I usually don't take the time out of my busy work day to write reviews but I had to in this case, because of the excellent service our company received from Lock Specialists. I am impressed with this company! We first contacted them when we needed to have our entire facility re-keyed for security reasons. Dennis was very reliable in arriving when he said he would, and even called us when he was on his way from another job. He took care of what needed to get done very efficiently and thoroughly. We discussed some possible improvements for the future and several months later we had him make those improvements, which we are very happy with. Our receptionist feels much more secure sitting up front after he repaired the front security key pad and door closer. Our air conditioning on the second floor is working much better after he repaired the closer on the fire door in the hallway. Dennis has a wealth of knowledge and "know how" from his many years of experience in this field. He also has what I call a mobile workshop and has everything he needs with him. That way most of the time he can take care of what you need right on the spot! I just locked myself out of my house without my keys and I could see them on the couch through the window which really made me mad. I tried every window, every door and I just couldn't get anything open without breaking it. That's probably a good thing but it really irritated me even more. I just happened to have my cellphone so I called around to 3 or 4 places out here in Ventura, they all said they would be out after 8 am and that was just too late for me to make it on time. I finally reached these guys and he said he'd come out right away. He was there in a pretty short amount of time. He was very polite, I'm sure I was not so nice with him because I was worried about everything going on and being late. Anyhow he got me back in really quick, and he didn't charge me an arm and a leg like one of the guys said it would cost. He even had exact change. I would use these guys again, figured if they could get me into my old house, they can get into anything. I had the pleasure of meeting Dennis during an event sponsored by our local Chamber of Commerce. At the time I didn't have a need for a locksmith but we exchanged business cards just in case the need became necessary. Two weeks later I contacted Dennis to schedule an appointment to provide me with a quote to re-key existing locks and install a new doorknob lock combination on the garage door. 100% recommend calling Dennis first before you call any other specialist. Our Mortise locks were damaged when taken apart by a previous contractor who re-stained our front doors. These locks are somewhat complicated and another locksmith damaged them further and then wanted to charge us $500 to install new locks. Dennis was honest, knowledgeable, and fast. Dennis ia a really great Locksmith. We were moving and we lost the key for our bike rack that goes on the car. He spent a few hours finding an old Datsun key that worked for it and made a new key. Charged us $45. He is thorough, kind, and tries his best. I've used other locksmiths in Simi Valley, but I would only use Dennis from now on. He is honest and fair in his pricing! read more
