I love stopping in here because it is family owned and everyone is so friendly. The prices are pretty fair for the most part as well. They have a really nice selection of spring flowers right now and always have a good selection of house plants. I particularly come here for the dahlias when they're in season because the quality is unmatched. I'm incredibly disappointed in this place. The flowers and varitey are wonderful but the prices on a majority of their stuff are outrageous. I was looking for some lillies and one greenhouse worker told me they were no longer in season and didn't have any but directed me towards where there may be a few left - but a second greenhouse worker helped me locate and they had quite a few but not as many as other nurseries i had just frequently visited. I didn't scour every corner like I usually do when going to greenhouses as the prices on a majority of their stuff - I just couldn't come to terms with. read more

Absolutely love this place and hate that it's so far away. I found these wonderful myrtle topiary and almost ready to bloom gardenia here. And the tiniest tradescetia. They had a huge variety of plants and it was so difficult to control myself from buying more. I also got an amazing pair of earrings with floral design. read more

We have been working on a massive yard renovation, which has involved several trips to Lockwood's Greenhouses. I had a few appointments with Beth to work out the design, and I really cannot say enough how instrumental she was in putting the yard together. I had sketched out the layout that I was considering as well as a list of potential plants. Beth looked over my sketch and took me around to see the trees that they had, making suggestions based on my sketch. After this I went home, did another round of research and design, and came back for another appointment. This time we finalized everything and picked out several specific trees that they put on hold for me (they'll do paid hold up to 10 days) until I could get a vehicle to drive them home. When we went to pick up the trees, they were all ready to go and the staff helped us load them into the truck bed. In spite of them warning us that it would likely require two trips, they managed to fit - very carefully - all four trees in the truck. They recommended that we stop at Value just down the street and get a tarp to protect the leaves. We did that, then drove veeeery slowly back to Tonawanda. The selection and quality at Lockwood's is great. And the staff is willing to go above and beyond even during their busy season. They clearly are passionate about what they do and it made a huge different for our project. read more

I visit many greenhouses and nurseries in the area. I'm often looking for something specific for the garden. But sometimes I just stop in because I'm in the area. Seeing what's available and in season can give you ideas sometimes. Lockwood is a large nursery in Hamburg. They carry indoor and outdoor plants, large and small. The plants are healthy and well cared for here. They will last you a while if you pick them up. Home Depot often carries similar plants but they are usually not quite as healthy and may not last. I know this from experience. Lockwood also carries things for the garden. From tools and other utility items to windchimes and other decorative things. The tools are usually nice ergonomic ones. They have a large and varied selection of options. Larger than other nurseries in the area. The plant and tree prices are comparative with other nurseries in the area. The tools and other decorative things seem a little pricy to me, not compared to other nurseries but in general. It's easy to recommend you come here for gardening needs. Nice layout, easy pleasant employees. Easy parking. read more

I had heard about Lockwoods through a seminar I had attended a few months ago and since then have been wanting to check them out. This past weekend my mom, sister and I ran off to do some shopping (dangerous!) Lockwood's was easy enough to find, (almost a first for google) and we were excited when we pulled in. First impressions at nurseries are very important and Lockwood's totally won on that front! As far as nurseries and garden centers in the Buffalo area go, this is by far the best one I've been to so far! While many of their items are on the more expensive side, there are some plants that they were cheaper for. Also, you can seriously tell that they care for their plants! The perennials that we purchased were easy to transplant and not at all pot bound like some places. The staff here is friendly, helpful and patient which is great for a nursery. We left with not only plants, but a wealth of knowledge as well! They also have a great gift shop section and decor for the garden. Many items that are unique and that I have not seen anywhere else - including plants. I found a particular type of hydrangea that I had been looking for elsewhere with no success. I strongly recommend checking out Lockwood's , even if only to look around. It's a gorgeous place and you never know what you might learn or find! read more

Lockwoods has been my favorite local greenhouse for a long time now. Their plants are always so healthy, they have really inspirational displays and arrangments throughout. They have the classic plants you expect to see in our region but they also have those cool, hard to find plants that make your yard stand out from the neighbors. (Need a cool succulent just like the one you saw on pinterest? This is your place.) BUT TODAY they went way beyond the call of duty when I loaded up my van with my purchases and then found I had a totally flat tire. The father and son team at the greenhouse swung into action, filled my tire with their compressor and even followed me to dunn tire to make sure I got there safe! So if you are looking for a greenhouse with great products and even better customer service look no further! read more

I was so lost last week. Off to the Fair and I kept following the signs suggesting my route when I was dumped on Clark St. Directions stop there folks. I almost turned toward a tavern that was playing live music. Nope. That wasn't it. I traveled a little ways down Clark and I stopped at the greenhouse for directions. Two very polite and friendly young people greeted me and gave me the directions and I browsed while we made small talk. They had raw honey for about half the price as the stuff I saw at the Fair later. The very essential stuff I was going to the Fair for. They have a nice selection of jams and fruits and veggies as well as beautiful plants. I shall return and now I know how to get there. read more

Pros: I live in the area and have been to Lockwood's numerous times. They have a great selection of healthy plants, some varieties that you will not find anywhere else. Cons: They are expensive (eg. 30 cents more per 6 pack annuals) compared to other sellers. I also think they need to work on their customer service. I have experienced less than helpful employees on at least 2 occasions (eg last year encountered an employee that could not or maybe did not want to help me find a "spiller" for a specific sun requirement that I had. This year a guy acted like I was crazy when I asked for a specific plant that I bought there last year, and he obviously was not familiar with it and was not able to help). Recommendation: Shop at one of the other amazing nurseries in the area and go to Lockwood's for unique plants to fill in the gaps. read more

Lockwood' sis beautiful, with an amazing selection of unusual plants and decorative garden accessories, as well as a lovely gift shop. It is, however, extremely expensive. The Christmas Tree prices are insane. Be prepared to spend some serious $$$ if you go. read more
