The inspector missed MOLD, which was very obvious to someone moving from the Westside. When I pointed it out he acted as if I had lost my mind and that it was nothing. We closed the deal, but after the first major rainfall we realized that we had a leak in the roof right above where the ceiling was moldy. With the next home purchase I decided to go with Don Hester, NCW Home Inspections LLC. He is absolutely AMAZING! Incredibly detail oriented, and will take the time to inspect everything that is accessible. He does not cut corners. On a personal level he is fun to talk to and is willing to have you tag along with him through out the inspection. His reports are long (around 100 pages), detailed and accompanied with pictures. He might be a bit more expensive than most ($50-$100 more, depending on the size of the property), but there is a good reason for that. My feeling is that on such a large purchase as a home it's worth to pay a little more for an exceptional inspector that will save you much more than you paid for him in the long run.
