Adam arrived in a timely manner and was very honest regarding my double deadbolt lock on an exterior gate to my older Detroit home. When I called originally and described my situation, it was determined that he would get materials from a supplier in case my lock was not able to be repaired before he made the service call. I appreciated the foresight instead of having to hire him to come back out. He fixed the deadbolt and rekeyed the lock to match another key on my home. Which makes my day to day life easier. Called for service while Adam got back in touch with me immediately and we spoke with pictures sent of lock and different options no actual service was given. During call Adam stated he was pulling up to another job and would call me back to set up date and time; did not receive call back after 2 days I texted him to ask if everything was okay, he texted back stating sorry family emergency and what date and time did we discuss. I said no worries and told him to call for us to finalize a date and time; he never responded to that text. I called again and told him let's wait until New Year since no response. I texted and called again after New Year asking if he was going to be able to provide services and if not at least let me know that. I found Adam and Lockbusters of Michigan through Home Advisor, and called him by looking up his number rather than sending him a request for a quote. I am happy I did, because he answered and listened to exactly what I wanted, informed me of the methods / equipment / brands he uses and we settled on a date and time to re-key my entire house. Much easier than the run around of the Home Advisor / Angies List type sites you can sometimes get. He arrived within his time window and got right to work. We did a walk through and he showed me what deadbolt / knob sets he had or said he could go to his supply house, but what he had worked for my project. His pricing was upfront and fair, and he wasn't at all pushy. The installations went easily and any time there would be / was an issue (the doors were 3" plus thick, and painted, so paint chipping, ect happened) he communicated it clearly and offered a solution / reason. I'd hire Lockbusters of Michigan again without hesitation. Professional, easy to understand, clearly explains the process and keeps you informed throughout the time he is there. I was initially nervous about calling a locksmith because I have heard so many people say they got charged more than originally quoted, or needed to change their locks completely. I just wanted to simply rekey my home after my ex moved out and I wanted all the keys the same, except for the mother-in-law suite which needed a different key. A lot of other locksmiths had "starting at" prices which made me anxious because I was on a budget. I called Lockbusters, and he quoted me a flat price, so I chose Lockbusters rather than another locksmith. The technician was very friendly and all the re-keys worked perfectly. When he went to rekey the mother-in-law suite attached to my house he explained that he could easily make a master key for it. That was way more convenient than having multiple sets of keys, so I gave him the OK. He only charged me a little bit extra than the original quote for that extra work. tl;dr He rekeyed my whole house, 3 exterior doors and made a masterkey for my 4th door (an entrance to a mother-in-law suite).
