I hit the jackpot coming here!! Man they have so many unique flavors. They will also allow you to sample any ice cream before you make your purchase. They have ice cream, smoothies and juice! Depending on the day they also have cake. I tried the strawberry Hennessy and I could taste the alcohol. I decided to go with the pound cake instead and it was scrumptious! I loved the cake pieces.

This place is great. The inside has a lot of seating too and it looks nice. Their bun and cheese flavor is my favorite, yall should try it.

I was planning a visit to the area and looked for things to do and eat and discovered this place. What?!?! Two of my favorite words: Caribbean and Ice Cream?!?! I know, that's technically three words, but who's counting. Anyway, what kind of culinary wizardry is this? I had to find out! We stopped in on Sunday afternoon and the space is sparsely furnished, with a cheesy fake palm tree and reggae music videos playing on a TV. There are plush, but supportive, living room chairs so it gives the impression that you will want to get comfortable and stay a while. Sounds Caribbean to me. The nice lady at the counter greeted us with a smile and quickly offered to allow us to taste any of the flavors we were curious about. Thankyaverymuch! Don't mind if I do! I targeted the more exotic flavors, like Bun and Cheese, Rum and Raisin, Tamarind Sorbet and Sour Sop. Each was like a small taste of Jamaica! I was hooked and the attendant waited patiently for me to resolve my dilemma of which flavor to select and what size. I finally settled on a mixture of Bun and Cheese and Rum and Raisin, which are fantastic together! Then, I saw the sweet potato cake that was sitting near the register, taunting me, unmercifully. At this point, my inner AND outer fat boy double-teamed my weakened dietary resolve and I caked, I mean, I caved. Let's be clear. The small samples are good for a start but they do no justice to the true flavor and texture of the ice cream. You really have to get a scoop to allow the creamy, smoothness of the flavors to really shine. The rum and raisin were perfectly balanced, although I would have preferred a few more raisins in the mix. The Bun and Cheese really succeeded in capturing that traditional Easter treat flavor. However, the mixture of the two, when added with the sweet potato cake, was just plain magical. Its a good thing I don't live here because I would probably be back tomorrow and probably the next day and so on, until i tried a scoop of all those flavors because they are really that good. Well done!

Babyyyyyy!!! This place was so nice, I had to visit twice! I went yesterday and then took my family back today. I love the flavors. So refreshing. Nicole & Mike were awesome. Very friendly. They gave suggestions on the flavors & which one was their favorite. The first time I went, I had watermelon & mango. Oh my goodness!! It was so good. My second time, I tried a few others, they were so good. But I went back to the watermelon & mango. This time, I took my Tajin seasoning and sprinkled some on top. Yummy!!! Now, about their cookies!!! (Dancing and eating one now. lol.) They are so good. I waited for them to cook. That's how bad I wanted one. They didn't disappoint. I bought 4 of them. The shop was very clean. Cute Caribbean colors for the counter. Plenty of seating and parking. Nice Caribbean music playing. I AM GOING BACK!! AGAIN AND AGAIN.

Step into Localicuous & you'll feel like you've been transported to the Caribbean with their delicious ice cream. It's right next to Ole NC BBQ....their signage wasn't up yet when we went. There definitely is an island vibe with the friendly service, colorful decor and Bob Marley playing in the background. The star attraction is the ice cream which is brought in from Florida. Here you'll find flavors that you'll only find in the islands, like the Coffee Rum, Banana Bread Rum, Grapenuts, Bun & Cheese. They have the standard flavors too for the traditionalists. Highly recommend the Dragon Stout & Rum Raisin (& I hate raisins!). The rum & stout flavors really come thru in the ice cream! It's evident that the ice creams have a higher butterfat content with the silky texture and it's slower to melt.

(I love sorbet, but sometimes you want rich ice cream). Besides chocolate mint and Vietnamese coffee, there's an enticing lime sorbet and a rotating seasonal flavor, which in late July was a blackberry crumble that is delicious with little bits of crumble ribboned throughout (I love to chew my ice cream). A single scoop is actually quite generous and only $5. Service is speedy and friendly. Whether you're a local or just visiting Durham, Jeni's is absolutely worth a stop for a sweet treat. Great ice cream, great atmosphere, and even better customer service. The young lady taking my order told me that I couldn't add bacon. I said I would pay (obviously), but she said that they aren't allowed to add bacon. I could only get it plain or with the regular condiments on it. I realize that this is Burger King & I clearly can't have it my way, BUT if you have bacon on other items and you have it in your store, you should allow customers to pay extra to add it to their burger. Anyway, I settled for the chicken strip kid's meal & had to wait 10 minutes for the cashier and her friend in the car in front of me to finish their convo before I could pull up and pay. She rushed me MY order & I pulled off not realizing that my food was old and cold. The strips were hard as rocks and dry, and the fries were just cold. I had to rush back to the hospital to be with my boyfriend. So, I didn't even bother going back to complain. They may not "allow" refunds either, and I didn't want to have to act ugly. Lesson learned & I will never be back.

"Eastern-inspired ice cream and other sweets, next door to La Vaquita in Durham"…read more Stopped by this lovely shop at 7pm on a Saturday evening. The name a little hard to catch, but it's a small greenish building immediately beside La Vaquita on Chapel Hill Road (with the giant cow on the roof). The outdoor area is quite nice, with a fenced outdoor area having swings and other seating/ space for families. We were greeted quite warmly when we arrived. They had maybe ~15 flavors of ice cream or similar (will return to that in a second) as well as other sweets like baklava. But this is not your ordinary ice cream shop-- the flavors were unusual. Cucumber, date, and others caught my eye, but I didn't try those. Unlike one Yelp reviewer's comment, when we went, there was both a regular pistachio as well as a vegan pistachio option. I got something different-- I tried the falooda... a Persian inspired ice-cream-like dish with rose syrup and small cooked noodles. The texture is slightly like an italian ice, but the flavor was great. However, there's more-- on a table off to the side, there were separate lemon and cherry flavors that we were invited to try adding to the falooda. Let me tell you-- either addition turned a good dish into a heavenly dish! Sooooo good. Try it, but only if you're open to "this isn't just ice cream". There were also some wafer cookies to the side we were invited to have with our respective dishes. Seating inside was stools at benches facing a thin window bar-- outside is nicer if you have a big group and/ or if weather is nice, but it was fine. I did stop by the restroom briefly, and it was clean, too. Overall, definitely plan to come back to this eastern-inspired ice cream shop, and I encourage others to give it a try too!
