A very pleasant lunch sitting outdoors on a late spring sunday. We chose to have two courses - mains & dessert. We were given freshly baked potato bread rolls while waiting for our mains. Mains took about 45mins to arrive after ordering which to me was a tad too long to be waiting. Mains are quite small with no side dishes on the menu & I was a little concerned we may leave hungry. The desserts were more generous & I was more than satisfied. For those with bigger appetites I'd recommend the three course option. There were no petit fours , chocolates or biscuits served with tea & coffee which was a bit disappointing. Service was friendly & there were a few little mistakes such as giving meals to the wrong person & forgetting to bring our dessert wine. A big mistake was charging us for three courses instead of two, fairly obvious when we saw the amount charged! The menu is changed quite frequently here with seasonal availibility of local produce influencing this. I would love to return for a cosy winter meal. Visited November 2011 read more

I have to say, Lochiel is by far the best restaurant in the Hawkesbury! If you are a foodie that also has a love of good wine and great service, then you will not be disappointed! Could not fault anything about our experience here, and will definitely be making far more regular visits! read more

This place was amazing! A couple of friends and I travelled up to Kurrajong Heights and and found at the top of the hill a lovely little house embraced in beautiful lights. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very warm and cosy and you're invited in by some really friendly staff upon arrival. We sat by a beautiful fireplace that really keeps you happy and warm during the winter. The food was nothing short of amazing! My friends and I decided to share everything and we had a taste menu organised by the staff at lochiel house! It cost us just under $70 for for people. Everything was made fresh at the house from the bread to the butter, to the produce that was served. It was either grown or produced at the house. Most things on the menu was a first time for me like snails, bone marrow but despite it being a worry earlier whilst reading the menu, I'm glad I tried it because these foods were to die for. Many compliments to the chef for making such simple ingredients into amazing dishes that instantly change your mind with every bite. Finally dessert was served! It was like a deconstructed lemon meringue cheesecake and my oh my, it was heaven in one plate! Every element on that dish was spectacular! I left that place very full and very happy! I highly recommend this place to others and I'll be going back again! read more

I have dined at Lochiel House numerous times now and every single time I have a lovely dining experience. The food here is absolutely superb and it would match any 2 hat restaurant in Sydney hands down. This chef really knows his stuff. The menu is varied so there is something for everyone. The dishes are delicate to look at and so well put together with stunning flavours. The wine list whilst not extensive is most interesting with lots of gems. Front of house is seamless led by Jess and her team. Fine dining at its best in a very relaxed atmosphere, I just love this place. read more
