He took our drinks order and served us. I asked to set up a tab and he was fine. He pointed out the special board and welcomed us to take our seats. I had a burger and chips, it was nice enough. My colleague had fish and chips and he said his fish was actually really nice and definitely a good bit of quality fish. The waitress was so sweet, attentive and amusing! The decor was lovely and you can tell it's just had a big makeover. The whole place was immaculate. A really decent selection of drinks, including London lagers and ales. It is is at the posher end of "gastro pub". I would go back here 100%. If nothing else the staff have won it over for me hands down. You k ow you'll get served timely, decent food, with a smile, nothing too much effort.

They're dog friendly and there's a really nice nature walk right opposite the pub. You'd want to get there by car as it's in the middle of Watford road but to easy to find. The staff there are welcoming, we actually went on Boxing Day thinking it' probably be too busy but they were really nice and we got a cozy sofa spot next to the bar. The food is nice and warming I had the butternut squash soup of the day with nice homemade bread. They do amazing seafood hence the name and I'm eager to go for the lobster Tuesdays. I think you have to book in advance due to popularity. Will definitely recommend any hungry hikers and families with kids as they have a lot to choose from with whole lot of alcohol choices too!

Food was good. Simple, elegantly but unfussily presented. We had crab linguine and scallops to start. The scallops were smaller than expected (see picture), 3 small scallops for £17 is overpriced in my opinion. The crab linguine was lovely, light and delicious. For mains we had the whole dover sole (hubby wanted head removed which they were happy to do) and Indonesian curry. All the fish was perfectly cooked. The Indonesian curry had a good heat to it, loved it. We will be back to try other items on the menu

Helpful service. The pardon peppers were a good serving for only £3. Served in oil, just needed an extra dusting of salt on top. The shrimp in oil with chilli and garlic was tasty, almost like in Spain. Bread for dipping in oil on the side. Sweet potato and leek pakora is something you don't see on the menu every day. I liked it, the batter was quite light and you get what I think was a plum chutney on the side. The haddock fish cakes are shaped like balls and served on a bed of leeks. Also had a side order of Daupinois potatoes, shaped like a square block, nice and creamy.
