We walked here from our cruise ship and ordered a large mocha, a buttermilk biscuit, a bacon jalapeño scone, and a cinnamon bun (based on the recommendation of the employee/owner??). We sat on the side porch and they brought the food out, with butter and utensils. We made our own "food tour" of Ketchikan, and our second stop shouldn't be missed! I'm from Los Angeles, so my coffee expectations are worldclass. I'll tell you what, while the coffee brews fall a little short, the owner (SAM) and staff are absolutely worldclass, which takes my 3 stars to 4 stars. Walking around town, we wanted to grab a quick bite to eat some where. The smell of smoked pork filled the air and our noses led us here. The owner is very animated, friendly and I "think" his young daughter was sitting in the place saying hello and chatting it up with guests. She was super cute whomever she was. Amazing cafe! A lot of the other cafes had basic packaged pastries, I saw another Yelp review that said they have pastries made in house - fresh! I will say they did taste house made and fresh, but also soooo delicious! I got a snickerdoodle cookie and lemon loaf, I was only going to get one but it was my birthday so I treated myself and I'm so glad I did because both were just fantastic. The service was great too, very friendly and efficient considering how busy it was with all us tourists. Cozy environment on the deck, outdoor seating with rain cover protection and heaters. Whenever we cruise, the one thing I miss the most is decent cup of cappuccino or even a regular coffee, so always try to look one on the ports, IBC had good reviews, we walked by so many coffee shops on the way to IBC, this is the only place which was crowded, got cappuccino and asked them to make it 8oz instead of 12oz, but it was around 5-6oz, and it was too strong and bitter, but definitely better than what we get on cruise, my son got there biscuit, which he loved it, all the baked goodies looked fresh and tempting. read more

Can't help but adore his sweet British accent and even sweeter demeanor. He found out it was my daughter's birthday and gave her an upgrade to her drink and free cookie- no sharing with mom lol- birthday girl only. Food here was very reasonably priced- especially considering the prices of everything else around this location. It was a really cool, cam, relaxing vibe and we didn't want to leave. It was raining outside and the hot coffee, warm energy and sweet sounds just hit perfectly. Everything we had we loved.
